it is fascinating to watch people justify Caitlyn's actions with her grief and castigate Ambessa in the breath for the actions she is taking to protect her family. I will never argue that Ambessa is a good person or that her actions are justified. she is actively intentionally stirring a class war and getting people hurt and killed in the process. she is a terrible person doing terrible things. but she is a mother, a mother in mourning who has already lost her first child and is desperately trying not lose the one that's still alive. does that not deserve sympathy? or is that only reserved for skinny rich socialites who pressure their girlfriends to kill their sisters?

And the last person is... The death stick guy from the second film gkgkfkoffk I could not resist not including him idkw. He seems to enjoy going to the club ? That's enough for me ! (Don't think of the timeline, for the love of god nobody think of the timeline-)
When I was doing sketches for this, I thought about one crutial detail I could not comprehensively include in the final image, so here it is : Maul and my togruta lady chose each other's outfits. He picked something he thought looked cool, she picked pink.
PS : the longer I was working on this piece the more Darth Maul was looking like a mean lesbian lhlgkgofok anyway if you want to interpret this image as trans mean lesbian Maul I won't stop you <3 (join me and my evil advisor in this delightful vision)
PSS : my only exposure to maul was though sw1, and half of the book 'maul lockdown' (that I remember nothing about-). I barely know this man, he is just the weird guy from sw I like to draw. (I obviously know other things about him, but only through fandom(tumblr))

Had a lot of fun with Palpatine's outfit !! She gets to dress dramaticaly like the rich influencial nabooian (?) woman she is (the gown is heavily inspired by a 1998 Dior dress) ! Of course after the creation of the empire she doesn't do that anymore :( evil old lady in a bathrobe didn't bother to brush her air for 20 years... Good for her ig
I must admit.... Dooku's design is the most indulgent one here, it's targeted to *me* specifically fjfkdk like this outfit (minus the cape...for now) would be something I would wear, the dracula vibes because it's christopher lee and I have no problem what so ever with the hammer draculas, the feminine tall older woman- so yeah maybe I pushed the sith vibes a bit, and gave her the shadow the hedgehog color palette... But this is one of my faves design here sue me
For Boba I redesigned the og trilogy look a little bit, by taking some elements from disney's design and adding a bit of my own flaire to it :) and giving her a *big gun*
And for the first time..... You can trully appreciate how tiny Boba is jdndk big gun for tiny butch
Vader is just Vader- what do you want from me this is one of the best designs ever created djdk I'm not changing anything here (but this *is* one of the best Vader I ever drew jfkdkd don't know what I did different but he looks great !)
And Sabé is here now !! nothing to do with the fact I stumbled upon the Sabédala ship and it has occupied my mind ever since jfkfj Anyway ! Had a lot of fun with the flame dress (I know it doesn't contrast well with Padmé's, but I really wanted to do this one :(( the over handmaiden's outfits weren't as iconic imo)

Ok hear me out.......... wlw Wilhuff Tarkin and Orson Krennic-
the dynamic very much is unhinged creative vs rigid control freak in a context of evil bureaucracy- and personally the context is why I love to read stories with imperials jdjdkd nothing is more crack cocaine literature for me than to make drama in a space office filled with awful people
More flavor text and me trying to sell you on why this ship of two truly terrible people is great below vvv
For Krennic, lean more into the evil genius artist. She's been up for 46 hours straight drawing schematics, she's rambling about incomprehensible shit, her only meals have been cigarettes and energy drinks, she's so full of herself she might one day think she's god, she's gonna die by 60. She doesn't care much about the politics of the empire, but they don't bother her either. She works for the imperials because they have a lot funds to give to engineers willing to build them a battle station the size of a moon capable of blowing up planets. Before that she worked on a lot a architectures on imperial center/Coruscant.
The imperial uniforms are a bit boring- so I'm taking full advantage of the fact Krennic is more of an engineer/architect to tweak her uniform a bit (and the cape was already not respecting regulations sooooo) For Tarkin I'm keeping it tho, this woman won't be caught dead without it.
For Tarkin, lean less into the whole buff survivalist aspect- she very much was in her youth, but she *is* a 65 year old woman based on *Peter Cushing*, and has been in a very high and prestigious position within the empire for the past 20 years. She still as an extensive knowledge on how to survive in nature, and fight with her bare hands or a knife, but that doesn't come up very often in her line of work anymore. She still killed a space bear unharmed when she was like 17 tho. She hates chaos and developed the main philosophy that drove the empire to this day : to govern with fear and impose order. She is a bloodthirsty woman in her sixties, with a never ending hunger for power, currently cheating on her wife with a coworker she hates.
They both love the death star more than they tolerate each other, but they did end up bonding over plotting the demise of one coworker they couldn't stand and digging out rebel spies. Make no mistake tho, this is very much a love triangle/trouple between two women and a giant battle station.
In the end, Tarkin killed Krennic by shooting her from orbit with the death star, the project was finally finished, she didn't need her anymore and she might have gotten in the way of her control of the station.
Tarkin dies a few days later during the battle of Yavin, along the death star, not willing to back down in her moments of glory.
PS : a lot of this is inspired by the fic "Propagating structure" by oneinspats ! it's what made me like and understand this pairing, and is truly a great work of fiction. I really think this fic is a masterful work when it comes to expending the character of Krennic, and extrapolating on existing things. Exploring his more creative side, his passion for his work, his truly abysmal lifestyle, giving him a hatred of nature and a background as an architect on Coruscant. While also keeping his horrific aspects, like reading his internal (or external) monologues sometimes makes my skin crawl with how disgusting his ideas are and how deep they run, but making him an interesting and compelling protag for the story. While all of it is surrounded by this delicious dramatic irony, because we know that no matter how hard they try to scheme (or fuck), the death star will blow up and it's incredible.

“Sure.” He grumbles, taking the orange. He peels it meticulously but quickly, leaving it whole and hands it back to you.
“Thanks.” You say, reaching to take it.
“Wait, did you want it in segments?” He pulls his hand back slightly, looking between it and you.
“It’s fine like that.” You reach again but he turns away.
He starts breaking it in segments and puts the pieces on a folded out napkin. He wraps it up and hands the napkin ball to you.
“Thank you, you didn’t have to do that.”
He just shrugs.

He opens his mouth to speak and closes it again, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. He looks down at the orange, tilts his head briefly and says, “all right.”
He peels it, breaking off a segment and popping it into his mouth. When you frown and start to protest he just winks at you and hands you the orange.
“You owe me an orange segment.” You argue, frowning at him.
He nods at you, smiling. “Noted.”

“You need my help? Can’t you do that yourself?” He teases, scrutinising you.
You stand there with the orange outstretched. “I mean, yeah.” You mumble, taking the orange back. You press a thumb in to peel it and he snatches it from you.
“Well, don’t get all sad. I’ll do it. But you owe me.” He looks up at you mid-peel and winks.
“For peeling an orange?” You question, watching his hands work.
“I’m just teasing. But don’t expect this princess treatment all the time or the others’ll get jealous.” He teases and hands the orange back to you, binning the peels.
Merle Dixon
He chuckles at you. “Need help peeling an orange?”
“I just…want you to peel it for me. Please.” You hold out the orange for him.
“Why? Can’t you do it?” He leans forward on the bed, elbows on knees.
“‘Course I can. I just…I was just hoping.” Your hand drops slightly.
He lifts up his knife hand. “I only got one hand. How do you expect me to do it?” He chuckles again and you press your thumb in to start peeling it yourself.
“True. Never mind.” You’d walk away disappointed, peeling away the skin.
