Idea: rather than project all his childhood insecurities on his children, Hiccup holds Zephyr (or Tiny 👀) for the first time and he cries for himself as well because he holds this newborn, his first, and he can't ever imagine casting this child out like he was once casted out for so long that acceptance from the enemy was enough for him.

I’m genuinely considering writing a AU fic where Valka isn’t taken away to see if it would be a fun story/character study. It would be a one shot and from Valka’s perspective. Im either thinking of a narrative type or a ‘the many ways things could have gone down.’

I just got the idea of a time loop situation or a what if type fic of like ‘5 ways in which Valka’s decisions changed httyd’ or something.

Let me know if that’s something anyone wants or if anyone is interested in.

Hiccup had never been your ordinary Viking. He wasn’t tall, or muscular, or fixated on killing dragons like the rest of his peers. He was… different. And not in a good way. This all changed however, when he met Toothless. Toothless was different too. And now everything had changed since then, the Vikings had made peace with the dragons, and the dragons with the Vikings. Now Hiccup was free to pursue his real passion.

I think there’s some fun in it. I have a big love for the series and even though I dislike pointless remakes, I do want to compare them via big screen. Also I never had the chance to listen to test drive on the big screen. That’s a small part of it.

It’s me mainly wanting to consume more httyd content, even if it’s a semi lifeless remake.

Who knows, with the original directors on it, maybe it’ll be good.

As much as I hate on Valka for abandoning her kid and being a shit mother, things really wouldn’t be better with her there.

Imagine having a extremest dragon hating father and an extremest dragon loving mother. It would be agony.

Hiccup is smart and smart in the way he can read people. He’s socially aware.

I imagine Valka would try to get Hiccup to share her love of dragons with her but it would probably backfire.

Hiccup in an already isolated world where killing a dragon is everything and is his only hope at becoming liked would not react well to being told to be friendly with the beasts. Imagine Hiccup being further bullied for his ‘crazy’ mother who loves dragons.

Hiccup canonly admired his dragon killing dad. Hiccup canonly did not give a crap about saving or being friends with dragons before Toothless.

It wouldn’t work in the long run either because there is now a high chance Hiccup wouldn’t become Gobber apprentice because Valka is now there. Which means no Toothless.

Hiccup would be further isolated. And from what I can tell, Valka is just like Stoick in the sense that she is driven by her extremest ideologies and doesn’t listen. Like Stoick she would push her own wants and desires onto Hiccup.

Watched the latest httyd live action trailer and there are so many lines that just do not hit the mark oh my lordy lord.

In the 2010 version the fight between Hiccup and Stoick in the great hall has such good line delivery.

"They've killed hundreds of us,"

"And we've killed thousands of them,"

THAT GOES SO HARD... when animated

The live action just makes it feel really fucking goofy. It gives off 'angry teenager that got phone taken off him,' vibes more than 'son technically just commit treason and just found that one island the tribe has been searching for for centuries.'

It's more of a frustrated screaming match than an intense character and story moment that has a massive impact on the plot.

As much as I tolerate HTTYD 3, I do love ‘Together from afar’ and every piece of the soundtrack. John Powell and Jónsi my love, you made this movie tolerable.

Httyd dragon names would go so hard as shots. Pull up to the bar and ask for a shot of Deadly Nadder? A glass of Red death? Pint of Triple stryke?
