How did Sam have the exact card for that? maybe he just knows Max that well? yes and no, i got lazy so he conveniently had it-
Sam got back from work, brought Max a sandwich and Max is very happy to talk to him again. One thing to note, Sam decides to learn sign language because Max said he hated reading of the cards; and Max barely ate that sandwich-. He goes to the classes when its slow day, and teaches them to Max when he gets home <3. Although Max later goes blind, he still goes just not as much anymore.

Max while denying any help or telling Sam how he's feeling, the disease is getting worse in his favor. Max stays in the bathroom at night, he doesn't want to mess up the bed. Sam would wash the sheets but Max cant bare to see that. Max had many sleepless nights but during the day he eventually takes a nap somewhere or on Sam. After a while he loses his hearing, he can't exactly or clearly hear Sam anymore. He barely eats because of the lavender and blood ruining the taste. He also thinks just going to puke it out like everything else, but he is trying to eat for Sam. Since Max can still kinda see, he can occupy himself withs games or drawings until Sam gets back or Sam takes Max with him. Max after a while gets tired from walking so Sam carries him sometimes, and with people bumping on he's aching body he kinda hates going out but he likes being with Sam. Sam likes and hates bringing Max out. Sam eagers or begs Max to eat or sleep and is happy when he actually does. Seeing Max looking so peaceful is nice, his fake smile during the time he's wake hurts him. After that Max loses his eyesight, Now he can't hear nor see Sam which he hates. He doesn't leave the house now unless he could convince Sam enough. He rarely talks now, he doesn't even rush for the phone not like he could hear it. Sam got him fidget toys and only takes one case a day so he could watch Max. He feels worried enough when he leaves. Max is mostly always with Sam, he feels safe and not alone. Max kinda says his thoughts out loud, so while Sam is petting him as comfort, Max is slowly chatting away until he falls asleep. Sam finds himself waking near the coach or in the bathroom with Max. That's all for now, nest post with be wholesome I promise-

I gotta admit, I am such a sucker for hanahaki AUs. They're just fun hhhhhhh something about that creeping physical pain and the dread of knowing that you could alleviate that pain, but only by potentially hurting yourself and someone else emotionally T-T it's the pain of loving someone so much that you refuse to care for yourself in the interest of protecting them from your own desires....or something poetic like that lmao. anyway I love that in this one it's just that Max is awful at communicating jfkdlghslk;jfdskfhs

Hanahaki Lavender AU
An Au where Max has a Hanahaki disease, that finally caught up to him. (P.S. he doesn't die-) Wanted to play and try out the concept of this, plus no one as used lavender >:). Bro i swear we're always bullying Max-/hj I shall try to post more about is Au or go more in depth with it TvT...
General Lore down here:
Meaning :"Hanahaki Disease is a fictional disease in which the victim coughs up flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love. It ends when the beloved returns their feelings (romantic love only), or when the victim dies. It can be cured through surgical removal, but when the infection is removed, the victim's romantic feelings for their love also disappear." - Wikipedia (altered a bit to be shorter)
It can also be about repressing emotions, like how the love is kinda one-sided unless you express how you feel to cure yourself. (if they like you back that is)
So, in the general, It started I guess when Max was repressing emotions a bit too much. You know how he is, a show, no tell guy.
It was just cough and little petals/flowers coming it but he mostly had it for years now just building up, sometimes he said what he had to say so that's it didn't affect him badly for the time being.
He got the scars from a case. Sam covered them open but Max realizes that their not healing. Four weeks after the scars:
Max before:
Feels uneasy mostly everywhere (like the lavenders inside make him uncomfortable)
Only coughs up a few petals and flowers
Unsure what's happening to him
Doesn't want or need Sam to know, it's not really a bother to him
L!Max:
They started to sprout from the scars and open places on him
He now coughs out a lot more, full ones now (with blood sometimes)
The scars won't heal because of the spourt, blood turns purple
Weak and tired (it's hard to sleep with the coughs and the pain bothering him)
Due to the lavender growing out his eye, he's slowly getting blind and changing color
He kept on repressing and tell Sam not to worry and it's killing him kinda faster. Eventually, he gave into the fact that hey I'm probably not gonna make so he stops repressing his thoughts and feelings, talks/vents with Sam a lot more not knowing it's curing him. (eventually realizes he's getting better tho)
