Alfred, as a character and not just a nation, is very intriguing. He’s his brother’s greatest achievement and his greatest disappointment. A failure, but a winner. Put up on a pedal stool from a young age to show off to the rest of the world. He was a catch that everyone wanted, and when he finally got caught, he was paraded around and boasted about like a fancy prize.
People wanted him, but gave up on him as soon as the odds turned against their favor. His family loves the image of him that they created, but are indifferent to how he really is. Rotating between awe and pity and nothing in between. His friends either act like he’s a nuisance or hang off his arm.
He’s needed but scorned. Wanted but pushed away as soon as he’s done with the task, and having them act as they never asked for his help in the first place. As a person, it’s hard not to feel bad for him.

It's so funny seeing people who are like "Val is irredeemable villain but Vox could be redeemed" like... Vox embodies all evil of capitalist greed. He not only enables all things that Valentino does. He's probably also a libertarian fuckboy who profits of slavery, abuses his employees and is responsible for hundreds of lives ruined or ended. His favourite things are brainwashing and unpaid child labour. And don't get me started about the environmental damage his tech corporation caused and consequences of medial propaganda.
Just like, you know, real life billionaires who historically proven to be more of a menace to the society than singular abusive freaks*. And irl we even have all those laws and regulations that sometimes even work (to some extend). Imagine how those guys that occasionally finance literal genocides on Earth would act in Hell.
*Though I think that Vox is an abusive sexual freak as well but I have no other evidence than the fact that he has cameras everywhere and is in love with Valentino so there must be something wrong with him.
I like thinking about what a check-up at the doctor's would be like for a nation. Like they get their knee hit with that little reflex mallet and the doctor is like "hmm, yes, something is up with the railroads in the south."
No but fr it's probably exactly like a normal physical except the doctor has to take into account the state of the economy or politics or any recent natural disasters. I feel like certain symptoms are like this:
Blizzard/cold wave = low body temp, mild frostbite, hypothermia in extreme cases
Capital crisis= cardiac arrest, fast pulse, high blood pressure
Disease outbreaks = whatever disease is widespread
Drought = dehydration, dry and flaking skin, rashes
Economic troubles/recession = common cold/fever, lethargy and fatigue
Flood = vomiting, kidney issues
Famine = malnourishment, hunger pains, eternal hunger
Earthquake = convulsions, dizziness, muscle cramps
Heatwave = heatstroke
Hurricane = dizziness, nausea, vomiting, shortness of breath
Political unrest = dizziness, nausea, headaches, stomach aches, mood swings, high blood pressure, auditory hallucinations, psychosis if severe
Tornado = dizziness, confusion, nausea, shortness of breath
Tsunamis = vomiting, dizziness, muscle cramps,
Volcanic eruptions = severe burns, high fever, coughing smoke, shortness of breath
Wildfires = burns, sometimes actual fire is visible, coughing smoke
And if there are any fatalities, other symptoms will show up depending on the death toll. symptoms such as PTSD, nightmares, hallucinations, and a profound sense of loss.
