talking with bestie about whether matt or juan would propose and i have reasoning for both. Here It Is.

Juan: He's been engaged once before. Clearly that did not work out. Unrest in pieces, bitch, I hate you Inpax. He's determined to get it right this time, because he's with the right person this time. Matt has always been the man he was meant to be with. They will always find their way back to each other, and Juan wants to ensure that there's no way he could ever lose him again. He's also a hopeless romantic as we know and I'd be lying if I said I didn't think he has a scrapbook laying around of different proposal ideas. He knows the shit that Matt has gone through, and probably not even the worst parts of it. That's a terrifying thought, and he wants to put as much of that pain in the past as he can. He wants to move forward with their lives, he wants to promise himself to Matt forever. He wants to promise Matt a soft forever, a delicate one, free of hurt and anguish. He's going to do it right.

Matt: Honestly, he needs a sense of control in his love life. So much of his relationships haven't had any of his input, and while of course Juan is nothing like that, the fear remains. Trauma does that to a guy. Again, fuck you Inpax. He likes the comfort and security of being agentic, making decisions. And he knows that Juan is the type to provide the grand romantic gestures instead of receiving them. Matt wants to change that. When his life went to shit, he lost control, he wasn't there for Juan, he couldn't provide comfort and love and care. He's back on the right track now. He can make up for lost time. He can get down on one knee and in spite of all his flaws, all his mistakes, the sins of his past that nearly cost his beloved his life, he can pledge to love this man forever. He already does. But Juan likes this cheesy shit (and Matt is learning to, though the process is slow). He wants to make Juan feel loved, he wants this proposal to be everything he's ever dreamed of. Everything he couldn't get the first time. It would be grandiose. Sentimental. Multifaceted. Intimate. A perfect whirlwind combination of what's in Juan's scrapbook and that charismatic clumsiness, maybe the heat of something A Little Too Personal, that is undeniably Matt Engarde.

Thinking some thoughts about Matt at this fine hour of the afternoon.

- boy division by my chemical romance

- castles crumbling by taylor swift ft hayley williams

- just the concept of matt engarde with a navel piercing

- the multitude of reasons why he tries so hard to hide his scars (his body is the one thing he's got going for him and now he's screwed it up, the false promise of hollywood glitz and glamour has betrayed him)

- constant nightmares of his own body being puppeteered on a stage and he's tied down to a first row seat

i thought i'd just clarify my reasoning behind why i dislike the trans chigri headcanon so much since mfs got mad at me before when i said it without explaining myself

disclaimer, I myself am trans so this isnt me being transphobic, and its totally fine if u headcanon it, i literally dont care about any character being hit by the trans beam, go wild, but chigiri is my exception

i have different reasons for disliking mtf and ftm chigiri so ill be explaining both

i understand that headcanons dont have to make sense but i feel like chigiri being trans would go against every part of him. My reason for disliking mtf chigiri is quite obvious i think, and that's that he makes it very very clear througout the entire story and almost every interaction hes a part of that he does not like being called a girl. He's always being called feminine things like princess or lady or missy but he always tells people to stop because he is a boy not a girl. So yeah thats why i hate that side of it so much

my dislike of ftm chigiri are a little harder to explain but uhh here goes. Its partly because of him being a more gender neutral/feminine looking character, because i love that men being feminine or not traditionally masculine can express themselves, but making him trans is kinda taking away from that by saying "a man expressing his gender in a way that isnt masculine?? i guess he must've been born a women then" Thats not actually that serious though because there are plently of feminine men who are trans, i love a ton of headcanons like that.

My biggest issue with ftm chigiri is actually how it affects every other character in the series. Because if he was, its basically character assassination for all of them. If chigiri was born a woman and transitioned into a man it makes literally every other character transphobic by default. Like he has repeatedly told them that he is a boy and not a girl but they continue to call him a lady, if chigiri was a trans man they would undoubtebly know, they've seen him in the lockerooms, they've seen him in the bath ykyk whatever. Point being they are constantly and non stop calling him a lady and if he was a trans man that makes the entire cast of blue lock all horrible people.
