buddie first kiss being them extremely happy that bobby's alive. buck is so so happy and smiling going for a hug with eddie and eddie is so so happy and fond of buck he just places his hands on buck's face and kisses him hard. they're both in shock about bobby and about the kiss but they're so so happy they can't stop smiling so they have to stop kissing so they just hug and touch foreheads. they're just so so happy.
(fujo bobby is so so alive and so so happy too)
i don't want to break down the door buck i want him to open it. and then christopher knocked on eddie's door and asked him to stick around okay :')

HOZIER OVER THAT SCENE WAS FOUL
No, because here's the thing. People don't die on this show. Sure Abby's mom died but that was always gonna happen. Shannon might be the only character that wasn't dying when introduced and actually died. They had an actor giving them trouble who played a character who had literal brain cancer and they didn't kill him off. They just don't kill characters. Maddie just had her throat slashed and survived. And I'm supposed to believe that they just let the death of someone who shares the main character spot with Angela Bassett leak like it's nothing? They were signing autographs and taking pictures. Someone was livestreaming the filming for hours. They weren't even trying to hide what was happening. And I'm supposed to believe that death is actually real???
I think my biggest annoyance about this episode is that it doesnt really feel like it’s a continuation of the previous one? At least when it comes to buck and eddie. Buck randomly asking for a transfer when the previous episode had him having that talk with pepa, his reunion with chris (symbolizing that he still has a family and that things arent as fractured as they seem) and ESPECIALLY that scene where he works together to end that fire with hen and chim symbolizing that they are still a team and that’s just… ignored? Buck suddenly doesnt give a shit about hen and chim? And i get it, he’s still grieving but then what the fuck was the purpose of 8x17 if it wasn’t him starting the ACTUAL healing process? Him randomly choosing to transfer is so… odd and out of place? And Eddie! What is the purpose of that talk he had with hen & karen where he slips out that LA is his home and that he’s worried about buck? What’s the purpose of showing us how happy he looks when he sees buck snd chris together again (showcasing that he knows his family is in LA?) All of this just for him to still seem to be eager to leave for Texas at the end of the emergency when it was such a great set up for him to realize he wants to stay and work with the people he cares about? Apparently since Chris didn’t even need any convincing to go back to LA?????? Was this weird dissonance between the two episodes and the character writing really just to set up chimney’s speech at the end (which mind u kenny killed but I’m really struggling to enjoy)??
Like I dont think they could have dropped the ball harder than this if they tried.
WOWWWWOWWW OH YM GOF WOWWWIHOOJHHH
FRRRR, the fact that we got FUCKING TOMMY's reaction to Buck crying and we didn't get Eddie's to Bobby dying when Bobby was such an important person in his life is infuriating. Like was it really so hard to cut the five minutes of Tuberculosis fighting helicopters and the unnecessary reaction to his ex whom he has a very weird relationship with to fit a frame of Eddie just picking up the phone and crying?? 💀💀
this isn't dooming bc i don't for a minute believe that BT is actually endgame but the fact that tim is so insistent on bringing back bigoted white side characters while repeatedly sidelining or mishandling main characters of color is so deeply upsetting to me. are you telling me that they couldn't fit a single minute of eddie screentime in that ep? an episode where BOBBY FUCKING DIES?? it doesn't matter that it might not permanent because all of the other members of the 118 still got to feel that grief and sadness onscreen and eddie didn't. like...why are we acting like bobby isn't eddie's family as much as he is buck's? or is eddie just not important enough that bobby dying didn't even warrant a phone call?? jesus fucking christ
