About what you say about communication, I also think that Marinette had a bad role model in Fu in how the miraculous should be handled (though Fu didn't get the tools to deal with it when he was the guardian and there were traumatic experiences since young, but still not a good role model). And I wouldn't say Adrien has very good role models. It's a good thing he at least made some friends cause...

This is what makes the show unique. There are no perfect role models and that the stereotypical rules that heroes have to abide to can cause more harm than good.

Fu wasn't fit to be a guardian from the start and his mistakes and fear made him overprotective and overbearing with the rules and secrecy. He's not a bad person and as you've mentioned, was traumatised too (hell he was still alive during the world wars lol).

Su-Han has potential to be a good role model but we know very little of him and we haven't seen him since Furious Fu. Though, I believe that he can help out with alleviating Marinette's guardian duties.

Adrien's only good role models so far are his friends which has its downsides because they're children and make plenty of mistakes- especially Ladybug. He still has her on a pedestal and believes that she can't do no wrong when in actuality, her biggest blunder right now is keeping him 100% in the dark because she's scared of getting him akumatised again (when she's unaware that it's not her fault). Plus, it doesn't help that he has trouble expressing negative emotions due to being brought up in a way that makes him mask his own emotions.

These idiots need to talk. Fear and secrecy is just in the way. Once they do get the miscommunications out of the way, they will be unstoppable.

i am not joking we need to force teach cooking in schools. like. it is an essential thing for survival. do you know how easy it is to make things if you know even the bare bones shit about how cooking works. we need to teach teenagers how far you can take an onion and some other veggies it''s sad that people grow up not knowing how to prepare literally anything. and i'm not talking about oh this home ed class taught me how to make chicken nuggets at home i'm talking about learning the balancing of sweetness and acidity and saltiness and bitterness and shit like that and techniques and oil temperatures and how meats cook. it needs to be taught because it's literally not even that difficult and it matters so much

i feel like people are ascribing way too logic into marinette’s decision making right now. marinette is not thinking logically. and that does not mean “marinette has flawed reasoning” or “marinette is making choices on bad logic” - i mean she is literally not applying logical thought. she is avoiding these conversations out of fear. she’s not paternalistically “making decisions for chat noir’s own good” or deciding what is best for him without his input. she’s avoiding a hard conversation.

this has been a consistent character flaw of marinette. she does fine with some confrontations, but emotionally heavy convos with people important to her? that is something that she has always gotten anxious about and avoided. telling adrien how she feels, telling chloe she can’t be queen bee anymore — even when she wants to do it or knows she has to, she procrastinates or avoids or self-sabotages. marinette not talking to chat noir - about rena and identities, about chat blanc - is the same thing. she’s avoidant.

now, with chat noir, she does have extra reasons to avoid it. with chloe, she knew she had to. with adrien, she wants to. but with chat? having that additional “it’s a safety risk” and “what if it makes things worse” is an excuse she tells herself and maybe others, but it’s not the real reason she hasn’t talked to him. marinette is bad at perspective taking. she’s not thinking “i need to keep this from him because he can’t handle it,” she’s thinking “i never want to talk about this ever because i can’t handle it.” yes, it’s unfair to chat noir and it’ll bite them both in the ass. but marinette’s flaws are not master fu’s flaws or gabriel agreste’s flaws, even when from the outside she is doing something similar.

she’s scared of that conversation. full stop. safety risks and worry about his reaction are all rationalizations she’s using to justify her avoidance.

Adrien's anger is a direct parallel and learned behavior from his father. Remember how Gabriel destroyed that front room over A BOOK and Adrien's response wasn't of shock, but of sadness? He's used to this behavior from his father. Adrien also has an expectation placed upon him to always be perfect and avoid showing his emotions (I mean Gabriel outright compared him to his emotional mother when Adrien confronted him in the past), so it's no wonder he experiences emotional outbursts due to holding everything in for too long. Even at the end of senti bubbler he smiles with ladybug and pretends he's okay, but he's not. Maybe he's not even fully aware of the resentment that's brewing, and/or he's afraid of ladybug's reaction if he expressed his concerns because of how he's used to his father reacting to conflict. The difference between Adrien and Gabriel though is that Adrien seemed to regret destroying that wall and said "I guess miraculous ladybug will fix it," and he stopped himself from destroying that christmas tree, whereas Gabriel has rarely if ever shown remorse for his anger. It shows that Adrien has room for growth, while Gabriel is almost irredeemable

Characters making bad choices and doing bad things and being emotionally unintelligent sometimes is something that can actually be. So good. And make characters feel more real and relatable and, actually, likable

Hey, Miraculous Ladybug is doing one of my favorite things, where characters are making a mistake that we, the audience, can tell is a mistake, but we, the audience, can also see why those mistakes are being made. It's not the right thing to do, but we can see why the characters think it's the right thing to do.

We know that the Ladynoir conflict is, to some extent, based around a lack of communication. Ladybug doesn't really know how much her decisions are hurting Chat because Chat doesn't tell her, and Chat doesn't know how much Chat Blanc is hurting Ladybug because Ladybug refuses to tell him.

Ladybug knows that Chat doesn't like being kept in the dark much, but it's easy for her to justify it to herself when the alternative is Chat Blanc. She doesn't know that Chat nearly quit because of secrets being kept from him, and she doesn't know that the current situation gets Chat so angry he breaks things. As far as she knows, Chat just gets kind of pouty. It sucks, but she'd rather Chat get kind of pouty than get akumatized. She doesn't know that her behaviors might lead to Chat getting akumatized for a different reason, because Chat won't explain it to her, because, well, Chat's been raised in an environment where his opinions and feelings do not matter. Trying to tell his dad that he doesn't like the way he's treated has been fruitless so far, so it's not too hard for him to treat Ladybug the same way. Better to hide his feelings and not risk making Ladybug mad by questioning her.

Chat does know that Ladybug has been under a lot of stress lately, and has offered to help. He might be a bit disappointed that he wasn't able to help her, but she seems to be handling it on her own, so that's okay. He has no reason to believe that Ladybug might still be stressed about anything other than the usual Hawkmoth fights. But she is, and she refuses to talk to him about it because, well, would you want to tell your superhero partner about an alternate timeline in which he gets akumatized and kills everyone in Paris? Better just keep quiet, try to deal with it on her own. She doesn't want to make Chat sad, or risk him getting akumatized.

This is going to blow up in both of their faces and it's going to be great.

What do you think about Ladybug and Chat Noir's partnership in season 4 so far?

I'm not actually watching season 4 until all the episodes are out in English and I can liveblog it with my bro. However, based on some of the stuff I've seen in other people's posts, I'll say that 'Kwamibuster' seems to be coming to bite our main characters in the ass. The episode where every other character insisted to Marinette that she could definitely not trust Cat Noir is clearly behind Marinette refusing to even tell Cat Noir that their team has three full-time members now, because the lesson Marinette took away from 'Kwamibuster' was that she can't keep anyone in the loop and the less Cat Noir knows the better it is for everyone.

Like, I noticed that Marinette was being set up to take after Fu in episodes like 'Backwarder' and 'Feast', but I mostly thought it was going to be about her dragging her feet in solving her love life issues by going "duty first". However, in addition to that Marinette really is taking after Fu in the worst possible ways in that she just refuses to let anyone in unless the situation simply can't be solved without opening up to someone. 'Gang of Secrets' was basically the 'Collector' for Marinette, the episode where the lone Guardian realizes that they can't keep going on in total secrecy, and then picks someone else to open up to while Cat Noir is left to not even know there was a situation to be solved. I'm saying Marinette is probably gonna get her own 'Syren', when she finally realizes that the current level of secrecy is damaging the team. And just like Marinette was the key in 'Syren', Alya will probably be the key to Marinette realizing that Cat Noir is being needlessly excluded.

The show is even setting up the reasons why Marinette doesn't realize she's actually shutting her partner out; Marinette is so busy with her Guardian duties that she doesn't have time to spend being with Cat Noir, and the increased size of the team means she's splitting her attention so she's more likely to miss anything wrong in her dynamic with Cat Noir. This means that, unlike Fu, Marinette is still sympathetic to me within this plot. I don't want what's going on to blow up in her face, because it couldn't be clearer that she isn't intending for things to be one-sided. On the contrary, she's trying to improve the situation for everyone.
