excerpt from a dramatised and extremely self-indulgent Lu Guang migraine fic i blinked and wrote one night last October. it's the only fanfic I've ever written, and it'll very likely never be finished. I revised it heavily about 3k words in before writing more because I didn't like it in its original version (pictured above), but then my laptop crashed while it was open and unsaved, and the only restore point was pre-revision/pre-continuation. I'm not redoing it, so this one's tentatively abandoned, and I hate this version of it, but fuck it -- enjoy.

I had a vision, I bought my base, and I started my adventure of turning Li Tianchen into Xia Fei.

Prying off the hair from the face was the worst part, and I was mildly concerned I'd destroy it in the progress. I'll have to see if I'll repeat that for Vein. Though painting will be a lot easier, so... sigh.

I was unsure whether I should try to alter the clothes since the style wasn't too off from Xia Fei's, but in the end, I pried off the hood and gave him a turtleneck.

Hair is looking OK for now, tomorrow I'll do the other side and then we will see.

i completely agree with literally every sentence of this.

each season so far has felt like context leading up to a bigger project. we already know we’ve barely scratched the surface, but i think we’re gonna go a lot deeper than anticipated by a lot of fans. yingdu was pretty much just context. i’m tired of people acting as if this is the last season we’ll ever see

i think the problem with a lot of the link click fandom is that people are scared to have fun and be wrong.

the show is still very much in progress, be silly for now! nothing is certain and they like to fuck with us!

if you love this show and it’s creators so much, have faith in them and understand that an “in between” season isn’t going to meet all of your personal criteria for what makes a good season. not only are they doing their best, BUT IT WAS A FUN SEASON for the most part and if you take your fucking self serving critic glasses off for two minutes it was pretty enjoyable!!

while I do have some mixed feelings about yingdu I think some people are being wayyy to harsh like. this is a setup arc. yingdu exists to set up season three. we're still too early to know how much of what we are being told is the truth and how much are lies, and still too early to really determine what are plot holes and what arent. this season was basically sold as an appetizer while we wait for s3 and in general it was still a lot of fun!

i hate when people characterize lu guang as being mean 😭 yeah sure he's stoic and he teases cheng xiaoshi but he's certainly not mean, he helps xu shanshan for free despite cheng xiaoshi's protests, in 5.5 he throws a slight at ou yang's father for not letting his daughter marry who she wants, he comforts doudou's father when he starts crying like c'mon he's kind too he's just not as obvious about it
