“but if we continue on like this, there’s no need for the party or our organization to continue.”
“People don’t understand the word ruthless. They think it means ‘mean.’ It’s not about being mean. It’s about seeing the bright, clear line that leads from A to B. The line that goes from motive to means. Beginning to end. It’s about seeing that bright, clear line and not caring about anything but the beautiful fact that you can see the solution. Not caring about anything else but the perfection of it.”

“All I want is for mother to see me as her son.”
My interpretation on SLBP Masamune during his teen days.
Some of Kageie’s background story was revealed in the latest Tenka event before his MS will come out…
I’d like to put here my summary.
–
After his father and mother’s deaths. His uncle took hold of the head of the family and drove him off the castle together with his younger brother (Norikage) who was suffered from heart’s illness and needed medicine for living.
He found himself an underground job which later his skill was impressed and hired by a samurai then he slowly made his recognition as a good fighter.
Fate shifted when his younger brother was killed by those who served the same samurai. After that he lived his life with no strings attached, never had any home, never trust or be in deep relationship with anyone.
Returned himself to his underground job. One day…surrounded by too many opponents. He fled to a woman who he was recently with but obviously…was rejected.
Severely wounded with noone and no place to return to. Rolling like a garbage…he started to lose all hope in everything even a string of his own life.
Then emerged before his bloody blurry eyes…
A strangely beautiful figure in beautiful hagama…
「Will you come with me?」
Words that had brought an unexpected road. He stared up to that eyes…eyes that full of melancholy as much as his then a finger pointed to his chest had opened the path that light could shine through…
That’s how Kageie has come to Lord Kenshin.
After the honors are given to blushing lords, MC and the player whispered amongst each other...
MC: I do not mind if my Lord blush or not, what is important he knows just how much I love him and he, too, values me also?
Player: *looks at MC* But what if he lies and is only using you? What if he speaks trash and insults you? What if he gets bored, get drunk and sleeps with other women? What if he got god complex and sees women as mere decoration and forces himself on you? In the end...most of them are BOORS!
MC: *silenct pause and smiled suggestively* I see...you only said that because you like me, don't you?
Player: I care about yo--- (*sees MC blushing in their direction*) wait! No! Its not what you think!
MC: Oh..*gives player a sultry smile* but you are blushing, now.
Player: THAT IS NOT TRUE! (oh no!) I am only concerned that my handsome hubbies might hurt you!
MC: *eyes wide and shocked face* ...
Player: (My God what did I just say??) Well...sh*t!
Hahaha somehow this thought bugged my mind and can't help sharing this...
Who blushes the most in SLBP?
The latest Lord of the Draw brings up an interesting question: which lords (and ninjas) are most prone to blushing in SLBP, and which the least? It’s definitely a matter worthy of analysis!
1. Yukimura Does anyone in SLBP blush more than Yukimura? Fandom’s sweetheart is unused to the ways of love and women and his face (and Saizo’s running commentary) makes sure everyone knows it.
2. Inuchiyo A close contender, Inuchiyo blushes every time he has a dirty thought about MC, acts on a dirty thought about MC, or feels guilty for acting on a dirty thought about MC. So, you know, constantly.
3. Mitsunari The first of the tsunderes! Mitsunari is usually quite matter of fact, but when love is involved his face lights up like a tomato (…if tomatoes lit up).
4. Masamune Our shy boy doesn’t blush so much at romantic love as the thought of anyone loving him at all. Compliments are the quickest way to an embarrassed but pleased red face.
5. Kyoichiro He wouldn’t be blushing at all if you hadn’t gone and done something so stupid, baka!
6. Ieyasu I’m sure Ieyasu would be outraged to be so high on this list, but otome tsunderes need some way to convey their true feelings. If he’s gonna lie with that mouth his cheeks will have to do the truth-telling for him.
7. Hotaru Like Yukimura, Hotaru has very little experience with love or women, but unlike Yukimura, Hotaru doesn’t know enough about societal norms to be embarrassed (most of the time). Most of his blushes are guilt-induced rather than MC-induced.
8. Sakuya Sakuya’s a reasonably good actor and can keep his face impressively stony under most circumstances, but just let MC bare a little bit of flesh when he’s not expecting it and there he goes.
9. Genya He’s an easy-going guy with a lot of life experience. He’s not gonna blush at the little things (though he’ll tease you for doing so), but he’s just as susceptible as his twin to MC’s charms and not nearly as dedicated to hiding it.
10. Shigezane All of Omori loves his smile, but his blushing face is quite nice too. Like Genya, he’s both experienced with the world and open with his emotions.
11. Kojuro He strives to always look neutral, but he’s still a red-blooded man and just can’t help it sometimes.
12. Mitsuhide Ditto. Out of bias I have concluded he’d be ever so slightly better at hiding his blushes than Kojuro, plus he’s got that reputation as a “perfect” samurai to uphold.
13. Saizo Wishes he was lower on the list, but can’t help it when MC wears that ribbon dress.
14. Sasuke It takes a lot to make Sasuke blush after everything he’s done in life (and the bedroom).
15. Nobunaga What do you have to blush about when you’re the best in the world, the grand unifier, and deserving of everything?
16. Hideyoshi He’s had a thousand lovers and is amazing on the battlefield. What’s to blush about?
17. Shingen See: Hideyoshi (but older).
18. Kenshin Completely lacking in shame. Probably the only person who can make Shingen blush.
19. Hanzo If he blushes, I assume it’s through careful ninja makeup trickery and is somehow part of a plot of tease either Ieyasu or MC.
In the end, I reverted back to Bamboo Green BG. Its just too pink for me. 😩
Cute pink motif…NOT BAD 😅😅😅😅
Must stop PLAYING!😨😨
Any idea or hc about what if...Ikemen Hideyoshi and SLBP Hideyoshi are at war against each other. No need to state who would likely win...just how would they deal with each other haha. I have a very soft spot for both guys.
Hey @aedysa! Thanks for another fun ask :) Gosh, IkeSen and SLBP are such different beasts, it’s so hard to say how they would deal! But here are some of my guesses:
You know that saying about how the only options when faced with a clone of yourself is to fight or f*ck? Guess which one SLBP Hideyoshi, famed for having 1000 previous lovers, would try to go for. ;D IkeSen H is a little suspicious by nature, but there’s a good chance this whole war could be averted from the get-go. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Let’s assume SLBP Hideyoshi gets rejected, and war does break out. SLBP Hideyoshi definitely needs to watch himself, because every named character in IkeSen has rock solid plot armor, and well…SLBP is definitely a bit more of a gamble, now isn’t it? ^_^
In terms of allies, IkeSen Hideyoshi’s at a huge advantage. There’s no way his true love battle-happy boss Nobunaga wouldn’t rally the entire Oda army to help the guy out. SLBP Nobunaga doesn’t seem to have the best track record with coming through for his subordinates though, and the Date’s also aren’t on Team Nobunaga in the SLBP world, so let’s hope for SLBP H’s sake that this war takes place after Inuchiyo reunites with the Maeda clan and can bring additional reinforcements…!
The worst thing SLBP Hideyoshi could possibly do in this war is to go after IkeSen Nobunaga. That’s how you activate IkeSen H’s protective/suicidal berserker mode, after all. Which might turn out great for SLBP H, but it’s also dangerous af.
One thing SLBP Hideyoshi has that IkeSen Hideyoshi doesn’t have is ninjas. Granted, his designated ninja, Kyoichiro, isn’t exactly in top fighting form. But I’m sure he can muster up the resources to pay someone from Iga to try and off Ikesen Hideyoshi in the dead of night! Would that be an overly dirty trick? Maybe, but we all know SLBP Hideyoshi is way sneakier than IkeSen Hideyoshi, who has a super strong sense of fair play! It could happen.
Are our Hideyoshi’s respective MC’s there? Chef MC probably isn’t anywhere near the battlefield, but everyone’s favorite chatelaine is gonna be hanging out as Nobunaga’s lucky charm. And where she goes, time wormholes and thunder storms follow! So whichever way this war goes, expect dramatic weather conditions.
At the end of the day, I don’t think our two lovely boys would fight for all too long. They’re both really sensible people, after all. The war would likely end with the both of them bonding over their shared love/respect of Nobunaga, and lots of amusement over how very different their respective Mitsuhide’s and Mitsunari’s are. SLBP Hideyoshi would quickly realize how much of a lightweight IkeSen Hideyoshi is with alcohol, and…well. Keiji’s gonna be one happy guy with both Hideyoshi’s around and ready to be kissed 😂
Hope that answers your question!! 💕
GOOD LORD !!😨😨😨!!
someone has waited their entire career to use this headline
My blood is boiling in anger how these men regard women in battle….poor MC! 😖😖
I wish I could sew their mouths shut.
Hideyoshi and cute
Ok let it never be said that you don’t know what you want. ;)
“Pick one.”
Hideyoshi hands you a box, small and cute and ribbon-bound but unmistakable, a gilded logo winking atop from the chocolate shop you’d mentioned was the thing you missed most about your hometown. The plaza is busy, shoppers milling about and the faint strains of carols slipping out of the warm shops each time one of the doors opens up, but there is a bit of peace in the shade of the towering crown jewel of the enormous Christmas tree, and the twinkle of the tree lights behind you is mirrored in his mischievous grin.
Bemused, you ease the top open, only to blink at the single truffle nestled carefully in tissue within. “There is only one,” you say, confusion wrinkling your brow as you reach in to lift it out.
“Exactly.” Hideyoshi laughs, only it sounds a bit off, and you realize when you blink up from the chocolate in your palm that its because he’s kneeling before you. “Just like…there’s only one woman I love, and only one woman for me.” He takes the box from your nerveless fingers and pulls out the ring that had been hiding beneath the sweet. “I know you have countless choices out there…but I’m hoping that you’ll say there’s only one for you too.”
He holds the ring out, and its only because it catches the shimmer of the tree that you can see how his hand trembles, as if it bears the weight of ever so much more than a bit of gold and gem. “Marry me?” he asks, in a voice that shakes ever so slightly too, and you realize it’s the only time you’ve ever heard him sound unsure.
“Yes, yes, of course!” you say, or at least you think you say. It doesn’t matter much because the next moment your arms are around him and his lips are on yours, hot and fervent. Somewhere in the dizzying gasp of it, you realize the chocolate has slipped from your grasp to fall on the ground…but it doesn’t even matter. How could it, when these kisses, and the promise of a lifetime of them, are sweeter than any confection ever could be?
You know…if I didn’t know better Lady Yoshihime can be the worst evil LOVE RIVAL for Lord Kojuro’s affection until you knew the truth behind that woman.
Our daily greeting...
Brother: Hey, B*tch!
Me: Hello, Hent*ii
it really is next to impossible to write realistic sibling dialogue, I just passed my brother on the stairs and instead of greeting each other like human beings I said ‘born survivor’ and he said ‘youtube rewind. let’s set it to rewind.’ like you ain’t gonna find that shit in a novel
I haven't done Saizo or any Tsuki Routes...but...Just asking, who do you think will win in a ninja duel? Hanzo Masanari or Saizo? Because from what I read so far, Hanzo is also a good ninja.
OMG @aedysa, thank you so much for this entertaining ask!! 😂I haven’t done Saizo’s route yet, but let me try to answer to the best of my abilities! :) First off, we have to consider the environment: Saizo is weak to rain, so in the case of bad weather, Hanzo is going to win, hands down.
But let’s assume it’s a sunny day (or a clear night), and our ninjas can’t bring allies, because that would get complicated. You’re right that both Saizo and Hanzo are considered excellent ninjas. We all know about Saizo’s skills, and Hanzo didn’t stay alive as future chief of his village by sitting pretty. That said, much as I hate to say it, I suspect Saizo would have a slight edge in a direct face-off. Here’s why:
Skillset: Hanzo’s a great fighter, yes, but if leveling up your ninja skills works the way it does in video games, Hanzo’s “wasted” a good fraction of his skill points on the charisma/seduction tech tree. Meanwhile, Saizo seems to have gone all in on fighting. People skills won’t help you in a ninja duel, probably (unless Hanzo plans to seduce Saizo?!?! I’d definitely buy that story, lmao).
Experience: Hanzo spends his days plotting/doing snakey things, trolling people, and helping Sakai grow strawberries. Meanwhile, when Saizo isn’t sleeping, he’s either actively training or going on the most dangerous ninja missions. I’m not saying Hanzo’s rusty (far from it), but Saizo’s ninja skills are going to be razor sharp in comparison. Also the one time Hanzo was sent on a mission with Saizo (street fair story), Hanzo made Saizo do all the killing, which seems to corroborate my theory.
Weapons: Hanzo uses throwing needles and something that looks like a claw. Saizo uses a vicious blade (sometimes two). Both of them use throwing knives. Anyways, throwing weapons are a finite resource, so let’s talk about close combat. Blades are longer than claws, so I assume they have a slightly wider range. Also, assuming you have the strength to handle a blade, which Saizo obviously has, if you move your arm at the same speed, a longer weapon (blade) will move faster than a shorter one (claw), which also seems like a good thing, giving Saizo the overall slight advantage.
Hair: Hanzo’s luscious locks, aka one of his greatest assets, would also prove to be his greatest downfall. He might be able to fight skillfully without his beautiful, silky hair getting in the way against most opponents, but hair isn’t something Saizo has to even think about when fighting. Point to Saizo for practicality.
Clothes: Similarly, Hanzo’s clothes are very pretty, but a lot bulkier than Saizo’s super hot skin-tight ninja outfit. This puts Saizo at a huge advantage in terms of speed and maneuverability! That said, Hanzo can hide more throwing knives on his person with that outfit, so I suppose in a long-term ranged duel, he’d be all right…
To recap, imho Saizo is more likely to win in a ninja face-off against Hanzo (happy to field counter-arguments!). But if you like Hanzo as much as I do, there’s no need to fret! Don’t forget that Hanzo is a slippery snake who, like Saizo, seems to have magic ninja vanishing abilities. So when the situation is no longer in his favor, he’ll be able to gtfo. And maybe that’s why we don’t hear about the Iga ninjas fighting each other all that often. ^_^
Hope that answered your question! :) Anyone reading this: feel free to send more fun asks my way, lmao. The box is always open!!
God, Toyotomi Hideyoshi was the worst person.
From Taiko by Eiji Yoshikawa
This part occured after Nobunaga's death. Hideyoshi and Shibata Katsuie (Nobu's senior retainer and an NPC in SLBP) had a fallout and after many schemes and faction disputes later, they fought in the Battle of Shizugatake in which Katsuie lost. When I read this part, I was awed.
As a player of both IkeSen and slbp, I have seen the loyalty and brotherly love of ikesen!Hide (the "mother hen"of Azuchi lol) and the clever mischief of SLBP!Hide, but this book opened my eyes to this cunning man whose mind is as dangerous as he is kind (and loyal) to his allies. He had no qualms using "borrowed knife" tactics against his enemies: a proof of how scary he is, if his mind is used as a weapon. So unless you are Ieyasu, you'll never see him coming....
I know he is depicted as a clever man in history (...like he coaxes the bird to sing proverb...) but this novel goes beyond my expectations. Not that I dislike him (In fact I respect this man for beating odds to unify Japan), but one can just imagine how the wars shape good men to do what we consider "evil" or "underhanded" means to achieve peace.
