“And when your heart realizes you’ve truly lost them, it will only have one question: How could this have happened to us?”
—disbelief in her eyes, grief in her heart (6/13/19)
“A friend once asked me what the meaning to life was. Must there be only one? Meaning weaves itself through the giggling of a child as he buries his face in my chest. Meaning smiles down on me as I wish the dog on the corner good morning and good night each day. Meaning plays peek-a-boo with my kittens as they chase their toys and deposit them loyally by my feet. Meaning is here. Meaning is everywhere. It is simply up to us to see it, to recognize it, to hope for more.”

Every person has that one go to song in their playlist which has the ability to make one’s heart flatter with happiness, content and zeal. That one song which acts as a remedy when you feel lost amidst the chaos of your life, it brings comfort in times of pains and hardships, it acts as a cherry on cake in our happiness.
There are always some times when you feel so dejected in your life that the only escape you find is that one soulful piece of writing which lifts up the broken you and give you enough strength to mend everything. You feel lost; you feel there is no good left in you. You begin to believe that maybe it was you only who was at fault. You blame yourself for everything wrong that happens in your life. You become too hard on yourself. This is the time when you just don’t vibe along with the music, but understand the lyrics, sink into them.
Have you ever come across someone who just adorns you in the way you are! They find happiness in just being with you, they make you feel complete, and they add an essence to your life.
Some people are just the right ones for you. They make you feel at home, no matter where you are or what is going on in your life. They understand you in a way no one ever has, they read your silence, and they see your scars through your smile. It doesn’t take them much to love you. They find one reason enough to stick by you.
These people may fight with you, not agree with you over many things, but they never stop respecting you for who you are. They do not make you feel bad about yourself; instead, they make you face the reality which you find hard to accept. They make you analyze what the world is criticizing you for, they make you see the reality, and motivate you to work upon it. They always praise you in public, they correct you in private. They never look down upon any thing you do, they always support you, and they always love you.
They become your family before you know it, you love them more than you realize. These people mean the world to you. a friend, a partner; anyone may take this place in your heart. You will feel void in their absence, content in their presence and blessed for their existence!
Part one of Chapter two
This is the new first draft of chapter one from some other book I'm working on... Have fun!!! Any feedback would be appreciated, good, bad or indifferent, just be fucking honest, please.
A poem from my first poetry collection,
"Waiting on a Light That was Never There"
All links in my bio
"Glass"
Look in the mirror
Pale skin
Black hair
Death in his eyes
Lust on his tongue
Pleading
Begging
Crying
Waiting
For his time to come

Art is the question, I'm not spoon feeding you answers...
"Masks We Wear"
Being nice to a stranger
Or a smile for a friend
Hiding away the monster
We all have within
Eating away
At our subconscious minds
Hoping one day
We'll finally let them win
"Garden of Nails In a Bed of Roses"
The brutal dance
Of keeping life in a trance
An elegance
With each painful step
Driving the nails deeper
With such a grotesque snap
Yet, you keep a smile
Almost as if painted
Onto your tortured face
But I can see the tears
Running down
Your weathered cheeks
Showing me that true beauty
Only comes
From heartbreak
And defeat
For only roses grow
In your shadow's golden glow
