It's so interesting how the way Ros has described the kingdom is the way Pangi described Bad and Pili to him - a family. Yet their definition of what that dynamic entails is so so different.

For Ros, family is about holding the line, standing through thick and thin, and if necessary, falling so others don’t have to. It’s loyalty sharpened into steel, protection worn like armor, love proven through sacrifice. To her, devotion isn’t just about being there—it’s about what you’re willing to give up to keep them safe. Even if that means losing herself in the process.

Meanwhile, for Pangi, family is trust—not just in their strength, but in their choices, even when those choices lead to ruin. It’s about standing beside them, not in front of them, watching them step into the fire and believing in them enough to let them burn if that’s what they choose. you know, i totally get that people want to stick to regulus being tough and cruel because we have softened him too much, and i agree at the most part, but i also feel like regulus is so sensitive. he was a caring, loving child, the complete opposite of who he became. so within that, if you find a way in, he becomes just as sickenley loving. he cannot bare anything casual. he loves with his whole being. consumes. engulfs. he sleeps with stuffed animals. he needs barty to hold his hand when he panics in class. he is, in the words of mistki, a tall child.

i think a nalu element that doesn't get talked about enough is the fact that pre-series, natsu doesn't really hang out with a lot of people. yes, he loves his friends and family but there are few people he actively likes to or wants to spend time with before lucy. it's just him and happy for the most part but then he meets lucy he's like "yeah, she's cool, we're going to be best friends from now on" and then for the most part they're basically inseparable after that

he wants to team up with her because she's nice, and she is, but there's a lot of people in the guild who are nice. in my silly little brain palace i just think that natsu just vibes with her so much from the very beginning that he just feels so compelled to be with her that after years of going solo he suddenly wants to form a team with this girl that he's know for like what, a week? yeah she's not the strongest and at that point she's a little whiny and hasn't grown into the smart mage she is now, but i think that even though natsu sees the potential in her, he doesn't really care about that in that moment. he just sees her and nice and funny and caring and he thinks that she's cool so he wants to be around her more

i also like to think about the idea that lucy just thinks natsu has always been eager to be around people and has no idea that she's the only one that has this effect on him

i don't think i'll ever get over how MUCH ranboo knows about internet culture. IRL his story is unreal, and in the DSMP his story is....uhhh...."familiar" you could say

Evan is dominant in that he needs you to know you are below him, if you fight him too much he’ll just leave. He believes he is above everyone with no hesitance or doubt and you will learn to agree if you’re going to spend any time close to him. Whether it’s sexual or romantic or platonic or even professional, you will learn. He’s not like regulus or Barty, he can’t bend himself backwards towards a facade of weakness for the sake of a safe place for vulnerability, he doesn’t have vulnerability.

Regulus is dominant in that he needs to control every aspect of your life or he will kill himself. You don’t have to know that he controls your life but you do have to conform to it and you do have to be happy about it. He truly believes his love for someone means he has a claim over them. (It’s one of the many traits and beliefs he inherited directly from Orion.) He’s not like Evan where he needs to own you, but you need to need him.

Barty is dominant in that he needs you in arms reach at all times and if you try to run he will chase you until you either put him down or he puts you down. He doesn’t want to control you, he doesn’t want you to need him, he needs you to want to stay. He’s not like regulus where he needs you to submit to him, he needs you to choose him every time without wavering. No matter what he puts you through, what you put him through, you will be forever if you stay.
