one of my favorite johnpaul moments that i think about very often is that time when paul mccartney like idiot doofus the third told tv reporters that he's taken LSD and obviously got backlash and was explaining himself to a journalist and john jumped in like Yeah well the Tv Reporters shouldn't have fucking Reported on it it's not Paul's fault He got asked a Question what do you want him to do Lie? You want us to fucking Lie? This is all the fault of Big Media. Fuck you. and paul is sitting beside him like Yeah... :)

Bob Dylan is really such a funny dude to exist. you’re a teenager who’s really obsessed with this one folk musician. ok. normal. then you hear said folk musician is in the hospital and what do you do? drop out of college and travel all the way from minnesota to new york to see him. and while you’re there you might as well become a folk singer yourself. okay sure. you sound a little weird but damn can you write. you get signed to a record label. record an album. does pretty well. record another album. does really well. now you’re famous. you go on tour in the uk. you sing at the march on washington. you release another album, and another. you’re the spokesman for a movement, for a generation. you’re a poet. you’re a golden child. thing is, you hate all that. so you learn electric guitar and everyone else hates all that and boos you and you cry but who cares? they can keep booing you, you’re still bob dylan. you keep going with this electric thing. someone calls you judas but at least you’re not christ. oh yeah and you’ve been on and off with the second most famous folk singer of your generation. well that’s over now. you marry someone else. you get in a motorcycle accident. finally a fucking break. you don’t appear in public again until woody guthrie (remember woody guthrie?) dies and you perform at his memorial concert. you change up your musical style. you make friends with george harrison. you’re not getting good reviews but who cares? youre bob dylan. you act in a film. sure. you go on tour again. you’re having problems with your wife. you go on tour again but this time it’s this vaudeville thing and everyone’s on drugs. joan baez is there in drag as you. you make this weird, bad, half-improvised film where you’re there with your ex and your wife. everyone has signed up for these psychological mind games and no one wins. you convert to evangelical christianity. everyone hates it. you drop it. you release some of your most negatively reviewed music. you form the greatest supergroup of all time. great. you have a resurgence in popularity. even better. you get a nobel prize. you don’t even show up to claim it. you’ve been considered one of the greatest musicians of all time for sixty years. they make a movie about you. it stars one of the biggest actors of the day. and now over sixty years after you dropped out of college and traveled to the east coast, people are writing fanfic of you getting topped by johnny cash.

i can't remember where it's from but there's this one interview where paul's asked why the fans call him 'the bouncy one' and paul has this super nonchalant ass reaction and says I Dont Know like he didn't used to get on stage and jiggle like a plate of crème caramel flan being smacked by ten teaspoons....

On January 16 1980, Paul McCartney and the Wings arrived In Tokyo for upcoming 11-dates Wings tour in Japan. Customs Officials found 219 grams (7.7 ounces) of cannabis in Paul’s luggage and arrested him.

Paul was sent to the local jail and spent 9 days there while the Japanese government decided on what to do with him. He was facing a possible seven-year sentence for smuggling if convicted.

"When the fellow pulled it out of the suitcase, he looked more embarrassed than me. I think he just wanted to put it back in and forget the whole thing, you know, but there it was. I didn’t try to hide it. I had just come from America and still had the American attitude that marijuana isn’t that bad. I didn’t realize just how strict the Japanese attitude is. I made a confession on the night I was arrested and apologized for breaking Japanese law, but they still wanted to know everything. I had to go through my whole life story—school, father’s name, income, even my medal from the Queen." Paul McCartney

While in jail, Paul was known as inmate #22 and impressed the guards with his politeness. He passed the time with exercising, talking to other prisoners and overall, Paul said he was treated well. On the sixth day, Linda was allowed to visit, giving him clothes and new books.

"It’s really very silly. People certainly are different over here. They take it so very seriously. Paul is now in some kind of detention place and I have not been allowed to see him. As soon as they get someone nice like Paul, they seem to make a field day of it! I’ll never come back to Japan again. It’s my first trip and my last!" Linda McCartney

On the eighth day, the Japanese government decided to immediately deport Paul without charges. On January 25th, Paul was released from the jail, placed in a car and was driven straight to the airport when Linda, his children and fellow Wings members were waiting for him and flew back to England.

George Harrison was the only Beatle to send a telegram to the McCartneys during the nine days:

Thinking of you with all love. Keep your spirits high. Nice to have you back home again soon. God bless. Love, George and Olivia.

According to a housekeeper of the Lennon's, John's supposed reaction was, "If he really needs weed, surely there's enough people who can carry it for him. You're a Beatle, boy, a Beatle. Your face is in every damn corner of the planet. How could you have been so stupid."

Years later, Paul has acknowledged the foolish of his decision and the challenges he faced during that period. Paul did return to Japan in 1990 for a tour without incident.
