Sometimes I forget that the most complex question most people care about is personal moral conduct and usually it’s just outrage that anyone could think that their arbitrarily chosen moral foundation (usually a religion) isn’t the most obviously true answer. And of course without a religion you have no solid moral foundation which is supposed to be the biggest problem ever because personal morality somehow matters so much. So you once again get a reason for people to be interpersonal moralists as a substitution for politics, the same way that they do that with dating arguments

Is there a source for the claim that she was aware of her husband's compulsion, taking upskirt pictures and such and him abusing their children? What she experienced was so degrading and evil, and I have respect for her strength in going public with it. Yet, if it’s true that she looked the other way while her husband harmed other women before, I wonder: what if she hadn’t been the one to suffer those rapes for 10 years, but another woman? and her husband was one of the 50 men to rape that woman?

Dominique Pelicot face à cinq autres affaires de viols ou de meurtre
20 Minutes
La police judiciaire enquête sur cinq affaires non élucidées entre 1994 et 2004 où la piste de Dominique Pelicot est envisagée

This article is in French but it says that "in 2010, the year he moved to Mazan with his wife Gisèle, Dominique Pelicot had already had a run-in with the police, as revealed by Midi Libre. Aged 57, he was arrested in July in a shopping centre in Seine-et-Marne, caught filming under the skirts of customers with a miniature camera hidden in a pen."

X (formerly Twitter)

I know this is a Twitter thread, but this is from a journalist who documented nearly all that was said during the trial in October.

In this series of tweets we're made aware Dominique Pélicot's son thought there were very few boundaries between him and his parents, and it's been reported Dominique and Gisèle had sex in their front of their children several times.

Other family members (including grandkids and Gisèle's own daughter) said he masturbated in public sometimes but she looked the other way.

99.9% of men are boring. no personality. no morals. no intelligence. the only emotion they feel is anger and they don't even know what to be mad at. they all pretend to be interested in philosophy and history. they all want to become con artists and twitch streamers. they're homosocial, homoromantic, and borderline homosexual. they regurgitate the same misogynistic opinions. they all watch porn. they all want to molest kids. just one entity split up into billions of bodies

Virginity is a controversial topic among people especially feminism. I think virginity and the separation from is a female liberated as it can get, let’s be real. When I think of women separating them self form to extreme form is “virginity” and abstaining form men in general both sexually and non-sexually. In many ancient civilizations, virginity signaled a woman's independence and strength, they were literally seen psychically and mentally stronger than most women, Virgins were free women," not subject to the will of a man."

Which reminds me of “Artemis” and other female divine figures who are virgin. Virginity have a tons of ties to women who are connected to archery, wilderness and wildlife in some way or form I learned. These days virgin' became even more embarrassing thing to do be towards sex centered and patriarchal centered people especially with the rise of pornographic, prostitution and patriarchal culture; unfortunately.

Is Having A Son Really Worth The Risk? I Don’t Think So. Go 4B, Don’t Contribute To The Cycle Of

Is having a son really worth the risk? I don’t think so. Go 4B, don’t contribute to the cycle of suffering, be unwilling to birth an oppressor or a victim. We don’t need any more babies in this world, whether they be boys or girls.

Becoming a parent is an ego death for the mother. But not for the father. When a couple has a child, the woman becomes a woman and the man stays a man. In the sense that, the role of being a mother is inescapable. A baby is latched to you 24/7 in a way that isn't the case for the father. Even if you were pumping and so that the father could get up and feed the baby instead, you still are going to have to get up to pump to keep your production. There's nothing that a man can do that the woman doesn't already have to do. Most men continue their extracurricular activities as normal, having days out with the boys meanwhile women find that they can't even take a shower anymore without requiring advanced coordination. I mean heck, the fact that men can have multiple families but a woman never can, speak to this fact.

Prior to this, as just a couple without children - you can have gender equality. So if you don't already have it at that stage, you will definitely never have it when you have children.

But the act of having a child is an inescapable gender inequity. Parenthood can never be 50/50 even with a very involved partner. I think this is a very hard pill to swallow.
