Tumblr’s about to gain a lot of refugees

Underappreciated element of the Tumblr checkmarks is that the implementation is nearly identical to how twitter is doing them. This took twitter like, several days and a blow to their public reputation to implement.

The Tumblr devs looked at the whole fiasco, said "hey you know what would be funny" and minted these bad boys before lunch.

tumblr is gonna make more money off blaze, checkmarks, crabs, and shoelaces than it has under verizon and yahoo combined all because the users here have a sense of humour incomprehensible to most of civilisation. this website would spit on you before it'll buy something from an ad but by GOD does it know how to spend money on bullhit

Sans and flowers

Modern AU where enderdragon!Philza is captured by a shady corporation who lock him up in a lab to experiment on him. One day, they want to see how he reacts to a human being (they just want to see how Phil kills his prey).

So they yoink a random college student named Techno from the streets.

They fully expect Phil to maul Techno on sight. But he doesn’t. Maybe it’s because Techno isn’t armored, and he’s not wearing a lab coat. Maybe it’s because he’s locked in just like Phil is, and he looks scared. Maybe it’s because Phil has been in isolation so long his dragon hoard instincts are on high alert.

Whichever the case, Philza looks at this random human and goes “oh, he’s friend shaped. My treasure now!”

The scientist are in awe when Phil doesn’t eat Techno. He just manhandles him so they can snuggle up together instead. After a few days of Phil taking care of Techno and having no intention to kill him, somebody goes in to take Techno away and resume with different experiments.

The problem is Phil doesn’t appreciate that. Like, at all.

Finally using his full powers at seeing somebody try to lay a hand on his hoard, Phil breaks out of the facility easily and leaves it a crater. He takes Techno with him. And like a good dragon, he brings Techno home to his nest, where his mate Kristin and their sons Wilbur and Tommy are waiting.

Aka Techno can be adopted by the entire family!

Wait sans canonically has an accent??

He does! Now, it’s a pretty subtle thing because UTDR characters usually have very little in the way of phonetic accents (like, the knight chess piece NPC from Deltarune has a southern accent but you can mostly only tell it because they don’t say their final ‘g’s and call Kris “horsie”) but if you pay attention to his speech, you’ll be able to pinpoint some little hints Sans has a few speech habits going on. For one, he tends to shorten the word “you” to “ya” and other similar forms of it:

He also refers to the player character as variations of “buddy” and “pal” a lot.

But what gives it away as being (what I, with my limited knowledge of American accents think it is, at least!) a cartoon Brooklyn accent is his usage of “capiche” and “forgeddaboudit”, heh.

Humans are adorable.

Supporting evidence:

1. Humans say ‘ow’, even if they haven’t actually been hurt. It’s just a thing they say when they think they might have been hurt, but aren’t sure yet.

2. Humans collect shiny things and decorate their bodies and nests with them. The shinier the better, although each individual has a unique taste for style and colouring

3. Humans are not an aquatic or even amphibious species, but they flock to bodies of water simply to play in it. They can’t even hold their breath all that long; they just love to splash!

4. When night falls and the sky goes dark, humans become drowsy and begin to cocoon themselves in soft, fluffy bedding.

5. Some humans spend time in each other’s nests! Just for fun! It’s not their nest; they’re just visiting each other.

6. Some humans use pigments and dyes to make their bodies flashy and colourful! They even attach shiny dangly bits to their cartalidgous membranes!

7. Humans are very clever, and sometimes adopt creatures from other species into their family units. They don’t seem to notice the obvious differences, and often raise them alongside their own young!

8. If a human sees another creature in distress, they can commonly be observed trying to help! Even at their own risk, most humans are deeply compassionate creatures!

9. If a human hears a particularity catchy sound or tune, it will often mimic it, even to the point of annoying themselves!

10. Sneezes are entirely involuntary, and completely adorable. Especially when the human in question becomes frustrated

11. Humans love treats!!! Some more than others. Many humans will save these treats specifically for a later date when they are in need of comfort or reassurance. IE, pickles, pop tarts, Popsicles, etc

12. They’re learning to travel in space!!! They can’t get very far, but they’re trying!!! So far, they’ve made it to the end of their yard, and have found rocks
