Vlastomil: Quality time

- take care of his worms with him, or just watch if you don’t like them

Volta: Gifts

- will bring you food she found and that she enjoys and watch your reaction when you try it

- she loves the way your eyes lit up when you receive a present from her

- will bring you something, no matter how small, whenever she goes somewhere (a different city on court affairs or even just the market)

- don’t try to stop her, it’s canon that she’s a hoarder, and now she has you to buy things for.

- will also buy magical artifacts, tools, herbs etc. You don’t know where she got those from. She knows a guy.

Vulgora: Words of affirmation (shocking right? hear me out)

-they are basically the most vocal of the courtiers, they say everything they think and LOVES talking so yes, if they love you they will shout it from the rooftops

- encouraging af. you basically got yourself a cheerleader. you feel like you can move mountains with them on your side

- will constantly praise you, in private and in public

- will BRAG about you

- even if you fail at something they’ll be there like “i wasn’t born perfect at fighting either, c’mon, you can do this”

- someone badmouths you? hellfire comes out of her mouth (and blood out of that guy but oh well)

- you about to fight someone?

Valdemar: Physical touch (yes shocking again but-)

- correct me of i’m wrong but out of all the courtiers they are the most touchy with MC and in their personal space. yes, the fear factor is there but let’s be honest, they could scare the hell outta ya anyway without touching you.

- touches you whenever they see you, either fleetingly or all out pushing you against the wall and embracing you, wrapping their arms around you from behind or mindlessly petting your head while they’re reading something. they have to feel that you are there

- if you try to run (you know u will the first times) they’ll just chase you cuz it’s funny, but then they’ll do it cuz you’re warm and soft. they’ll tackle you and just stay there with that devilish grin. just accept your fate.

- the first time you touch them they’ll be Error 404. why would you ever wanna touch something like them?

- now if you stop caressing or cuddling them they’ll hiss at you  they’re basically a homicidal cat, hold them in your lap

- if they see someone else touch you, they won’t say anything at first, you’ll just hear a low growl and the earth might start shaking.

A very insidious form of transmisogony is that there can never be a positivity post for trans women without people (usually afab trans people) either derailing it OR reminding them about terfs and it’s ONLY for trans women- it’s much less often that anyone will mention “transphobes don’t look at this” on posts for trans MEN.

Trans women can’t exist without everyone reminding them that someone out their hates them, even people in their communities, and we as allies HAVE to do better. Instead of saying “terfs don’t look at this” or whatever preformative allyship floats your boat- deplatorm terfs, block them and STOP ENGAGING, and uplift trans fem voices!!!

As a Jew I rarely see “Nazis don’t even breathe on this post” when it’s Jewish positivity, but I ALWAYS see it on anything even REMOTELY related to trans fem things. It’s transmisogony, simple as that

I physically look like a love child between Vulgora and Volta. Its rare to actually see characters that look like me in any way. Its hard for me to pin my personality. I can be calm and collected and very focused on work, yet I am an anxious mess with a need for travel and exploration. I'm kind of a chaotic neutral type.

HEAR ME OUT ARCANA DEVS PLEASE

I’m not asking for courtiers with romantic routes. I know that’s not right and it’s very unhealthy (well maybe not Volta-).

And the devs are probably rlly uncomfortable thinking that a bunch of us (me included) want to fuck a demonic doctor who not only has the form of an eldritch horror monster, but also zero actually positive/healthy human emotions. And I don’t blame ‘em, I can see where I’m fucked in the head very well. (Hint: it’s not just at one place)

I KNOW.

What I am asking for is an antagonist route. Just a little something for us villain lovers. Some of us are just like that; we like the thought of a dark side, a different perspective. Personally, I’ve been like that since I was a kid. I always imagined myself helping the villain; chilling with Maleficent, roasting the hyenas with Scar... fuck, dude, Ursula was and still IS one of my role models to this day.

BACK TO THE SUBJECT. I’d just be really hyped if they gave us at least one route in which MC gets to choose the wrong side; you know, Angst and all that good jazz. We get more interactions with the courtiers, yes, but I’m not asking for romance. Just some twisted sense of complicity. And getting on the Devil’s good side for ONCE.

An antagonistic MC.

An MC who was hurt by the fact that Asra kept secrets from them. Who’s sick of not knowing their own past. It’d be so fun to see that, to see the dark side of magic for once, you know?

Like I said; angst purposes. And courtier “friendships” (even though it’s probably gonna be fake as fuck for some of them).

Please stop misgendering nonbinary characters

Don’t call Asra a man, just because he’s fairly masc and uses he/him doesn’t make him a man he is never referred to with gendered phrases like boy, son, or sir in the story

Valdemar is nonbinary and uses They/Them pronouns, they do not have a gender please do not call them a boy or man

Same goes for Vulgora

Nazali is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns, even though they are referred to as a sister like the other satrinava children please refrain from adding other gendered phrases

Okay, so I don’t usually do this sort of thing on Tumblr, but I’ve noticed a pattern of disrespect in The Arcana fandom that I feel needs to addressed yet again.

Going out of your way to misgender and disrespect someone’s identity does not make you enlightened compared to the masses, or cool, or edgy—it makes you an asshole. Whether they’re a real person or a fictional character doesn’t matter. It costs zero dollars to be polite and respectful, and if you can’t manage that, it takes less energy to keep your thoughts to yourself than to type them out and share them with the world.

I know this is harsh, but it needs to be said. Non-binary, trans, and agender people are part of the LGBT+ community and if you can’t respect them, then why are you playing The Arcana? Most, if not all, of the characters fall somewhere under the LGBT+ umbrella! You don’t get to pick and choose which identities you support and which ones you don’t in this community—you either treat everyone with kindness and decency, or you get the hell out.
