I've had a DC x DP prompt/fic idea and I'd thought I'd share.

Danny, who has been dragged into taken over the role of High King, has been going through some of the paperwork that it entails. Of course, he's still baby ghost so CW and the others actually help with most the stuff, but he had some free time after being chased out of his house and injured (it'd been a few months since then).

Either way, he finds a particular line of complaints. He was never one to engage in it, but many of his subject, of which fall under the demon category, are complaining about a soul they can't collect. Danny personally finds it kind of funny. He sets those ones aside for now though, and continues doing whatever.

A few months later, he's summoned via some magic user, probably Klarion, and is now in front of the JL and a tiny wayward chaos maker. In a more eldritch form, he turns to Klarion, who very clearly did not mean to summon him specifically by the way he's panicking and called Teekel back, and just tells him he's grounded.

Thinking thatbwas that after Klarion left, he went back to his castle to do more work...and maybe play with Cujo. Really, Pariah Dark left so much paperwork, he doesn't wanna do all that!

The JL however is now steadfast on finding whatever the fuck that was. Klarion was scared of it, and it seemed more annoyed at being called than concerned about the heroes behind it. So that could be very very bad news.

Danny, after a while, realizes the JL is trying to find out more about him, which makes his life very difficult, fuck you very much, has a wonderfully stupid idea.

Going back to those papers about the soul that can't be collected, he summons a very tired and now spooked british man. One by the name of John Constantine. He wants a deal. More specifically, whatever deals he'd made, those were now the High Kings, and in return for whatever he got out of the deals, he wanted John to help him. All in all, he just got hired by the High King in return for ignoring the equivalent of taxes.

John was very confused, but hey, boy king of there is very chill out of formal settings. And also maybe he's worried about the fact that like a 16 year old is king-

Either way, there deal goes a little something along the lines of;

Danny: Keep the JL off my back, and all your debts are no longer valid and anyone that disagrees can come fight me.

John: ....okay??????

So while Danny got a "I don't wanna deal with this hero!" guy, John got a "I don't wanna deal with this demon!" guy.

Okay I’ve been thinking about the Parallax retcon again cause god do I hate it. I’ve done some meta on it but I’m gonna focus on what it did to Hal. Earlier to day I said there wasn’t much build up to Parallax but that’s not exactly true because I wasn’t considering the frame work of Hal’s headspace.

So back after Crisis, Hal Jordan wasn’t doing so hot. His best friend had died. Carol was possessed by the Star Sapphire and committing all sorts of crimes to fuck with Hal. John and Guy weren’t that close with Hal back in the 90s. John and Hal fought over a ton of shit Carol did while possessed.

Hal was pretty isolated at this point. He tries to go to people he thought were his friends and they all wave him off or openly tell him to get over himself. Some of them were down right malicious about it. Hal wasn’t in a good place.

Then Coast City is destroyed. And Hal wants to try to fix it. He tries with the rings and the Guardians tell him no. Hal is so completely isolated at this point no one even notices that he is running to take a swan dive off the cliff of sanity.

Hal goes to Oa. He steals the rings of the other Lanterns and leaves them in Space to die. He kills Sinestro. He kills Kilowog. Then Hal steps into the Power Battery. He kills every single one of the Guardians minus Ganthet here.

And his plan? Reset the universe. Hal wants to put everything back to his it was before Crisis. When Coast City wasn’t rubble. When Barry Allen was alive.

Now the heroes step in. They look at this man who they turned away, who they ignored in his grief, in the aftermath of the destruction of his city, and they call him a villain. Then they act surprised he doesn’t wanna hear what they have to say? That he maybe doesn’t care about their opinions on him because they certainly couldn’t be bothered with him before this.

In the end Ollie shoots him in the chest. And Ollie thinks he killed Hal but he didn’t. Hal and Kyle just ended up on Oa.

And the heroes wipe their hands clean. They were then absolved of any guilt around Hal because he was clearly a bad guy. They couldn’t have stopped him. But that’s not true. Anyone at all offering a hand out might have stopped him.

By the time Hal attacks Kyle in New York he’s desperate. He has no other plan than try Zero Hour again. He wants the Green Lantern ring. He wants to be a Green Lantern. That’s all Hal. Hal is there and he’s been practically screaming for help for years.

And Kyle oh hopelessly naive Kyle is the first one to tell Hal what he’s doing isn’t heroic. Everyone else declared Hal himself a villain.

Kyle was the one who saw the hero in Hal. Kyle went to the Source Wall to ask for Hal’s help in restarting the sun.

And only once Hal had died did the others look at him like a hero again. And with a bittersweet taste nonetheless.

Kyle set up Hal’s funeral. He made the memorial. He wanted everyone to know that Hal was a hero truly and fully.

But they turned their backs to Hal. They decided he wasn’t worth their time. What good are they to decide who’s a sinner and who’s a saint to paraphrase Hal himself.

And then the retcon. That it wasn’t Hal at all. It was Parallax.

That is their wipe away for everything that happened to Hal. It cloaks his depression, his anger, his loneliness in some supernatural fear bug and we can all just move on.

It means when Hal tells Barry about it that Barry waves it off as not Hal. As if nothing Hal was feeling then matters. As if Hal didn’t exist at all. Just Parallax.

This means the other heroes don’t have to feel bad at all, as if they would, for abandoning Hal because his emotions were being influenced. Nothing at all could have been done.

Except then they fucked up again when Kyle was possessed by Parallax. Hal held out a hand and he helped Kyle break free. Which means yes they could have helped Hal. But they chose not to.

The Parallax retcon is a massive cop out so the writers didn’t have to address a characters actual mental state. Because it’s easier to draw a smile I suppose.

But even with the retcon it shows how the others dropped the ball. Hal wasn’t suffering in silence and they “couldn’t have known” he was asking for help. He needed help. And they turned him away.

TL;DR: Hal Jordan needs some better friends

This was inspired by @pulsar-1919 thank you for that reply about The List. I forgot how much of a dick everyone was to Hal. I knew about Bruce in the robe being a jackass but that’s par for the course for Bruce tbh.

Hal Jordan as character is funny to me because the way fandom see and treat him as this poor meow meow character, make other people forget how actually fucking sad his whole life is. Like most people only remember about how he watch his father died and how he thrive to be like him as his tragic backstory. Not a lot mention about how abusive his dad was, how repressed Hal is as a result of that, his shitty relationship with his family, his struggle with his civilian job and balancing his life while being a green lantern. Like it's just funny. You search for his contents and most of them come out as funny stuffs, but then you try to learn more about him and you ask yourself, "Holy shit how tf did this man hold it together???". It's like experiencing a culture shock

and when you think about this in context of how he in all likelihood is the youngest of the original members of the league it gets even sadder like to think he was doomed from the moment he was given the ring despite it initially giving him so much hope that he could make a difference is so depressing and once again i think a very apt metaphor for how military structures prey on people and exploit them until they’re nothing

Dannys at Wayne enterprise because his parents want to submit their inventions and "scientific" discoverys for official review. He's bored out of his mind and meets this beautiful girl his age and strikes up a conversation with her. (Or he meets a girl and starts to rant like his father.)

Danny: im just saying Orphan has to be a vampire!

????(cass): No.

Danny: Are you kidding me? She moves with far to much elegance and grace to be mortal. Credit to the other bats but they move like mortals. She dances around both rogues and vigilantes!

????(cass): *blushing* No vampire.

Danny: ok maybe not a vampire but like a shadow demon or dhamphir or something! She's to much!

????(cass): orphan. Is. good. What about others?

Danny: oh! stabby robin and red hood are top tier obviously!

????(cass): oh?

Danny: well yeah! Stabby robin practices the art of the sword, a forgotten art in modern times. And red hood shoots pedophiles! Who doesn't like that?

????(cass): Batman.

Danny: well that says something about batman doesn't it. Have you seen the first Robin's outfit? Oof!

*in cass's ear*: Red Robin here. Good job on keeping danny distracted orphan. We're in the process of arresting Danny's parents. Can you keep it up?

????(cass): mhmm. Hey. Cute boy. Take me out to lunch?

Danny: Oh! Yeah! My parents will take hours explaining everything anyway, But uhm. What's your name?

????(cass): call me cass. This is a date, Yes?

Danny: *blushing* oh, uhm, yes. I'm Danny by the way.

Cass: Danny very cute.

Red robin: uhm? You don't have to do that orphan. Hello? ...Please don't make me explain this to B. Orphan?

Batman: Follow. Them.

Goonion rule #14. If given the chance; always fuck with Batman

The goons rating the bats and birds in Gotham.

Batman: 4/10 beats us up and leaves. He talks to us like he’s better but we don’t go flying around beating people up in a furry suit.

Robin: 5/10 talks like the 1800’s and has a sword.

Red Robin: 6/10 we like that he’s smart. Plus he got sued by the restaurant and broke Two Face out to represent him so that was iconic.

Spoiler: 4/10 terrible jokes.

Red Hood: 6/10 he shoots us but treats his employees well.

Nightwing: 2/10 terrible jokes and sometimes gets really angry.

Signal: 6/10 the only day bat and he’s pretty nice but absolutely terrifying when he does that power thing and it looks like he’s a shadow.

Batwoman: 2/10 is mean.

Batgirl: 5/10 was smart but not a great fighter so it was fun. Don’t know where she went but she’s back so yay kinda.

Black Bat: 7/10 is terrifying and doesn’t talk but is kinda gentle and is an angel when she does talk. Also she holds back a lot, we can see with her other fights. And we don’t see her a ton.

Huntress: 2/10 shoots us with arrows and is rude.

The funny this about John Constantine is that the writers that like him and hate him write him the exact same way.

Like bastard, man whore, selfish, manipulative, self centered, con man, untrustworthy, hated, lives in a horror movie, etc.

Like the writers that like him do that and the writers that hate him think that ate with doing that but it’s just his character.

Bruce watched in amusement as the new hero, Ghost, made fun of Superman. That was until John Constantine came into the room and stared at the hero with wide eyes. He bowed and everyone was thrown off.

John Constantine was a bastard and everyone knew it, he tricked God Himself and made enemies with demons daily, he never showed anyone respect. So why was he being respectful to this random new hero he never met?

“King Phantom. I’ve been searching for you, it’s an honor.” John said and everyone looked between the confused teenager and mage.

“You must have me confused, my name is Ghost and I’m not a King.” He replied warily.

“Ah, they must have done something.” John said before hitting Ghost with a spell.

Ghost gasped and looked frantically at John.

“How bad is it?” He asked hurriedly and with panic.

“They would have slaughtered everyone tomorrow if you weren’t found today. They don’t care about your rules if the King is missing. I held them off for as long as I could but I couldn’t buy much time. You have been gone for 6 months.” John told him and everyone was on alert immediately. “Go, Danny, before it is too late.”

Ghost, no Danny, nodded before opening a portal. He turned around.

“You will be rewarded and I thank you. I truly love these people and would die against to protect them but my kingdom is first. I ask you to disband the GIW of the United States government, they are who took me and sold me off, they are who hurt my people. The Observants will want to speak to you, I will hold them off.” He left and everyone yelled questions at John.

“SHUT UP!” He snapped, more serious than anytime they had seen him before.

“Constantine. What was that?” Bruce demanded, wearing his most menacing glare and growl.

“No Bats, you don’t get to question me right now. I need everything that you have on him. Mission reports, how you found him, everything. If you excuse me I’m going to shut down a government organization.” John turned around and left in a hurry before anymore questions could be asked.

Two days later the news showed that an unknown man single handed took down a fake government organization that was illegally experimenting on ghosts and torturing them. John came back and read through every single file they had and sighed.

“Congratulations. I prevented the end of the universe.” He said lazily.

“Explain.” Bruce demanded.

Zatanna interrupted before John could reply. Her face was pale. “That was Danny Phantom.” She whispered in disbelief.

John only nodded and she fell onto a chair. She looked up at him with panic, ignoring everyone.

“Tell me. Don’t lie. How close were we?” She asked, completely serious.

“5 hours. If I didn’t find him in 5 hours every person on every planet would be slaughtered. They would not be merciful, they would slowly kill us until he was found, and they would not stop there. It would be 10 times worse than anything you can possibly imagine and no one but him could stop them. You were good to him, cared, no harm should come to any of you. I can’t say the same about CADMUS and the GIW.”

“Why didn’t he go back?” She asked. “You said he cares, why would he risk it?”

“His memories were erased, I gave them back but he didn’t know anything except for the last six months, possibly even less.”

“How did you get them to back off for so long?”

“I blackmailed God once, you know.”

“Yes, but every being is more powerful than him, the weakest is possible 3 times as powerful.”

“They respect Him, even if barely, but they do. So they, in turn, respect me. They know of my reputation and accomplishments, know I can somehow get out of anything, they let me have a chance to find him before they released them onto the universe.”

Zatanna thought about it for a couple seconds before nodding and slumping back into the chair.

A neon green sticky note appeared on John’s lap.

‘Thank you for returning our King. He needs guidance in your realm and you will now be considered his father, uncle to the public. Do not tell the mortals anything else.

He looked to Zatanna. “Are you mortal?”

“No, technically not.” She responded and he wordlessly passed her the note. “John, I can’t read this. It’s in ghost speak and I have not died.”

“I am the new father/uncle to Danny Phantom. We can’t tell the mortals anything else.” John said and Zatanna chuckled.

“Does this mean Spooky can’t adopt Danny?” Flash asked and Bruce glared at him.

“Not unless he wants to be Ended.” Zatanna replied with amusement and a smile.

This was going to be interesting.

Amnesia AU

An AU where Danny gains amnesia after getting captured by the GIW. He gets saved by the Justice League just after they discover Superboy, trying to find out if any of them have been cloned. When they save Danny they don’t know that he is a ghost or halfa, not that Danny knows that either, and have him join the Young Justice League. He and Superboy become best friends, Danny often messing with Superman for his clonist bullshit on Superboy’s behalf. They become each other’s pillars in a world that is unfamiliar and against them.

So imagine John Constantine’s surprise to find the missing Ghost King, who’s people he has been trying to keep from declaring war against this dimension to find him, calling Superman “Captain Primary Color Palette” in the Justice League watchtower.

So, like, I'm sleep deprived and it's midnight where I'm at, but

It would be so cute that while Cass was running away from David Cain, Cass met Danny! She flips Dash onto his back, and Danny was so amazed, he decided to buy Cass a burger from the last of his allowance as thanks.

Cass was so hungry, she just accepted it, and ate while being seated comfortably in the booth.

She didn't know what the boy was talking about, but she learned: the bright sometimes round light is called the moon, and the tiny bright dots in the dark sky are stars.

The boy who is talking to her feels like them.

"Star," she said, getting his attention.

The boy lets out a confused, "Huh?" before Cass points to him. "Star."

The boy was a few seconds confused more, before realizing, "Me? I'm a star?"

Cass shook her head. She points to herself. "Cass." Then she points to Danny. "Star."

"Oh!" the boy exclaimed, before laughing himself silly. "No, no, no!" he said. "I'm Danny! I'm not a star! But I'd like a constellation named after me!"

Cass shook her head. She points to Danny. "Danny. Star." Then she points to herself. "Cassandra. Cass."

"I THINK I GET IT NOW!" Danny said, slightly standing from his seat in excitement. "I'm nicknamed Star! Is that it? I'm Star?"

Cass nodded fervently.

"Hot Fudge!" Danny cheered. When he calmed down, he turned to Cass with a wide grin, and points to her, "Moon."

Cass' eyes widen, then, she smiles a smile full of teeth, close to letting out a laugh. She points to herself. "Moon." And then to Danny, "Star."

The interaction is cut short when Cass catches sight of David Cain prowling along the streets.

She hastily gets up and runs away, never looking back even as Star calls for her.

Years later, they meet again...

When this time he is running away from his own David Cain.

They don't recognize each other at first.

He knocks the assassin that had been chasing Cass unconscious.

From her first meeting with Star, she made a tradition of treating people to burgers when they helped her. So, as she hears her ghostly savior's stomach grumble, she invites him to Batburger.

It is here she realizes that she recognizes him. Somewhat. So she asks about the galaxies and constellations, and if there is a constellation named "Danny" yet.

Danny widens his eyes. "Moon," he breathes out.

Cass puts a hand over his free one.

"Star."

While this was going on, a bunch of birds and a bat were watching far away, almost all of them with binoculars.

Dick: "B. Please stop growling. And Little D, copying B will hurt your throat."

Head cannon

When Jason and Cassandra patrol together she sits on his shoulders like a cat does

One of the perks of living in Gotham is that occasionally you’ll walk past a Wayne having the most batshit insane conversation anybody has ever had.

Walk past Dick Grayson on the street and hear him say into his phone, “I don’t think he’s anti-vax, but Superman is definitely not vaccinated.”

Stand outside of the downtown WE building and see Tim Drake walk out with his tall friend only to pause and say, “Hold on, I just got the mental image of Lex Luthor pregnant. Thanks for that.”

A lucky few who ride the same subway line as the newest Wayne edition, overheard Duke tell Stephanie that living in Wayne Manor is, “Alright, but when I moved in Jason and Damian gave me a knife and said I had to kill Tim. Said it was tradition.”

“It kinda is. Did you do it?”

“No!” Duke says, to the relief of the overhearers. “Get this…he stabbed himself.”

“…yeah, I should’ve guessed that.”

The downside to living in Gotham is literally everything else.

I need a fic where robin!jason is the only one to notice baby stalker tim while they’re out on their patrols and it gets to the point where he’ll occasionally address him when he’s alone & around the others and they think he’s low-key going insane

fast forward a couple years and tim refers to something he saw while he was stalking batman and robin and jason’s head just WHIPS towards bruce and starts screeching “I TOLD YOU I WASN’T HALLUCINATING THE TINY STALKER CHILD FOLLOWING US B!! I FUCKING TOLD YOU I-“ and he has to be dragged out of the room by nightwing, still loudly proclaiming his vindication while tim and the others just watch on with the pikachu meme face

Was doing something unrelated but

Can you imagine a world where nobody knows the batkids are actually Batman's children and hence, when they hear them yelling at each other "I'll report this to Batman!" They think it's actually serious team discussion

And they don't know that for them it literally translates into "I'm telling dad!"

Like, You see Nightwing arguing with Red Hood and going "Oh, i'm SO reporting this to Batman"

"OH NO, YOURE NOT"

"YES I AM"

And everyone else thinks this is serious? And it could affect Hood's status as an ally?

But really is just Dick telling his little brother he's snitching about his broken arm to their dad-

Or you see Red Robin trying to bribe Robin and Spoiler "I'm reporting your actions to Batman"

"Yeah, gotta start the report about it, and he's going to be so-"

"... How much?"

And they smile maliciously, and anyone else thinks RR did something REALLY bad but it's just that he exceeded his weekly allowed coffee and his sibblings found out

Because they also do it to other people, like Tim does it to Supes when he's arguing with Kon-

One time the bat kids hung out in the cave while B was at a JL meeting. The whole place was covered in pink glitter and silly string by the time they were done. The only person who didn’t have glitter on them was Cassandra, no one knows how.

They don’t even try to clean it and just fr owned it.

Bruce comes back with the JL in tow to a pink, sparkly batcave and almost has an aneurism.

Oliver and Dinah is laughing their asses off and the JL is shocked.

Oliver; remind me to get them Prada for Christmas.

Bruce;…

Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, Robin, Spoiler, Black Bat, and Signal chose that moment to reenter the room.

Oliver; good job!

Hood; thanks uncle arrow!

Hal; what’s wrong with B?

Signal; wait for it.

Bruce; THE BATMOBILE TOO!?!

Bruce; Duke and Cass are my angel children. They tell me everything.

Batkids; glaring.

Cass who never told B she’s died twice and fr has done some of the most insane shit; smiles innocently.

Duke who blew up a warehouse last night and replaced Jason’s grappling gun with a slinky; Thanks B!

I want Bruce and Oliver to be so petty. Like when Lex does an evil scheme they make remarks that only he will know are about him and hang out and if he tries to crash it they post stories abt their boarding school days. Cause it will help with their secret identities but Lex will just be embarrassed af and his stocks will go down while the others go up.

Green Arrow walks up to Batman in a meeting one day and punches him in the face.

Batman; what was that for?

Green Arrow; pushing me off the swing in 3d grade when it was STILL MY FUCKING TURN!

Batman; that’s what you’re upset about?

Green Arrow; yeah.

Batman; I literally called your mom a wh*re cause she got eaten by lions in front of you.

Green Arrow; well… the swing thing sticks with me more so fuck you.

Green Arrow dramatically storms out of the room while the JL looks at Bats in shock meanwhile Canary is glaring at Batman and Flash fell over laughing.

In my mind Oliver Queen and Bruce Wayne are best friends. They are uncles to each other’s kids and know the other’s secret identities. When the kids are mad at them they go to their uncle.

Bruce trained for 7 years, in my canon/fiction I made up Oliver has always known how to use a bow but was on the island for 7 years too. So he got all his experiences from both the tv show and comics Green Arrow Year One.

I think Bruce comes back year 4 of Oliver on the island and thinks he’s dead like everyone else but can’t focus on it. Oliver comes back and they reunite. He doesn’t kill because he stopped year 6, he realized the hood doesn’t separate man from monster.

And I personally think Oliver would be Cassandra’s favorite because she respects him. She respects Bruce too, but Oliver didn’t have a choice to train or not, it was train or by killed. He also was trained to kill and forced to use those skills but stopped because he knew it was wrong even though people told him it was okay. He could’ve come back and hated the world but instead protected it, not only fighting crime but also with his position in the community.

He learned to become a part of society again, how to become human. He doesn’t see himself as a hero but instead a hunter. I think she relates to that because she sees herself as a weapon at first but learns to become a human like he did.

She sees the pain in him body, he also can read body language so they have silent conversations, her family can a little bit but not like she and Oliver can. Bruce chose to train so he didn’t need to watch his back as much, he chose to get hurt and put his body through that. Oliver didn’t, he was trying to survive and in doing so he got caught up with dangerous things, to survive he learned how to speak many languages, including the body. So as Bruce and the family can do it fairly well, Oliver is better and can hold conversations with her.

I need more fics of them like this.

Ngl I feel like Cassie is baned from training any one cause it’s traumatizing.

Like they left her alone with Young Justice for an hour and came back to find them all shot and crying in corners while Cass calls them babys.

It isn’t even her fault because that’s how she trained and was going easy.

What I think would happen if the batfam gets shipwrecked to an abandoned island.

Alfred; is enjoying his vacation.

Bruce; doesn’t know what to do because he hasn’t gone a single day of his life without someone helping him and can’t cook edible food.

Dick; dies from lack of physical affection.

Jason; can’t figure out how to hunt without guns

Tim; dies without coffee or wifi.

Damian; is worried about the animals and dies from starvation because he refuses to kill.

Duke; is okay ish, like he survives but not easily.

Barbra (not paralyzed cause she wouldn’t survive paralyzed in my opinion); is having a little fun with making traps.

Steph; is having the time of her life without her stupid classes and teachers.

Cass; was literally trained for this and is happy she finally has some alone time even if she misses her family.

Meanwhile Oliver is just watching this all and sighing because how did he survive but some of them didn’t?
