a black cat has crossed your path, what luck! this little screen-printed chat noir can be found over in my shop.
on sunday night, i went down to london on the sleeper train. on monday night i came back. it was nice to have a day to wander around, meet people & be all self-indulgent with my drawing (a perfect example of the "nothingness" that this article berates, & that this response from lizzy stewart celebrates). as a result, a zine. but not for another few days; once i've finished doing drawings for other people. then i get to be self-indulgent again.
after a small (but much longer than planned) hiatus, i've reopened my shop. i originally closed it as i had a busy couple of months coming up, & had hoped to reopen with lots of new work to sell. life hasn't stopped being busy though, so i've had to make do with just one new print, but i'm going to be giving away one of my pushpin bookmarks with the next few orders.
i've missed my little shop. i had a dream about it the other night, which was a little kick up the rear to get it in shape again. that said, i may have a small shop hiatus at some point in the near future, but more about that another time.
i'm pretty excited to finally have these two prints up for pre-order in my shop! after a bit of a delay, botanic I & botanic II are now on sale. these images are two of my favourite things i've done in recent times - i don't often put my own work up in my flat, but i'd rather like to get these two framed & on the wall. you can buy each print individually or buy both for a discounted price.
alongside these two brand new prints, i'm also bringing back a print from a long-sold-out edition in digital form. i often get reprint requests for a few items i've run out of, but i don't have much interest in bringing many of them back, mostly due to feeling that the image doesn't reflect my current work/style/thoughts/feelings. however, i've always had a soft-spot for this little bison, & am pleased to offer a new version of it.
things that april has taught me so far:
clutter is detrimental to your bank balance
clothes moths are rude & do not wait for an invite into your home
my mother was right all along; hoovering is important
currently waiting on a flight in christchurch so thought i'd share this; i've got a couple of things in issue two of sad girls. much thanks to lovely leah goren for having me.

trying to worry less about looking like i'm being productive/what others think/money. focussing on enjoying experimenting/making a mess/taking my time. that said, you can generally find evidence of said mess making here & some suggestion of messes made here.
we went walking around some forests looking for birds & waterfalls today. clambered around pathways, listened to rushing rivers, saw nesting peregrine falcons. it finally feels like spring. this image is from 2009, but it rings true once a year.
