Gyaru terms 🌺

Before I start, I'd like to apologize for my inactivity! i'm currently packing to move so I haven't had much time to post. But anyways, today I thought i'd make a quick post about a few gyaru terms to clear up some confusion about them!

Ganguro - This outdated term is often mistaken as a substyle but it's just a term to describe darker tanned/skinned gals. it's literal translation/meaning is blackface (not the same as actual blackface). This term works more so as an umbrella term to describe old school styles like tsuyome manba/manba, banba, yamanba, etc.

Kurogyaru - This term is often mistaken as the substyle tsuyome but it's actually the newer term used to describe gals who tan or are naturally tanned/have darker skin.

Shirogyaru - I personally don't see many people mistake this term as a substyle but I wouldn't be shocked if it happened. Shiro gyaru is a term used to describe gals who have fair/lighter skin.

Kogal - This is another term you will often see mistaken as a substyle but its just a term to describe Gyarus who are in highschool/who are children. I include both meanings because when people translate kogal they assume that ko is short for kōkōsei (meaning: high school student) or just believe it for its literal translation ko (meaning: child) + gyaru (gal) = Child gal.

Gaijin gyaru - This term is used to describe foreigner gals ( either gals who don't reside in Japan or gals who are not Japanese)

Heisei/reiwa - Terms used to describe the different era's of gal (and which era a gal is from). Heisei lasted from 1989-2019 and reiwa is the newer era of gal, starting from 2020- and currently ongoing.

Villain kicked Hero under the table earning a muffled gasp. Hero returned with a sharp glare, grabbing Villain's arm harshly and leaning close to their ear.

"Look, I know it's not ideal but we have to keep this under wraps until after lunch. Will one lunch really kill you?!" Hero whispered.

"I'm sorry, what part of 'our grandmother's are now best friends' do you think I'd enjoy?"

"Hey, I wasn't the one to show my Nona the Facebook Knitting group."

"Meemaw was lonely and needed friends. I just wish your Nona didn't come with lame baggage. I think you're jealous that your Nona likes me more than you" Villain defended.

Nona and Meemaw then returned to the table, laughing about something or rather. Nona then reached into her bag and gave Villain a handful of chocolate candies.

"You're such a good grandchild Villain, I hope my Hero here hasn't been too mean to you while we were gone." Nona affectionately patted Villain on the head.

As she turned to continue her conversation with Meemaw Villain unwrapped a candy and popped it in their mouth.

Although the candy was very stale, the look on Hero's face was worth every crunchy bite.

Benefits of Shifting Realities

(Beyond the obvious ones like living in your desired reality and being with your S/O)

This reality becomes less stressful when you realize you don't have to achieve everything you want to here

But also you can make this reality your dream reality easily by just shifting/manifesting

Ability to access information from other realities and other versions of yourself (channeling advice, multiverse sigils, and pop culture deities to name a few)

Deeper love and relationships, as there is complete choice in who you are with and where you are

Choice to live an immortal life and reincarnate when you choose

Enemies to friends prompts:

CW for mention of death

Hugging each other after an argument only for them to playfully suplex the other, and then laughing about it

Reminiscing the old times, thinking about how far they have come

Trying not to crack a smile at a dumb joke they told

Taking a stance after they see their enemy approaching them, thinking they’re about to attack, when they suddenly pull them in for a hug

Switching from using last names to nicknames (like buddy, pal, etc.) to refer to each other

Helping each other take down a common enemy and becoming friends in the process

Not believing them at first when they compliment them on something

Finding their enemy injured and treating their wounds

Bickering like they used to, but now it’s more endearing than annoying

Feeling very awkward in the beginning because this was the very person they wanted to kill, but now they’re an ally so they have to be nice, regardless of how annoying they are

Dialogue:

“Well, what are you waiting for? Just kill me and be done with it!” || “…I can’t do that”

“Are you here to mock me?” || “Uhm… no. I just wanted to check up on you”

“Do you think… if things didn’t go the way they did… we could’ve been friends?”

“You? Taking care of me? Are you sure you aren’t the one who has hit their head instead?” || “Geez, can’t you be grateful for once?”

“I kinda miss the old days” || “What, you want me to stab you?”

“You’re so stupid” || “Your influence” || “Hey-”

“You defended me?” || “Yeah, well, we’re friends now… isn’t that what they’re suppose to do?”

“You forgot our anniversary!” || “What anniversary?” || “The day you first tried to kill me!”

“It’s funny how fast time goes by… I still remember the times you tried to capture me as if it was yesterday”

“I’m glad we’re friends now”

Do you have any tips/what are your thoughts for writing on finding the right amount of detail vs too much detail? I’m always nervous about adding detail cause I feel like it’s always too much.

To make it short: you have to decide.

Personally, I always connect details with their importance to the story. Is it important to mention this? Or is it more of a reference? Is it a metaphor? Or is it simply to give the reader a better impression of what I’m picturing?

All together, you have to decide for yourself if your story needs those details and if you want to put them in there.

Some examples:

Albert Camus is pretty straightforward (which goes hand in hand with his philosophy). There are very little details in his writing and it still works. This is an excerpt from The Stranger.

On the other hand:

Edgar Allen Poe’s writing is quite different. He’s describing things in detail, for example here in The Fall of the House of Usher, and this works too.

At the end, you have to decide for yourself what is too much, what will bore your reader or even yourself.

The way we think of shifting sets us up to fail

Disclaimer:

this is just my opinion and this is based on a LOA idea of shifting. The idea that you change the 4D and the 3D follows. If you don't believe the same thing that's totally fine! We're all anonymous ppl on Tumblr sharing out opinion, just because I believe something doesn't mean you can't disagree with me.

How you're setting yourself up to "fail", from a LOA perspective:

The very core of how we discuss shifting requires reliance on the 3D for validation. It's built into how we conceptualize it. You consider the physical first.

The 3D does not tell you if you have shifted. The 3D has no authority. You shift in the 4D first.

Don't conform your 4D to your 3D.

Your 4D does not need to mirror the 3D, that's not it's job. The 3D is the mirror. If there was a smudge on the mirror you wouldn't decide to smudge your makeup to match it.

Your goal is the persist in the belief that you have shifted and identify with your 4D. If you wake up, see that the 3D didn't reflect your desire and identify with failure, you are working against yourself.

You know not to affirm that you failed to manifest so why do you affirm that you failed to shift?

What you do when it "doesn't work" IS important. What does your 4D look like right now, what is your goal/your desire? Good, now don't identify with anything outside of that.

If in your 4D you shifted last night, don't identify with the idea that you didn't .

Shifting starts with the 4D so WHY do you center your 3D??

Do you know why people suggest that you connect with your DRself throughout the day before the shifting attempt? Because they're identifying with the state fulfilled.

Stop searching for physical validation. Validate the reality you want to see. It comes from within.

You ARE your DRself. Not just in the idea that you're the same person, or that some distant copy is living in your DR, YOU right now are in your DR.

The core of loa is knowing you're already there. You know how I know you can do it? Because you already fucking have. You have to accept that you have.

If you fundamentally view yourself as incapable you will never try do what you wish you could. If you assume you cannot swim you will avoid the water. If you think you need them you'll never remove the training wheels.

I BELIEVE IN YOU. AGGRESSIVELY. IF YOU DON'T DO IT I WILL

The best part of being a self fulfilling prophecy is you get to choose the prophecy.
