Hi Everyone!
I’m feeling like I’m adding to ‘another bites the dust’ in terms of writers dropping to their knees and needing financial assistance.
My backstory (I don’t want sympathy, I just want you all to understand why I hate that I am doing this) is that 9th May 2018, I stood up from my office chair and I was in agonising pain. I could barely walk, stand or sit, and my job became nearly impossible to do, but I needed the money to continue since they didn’t pay me sick. There was general concern over the pain location and the issues since I was starting to lose the sensation down my legs and feet quickly. Then my life unfortunately completely changed on the 13th June 2018, I ended up admitted to a hospital the following morning and I have ended up resigning from my job because of the pressures I was facing in both my medical treatment and my boss refusing to accept that I wasn’t going to just return to work. As a result, me and my husband are literally scraping by and just being able to afford our bills. I am in a much better place than others, and I will admit that. But it doesn’t cover the additional costs such as all my travelling to and from a major hospital 20 miles away and the car repairs. I’ve gone from a well-paying job to just being able to manage to pay the bills.
I am open to offers but this is my baseline charge:
£3 - 500 words £5 - 1000 words £10 - 2000 words (I will send the first 500 words as a preview to ensure that you are happy with the way things are going) £15 - 3000 words (I will send the first 500 words as a preview to ensure that you are happy with the way things are going) ~ anything more than this I will write on a sliding scale and the first 750 words will be sent to ensure that you are happy.
I am willing to write for the following fandoms: - Ikémen Sengoku: Nobunaga, Masamune, Hideyoshi, Mitsunari, Mitsuhide, Kenshin, Shingen, Sasuke - Ikémen Revolution: Loki, Oliver, Seth, Jonah - Love, Lies & a Heist: Ryan, Noel, Luca, Ewan, Logan - Marvel Universe: Black Widow, Ironman, Spiderman, Captain America, Winter Soldier, Falcon, War Machine, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Doctor Strange, Pepper Potts, Antman, Wasp, Black Panther - Harry Potter Universe: Most characters - please enquire - Mystic Messenger: Jumin Han, Zen, Yoosung, Seven, Jaehee -Midnight Cinderella: Giles, Sid, Byron, Nico, Leo, Albert, Alyn -Arcana: Nadia, Julian, Portia, Asra
I will require you to be as detailed as possible in your request as possible. I will do AUs, NSFW, angst and fluff. I am willing to add in original characters to things providing that you give me enough of a character to work into my story. I am willing to ship characters with each other and I will do crossovers.
Basically, if you have an idea, I will do my best to fulfil your request, but I also reserve the right to refuse to write something I am not comfortable with. I require payment up front instead of on completion. Please feel free to message me with any questions, but also be aware that anything nasty will be posted on my blog complete with a free mocking from myself and others are likely.
I will take payment by Paypal for this, or Ko-Fi.
I love you guys. Thank you for listening.

Ns sucks . So what if someone leaves sg to evade it ? Why serve an abusive regime like the PAP?
I don’t know about you, but the PAP-dominated Singapore government is grasping at straws here to retain its male citizens while churning out policies that do not make sense while at the same time making the lives of normal Singaporeans unbearable. MINDEF and CMPB have strict rules when it relates to travel visa for its male citizens who are liable for NS. They practically require Exit Permits for almost everything relating to these NS slaves. If you don’t follow their rules, you get punished, with a fine, or jail time. Not only that, Singaporean boys who emigrated when they were young also must come back to serve NS, otherwise they face fines or go to jail also. Makes absolutely no sense especially when these kids already have foreign citizenship. The worst is that these boys are not even allowed to renounce their Singaporean citizenship prior to serving NS. See the case of the New Zealand teen being ordered to come back to Singapore to serve NS.
You know what this means right? Yes, the PAP is forcing these young boys to serve NS first, then renounce citizenship. This is an outright abuse of their power. Even after the age of 40, when these emigrants have already been away from Singapore for more than at least 22 years, these male citizens are still forbidden from renouncing their citizenship until they have come back to Singapore to face the ruling of the courts for Exit Permit violations. Of course, which of these men would want to return to face jail time, when they can enjoy their freedom and clean air in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand? None! And you know what else is funny? Singapore does not even need NS any more; in fact, Singapore can afford to have a professional SAF. NS is pure propaganda to “control and tame” the young men in this country, so that they do not revolt against their PAP overlords after all the brainwashing in primary school, secondary school, JC, and finally NS.

Slight Canon Divergence. Behind the scenes that occur in Hideyoshi MS, but in Maeda Toshiie’s POV.
What were Toshiie’s thoughts after he was exiled by Lord Nobunaga?
Toshiie hated waiting.
And thus, he sparred with a lone training dummy in the middle of the courtyard in an effort to improve his martial skills, despite knowing that most of his peers cannot best him. Dusk was falling, and the next day, the army would set off towards the battlefield. None of his former mentor’s retainers went out to train along with him in order to get ready for the upcoming war.
For months the young man had prepared himself for the big event; one that would determine his fate as a samurai. He had trained with his former colleagues, participated in mock battles together with the regiment of Lord Shibata Katsuie, one of the senior retainers of Oda clan and Toshiie’s former teacher. And even though the young man was “officially” a ronin for incurring the wrath of his former liege lord, he is still well-respected; enough to warrant a warm welcome within the estate of the lord commander, who treats the youth like his own son.
When evening falls, there will sometimes be sudden torrential rains. The skies were overcast and Toshiie could see dark heavy clouds shrouded the dignified Kiyosu castle from afar like a cage. His rain-soaked purple kimono swayed languidly everytime he moves that the top hem of his robes started to become undone. He adjusted it afterwards. He could hear the trees rustling due to the strong winds that passed them by.
Despite the downpour, however, Toshiie didn’t stop his exercises. He could hear the loud clack whenever his weapon hit the dummy, and whooshing sounds as he maneuvered his practice spear. For a moment, his focus was on his target. The next, however, his mind began to wander as he recalled some of his memories. He gripped his weapon hard that his knuckles went white as his past flashed before his eyes like an old painting.

Did Hideyoshi and Nobunaga have a close relationship?
Personal relationships is always hard to judge if there’s no concrete evidence for it (e.g letters/diaries that discuss personal feelings). The only thing we can know for certain is that Nobunaga valued Hideyoshi as a capable vassal.
There’s text establishing that Hideyoshi is someone who owns some land/property as of 1565. He started working for the Oda anywhere from 1554-1560. If he really did start out as just a servant, that’s a considerably fast rise in rank.
Also, I would think he had been quite privileged to be allowed to adopt one of Nobunaga’s sons. I don’t know if there’s a precedent for this in other families, but with Nobunaga this is the only time he allowed this. Nobunaga’s other sons that were adopted out were meant to “peacefully” conquer the other clans (the Kitabatake and the Kanbe), or was adopted out as part of peace treaty (with the Takeda).
Reblog because I must
Could you please give me something like a list of things that need to be determined about a character, more than just age, height, gender and things like that, please i need like a list of as many as possible 💕💕💕 your blog is a miracle
I will try my best. This is a list I usually try to conform to (but I have it stored in my head, rather than as a physical list, so apologies if it doesn’t make much sense…!):
Character motivation. What are they doing? Why are they doing it?
Backstory. What happened before their debut in the story?
Greatest fear. Speaks for itself; what do they fear most?
Relationships with other characters. Who do they like? Who do they not like? Who opposes them? Who helps them? Who are they related to (by blood, or circumstance)?
Main personality traits. Positive ones, and negative ones.
Moral limits. What will they absolutely not do? What would they consider doing to meet their goal?
Attitudes/Opinions. What are the main issues in your story’s world, and what is this character’s opinion on it? How do they behave towards other characters, based on their opinions of them? Who or what do they consider to be below them? What behaviours do they choose to do or not do, which gives them a sense of importance/self-esteem (i.e. being tee-total, going to church every Sunday w/o fail, always adopting pets, rather than buying them, etc)?
Abilities. Either magical, or non-magical depending on your setting. What are they best at? What are they not so good at?
Speaking skills/conventions. How do they sound when they speak? What is their vocabulary like? How do they manage/behave in everyday conversations?
Education. According to your world’s standards, how educated is the character?
Family. How were they brought up? What was their family situation like?
Friendships. Which friendships do they value the most? How many friends do they have? How easily can they make friends?
Sexual/romantic relationships. How many relationships has the character committed to? Can they commit to relationships? How do they behave when in a relationship? How do they feel about other people’s relationships?
Work. What do they think about work? What kind of work would they like to do? What kind of work are they doing? If the character is a student, then consider their work ethic, their favourite subjects, etc.
Sense of self. What is your character’s self-image like? How do they feel about themselves? What do they think about themselves in relation to other people (i.e. how do they compare themselves to somebody else?).
Health. Speaks for itself; what is this character’s health like? In the past, in the present, and in the future?
Housekeeping. How do they live, in an everyday setting? Are they tidy, or messy? What things do they consider to be necessary to a daily routine, and what things do they consistently forget about/deem to be unimportant?
Politics. How they view society, and what should be done in a ‘civil’ society. What they think of their world’s politics. How they might ‘class’ themselves.
Religion. Their views on life, death, and creation. Their understanding of their ‘purpose’, or their beliefs in how everything came to be.
Tastes. In fashion, food, and anything else you might think of.
I hope this helps, Anon! Maybe some of our followers might reblog this and add extra things, or you might think of extra things you can add yourself. Feel free to do so, if this is the case!

Reblog for future reference
Actually
The question I get the most is how I write characters that feel like real people.
Generally when I’m designing a human being, I deconstruct them into 7 major categories:
1. Primary Drive 2. Fear: Major and Secondary 3. Physical Desires 4. Style of self expression 5. How they express affection 6. What controls them (what they are weak for) 7. What part of them will change.
1. Primary Drive: This is generally related to the plot. What are their plot related goals? How are they pulling the plot forward? how do they make decisions? What do they think they’re doing and how do they justify doing it. 2. Fear: First, what is their deep fear? Abandonment? being consumed by power? etc. Second: tiny fears. Spiders. someone licking their neck. Small things that bother them. At least 4. 3. Physical desires. How they feel about touch. What is their perceived sexual/romantic orientation. Do their physical desires match up with their psychological desires.
4. Style of self expression: How they talk. Are they shy? Do they like to joke around and if so, how? Are they anxious or confident internally and how do they express that externally. What do words mean to them? More or less than actions? Does their socioeconomic background affect the way they present themselves socially? 5. How they express affection: Do they express affection through actions or words. Is expressing affection easy for them or not. How quickly do they open up to someone they like. Does their affection match up with their physical desires. how does the way they show their friends that they love them differ from how they show a potential love interest that they love them. is affection something they struggle with?
6. What controls them (what they are weak for): what are they almost entirely helpless against. What is something that influences them regardless of their own moral code. What– if driven to the end of the wire— would they reject sacrificing. What/who would they cut off their own finger for. What would they kill for, if pushed. What makes them want to curl up and never go outside again from pain. What makes them sink to their knees from weakness or relief. What would make them weep tears of joy regardless where they were and who they were in front of.
7. WHAT PART OF THEM WILL CHANGE: people develop over time. At least two of the above six categories will be altered by the storyline–either to an extreme or whittled down to nothing. When a person experiences trauma, their primary fear may change, or how they express affection may change, etc. By the time your book is over, they should have developed. And its important to decide which parts of them will be the ones that slowly get altered so you can work on monitoring it as you write. making it congruent with the plot instead of just a reaction to the plot.
That’s it.
But most of all, you have to treat this like you’re developing a human being. Not a “character” a living breathing person. When you talk, you use their voice. If you want them to say something and it doesn’t seem like (based on the seven characteristics above) that they would say it, what would they say instead?
If they must do something that’s forced by the plot, that they wouldn’t do based on their seven options, they can still do the thing, but how would they feel internally about doing it?
How do their seven characteristics meet/ meld with someone else’s seven and how will they change each other?
Once you can come up with all the answers to all of these questions, you begin to know your character like you’d know one of your friends. When you can place them in any AU and know how they would react.
They start to breathe.
@otome-reviews Remember when I asked you about Masanari and Saizo in a duel...Saizo pretty much owns the snake man in melee due to his long hair. 😀
Is it not yet completely insane for someone who engages in combat a lot to have long, say shoulder-length, hair? I saw your posts about armour and put two and two together when you said anything that can be grabbed isn’t that good of an idea, so hair…?
This one’s pretty simple; you’ve identified one of the two main issues.
So, long hair is a detriment to combat effectiveness, but it’s not terminal. You don’t want hair that will get in the way, and you don’t want hair that can be grabbed. After that, do what you want.
So, long hair will, usually, get in the way. No matter your best intentions, it’ll fall in front of your face, get in your eyes, and, generally, make a nuisance out of itself at every opportunity. Before someone tries to come down on me for this: I’ve had long hair for most of my life. I know.
The simplest answer is: You bind it back in a tight ponytail; that will keep it out of the way. Historically, this has been men’s fashion in a number of cultures. Ideally a shorter ponytail is better than a longer one, but to some extent, it doesn’t matter. Buns are also an option, as are dreadlocks and tight braids. Anything that keeps the hair out of the way will do the job.
So, why bother? Because in colder climates, long hair will keep your head warm. Hair is a fantastic insulator, and if you’re living on a tundra, that will help keep your head warm when you’re out working. When you’re fighting, you’ll probably want to tie it back.
The other reason is, yes, someone can grab you by your hair. There’s a couple caveats here, and they depend on the kind of combat you’re in. In a fight with bladed weapons, going for someone’s hair is a good way to get carved up. You’re giving up one hand, and limiting your mobility, and hoping your opponent won’t use one hand to grab your weapon arm, and the other one to run you through repeatedly. This is less of a consideration if your foe is wearing armor, though, at that point, you probably are as well, and getting into the situation in the first place is going to be harder.
Also, ponytails blunt the effect of having your hair pulled. I suspect this has something to do with how it distributes the force across the scalp, but a ponytail will not offer the same control grabbing a fist full of loose hair will.
In ranged combat, somewhat obviously, you’re not going to be getting a grip on someone’s hair, and some the same considerations apply as the previous example. If you do get in close enough to grab their hair, they’ll probably pump a couple rounds into you.
Not, strictly related, but long hair can be a detriment when working around heavy machinery. If it gets caught, it can get pulled in. So, that’s something else to avoid. At that point, even the ponytail can be serious safety issue. This is more of a general, “yeah, long hair can be a detriment, than a specific issue, and shoulder length shouldn’t be a problem.
So, no, nothing insane about having hair, that’s normal, and long hair is common enough, but it does come with special considerations.

Q&A: Long Hair was originally published on How to Fight Write.
I’ve said this to my non-techie friends countless times. It’s no secret that being able to code makes you a better job applicant, and a better entrepreneur. Hell, one techie taught a homeless man to code and now that man is making his first mobile application.
Learning to code elevates your professional life, and makes you more knowledgeable about the massive changes taking place in the technology sector that are poised to have an immense influence on human life.
(note: yes I realize that 3/5 of those links were Google projects)
But most folks are intimidated by coding. And it does seem intimidating at first. But peel away the obscurity and the difficulty, and you start to learn that coding, at least at its basic level, is a very manageable, learnable skill.
There are a lot of resources out there to teach you. I’ve found a couple to be particularly successful. Here’s my list of resources for learning to code, sorted by difficulty:
Novice
Never written a line of code before? No worries. Just visit one of these fine resources and follow their high-level tutorials. You won’t get into the nitty-gritty, but don’t worry about it for now:
Dash - by General Assembly
CodeAcademy
w3 Tutorials (start at HTML on the left sidebar and work your way down)
Intermediate
Now that you’ve gone through a handful of basic tutorials, it’s time to learn the fundamentals of actual, real-life coding problems. I’ve found these resources to be solid:
Khan Academy
CodeAcademy - Ruby, Python, PHP
Difficult
If you’re here, you’re capable of building things. You know the primitives. You know the logic control statements. You’re ready to start making real stuff take shape. Here are some different types of resources to turn you from someone who knows how to code, into a full-fledged programmer.
Programming problems
Sometimes, the challenges in programming aren’t how to make a language do a task, but just how to do the task in general. Like how to find an item in a very large, sorted list, without checking each element. Here are some resources for those types of problems
Talentbuddy
TopCoder
Web Applications
If you learned Python, Django is an amazing platform for creating quick-and-easy web applications. I’d highly suggest the tutorial - it’s one of the best I’ve ever used, and you have a web app up and running in less than an hour.
Django Tutorial
I’ve never used Rails, but it’s a very popular and powerful framework for creating web applications using Ruby. I’d suggest going through their guide to start getting down-and-dirty with Rails development.
Rails Guide
If you know PHP, there’s an ocean of good stuff out there for you to learn how to make a full-fledged web application. Frameworks do a lot of work for you, and provide quick and easy guides to get up and running. I’d suggest the following:
Cake PHP Book
Symfony 2 - Get Started
Yii PHP - The Comprehensive Guide
Conclusion
If there’s one point I wanted to get across, it’s that it is easier than ever to learn to code. There are resources on every corner of the internet for potential programmers, and the benefits of learning even just the basics are monumental.
If you know of any additional, great resources that aren’t listed here, please feel free to tweet them to me @boomeyer.
Best of luck!
As the result of my otome survey with 800 respondents, here is an in-depth analysis of the results, comparing and finding common links between players.
It seems the biggest two groups in otome are those that self-insert and those that don’t. Then there’s the groups who enjoy more focus on story, and those that enjoy more focus on romance.
Basically, otome players have a variety of likes and needs. Any otome developer will find it useful to read through this article!
Please share so that more indie devs can find this article and better understand their players :)
