honestly tho that scene in the incredibles where mr. incredible sees the names of all the old super heroes that used to be his friends / that he knew from Back in the Day and how every one of them has been killed by syndrome is such a chilling scene for so many reasons 

like for one, everyone he knew is dead at this point and has been killed on the same island he’s at now and two, its heartbreaking bc that means that almost every hero wanted to try out being a hero again despite the laws against it and wanted to try and help someone out and relive their glory days, only to be straight up murdered like fuck that scene is just so fuckin intense

Reading this post I've become far more concerned about men who assume women don't know what they want. If your excuse for acting like an asshole when someone asks you not to is "oh women don't know what they want" then you have a problem. No one wants to be treated like an object and given no respect and if you think that's the way to a woman's heart you will have awful relationships because that's how emotional abuse begins. Like @alarajrogers said there's a difference between being predatory and assertive and y'all need to learn what it is.

Have you considered: Male sexuality doesn't need to be predatory.

Male attraction does not need to be a conquest, the cat in a cat-and-mouse, a game where you can “score”, a victory when you get what you want. 

Men do not have to be predators on the hunt to experience attraction or to seek a relationship. Women do not have to be prey.

Amazon workers 'refuse' to build tech for US immigration, citing Hitler

'IBM’s systems were employed in the 1940s to help Hitler. We will not let that happen again'

People working for Amazon have written to the company’s CEO, Jeff Bezos, to protest the sale of facial recognition tools and other technology to police departments and government agencies.

The workers cite the use of Amazon technology by the US Department of Homeland Security and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, which have been criticised for enforcing Donald Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy, which has seen parents separated from their childrenat the US border.

“As ethically concerned Amazonians, we demand a choice in what we build, and a say in how it is used,” the letter states. “We learn from history, and we understand how IBM’s systems were employed in the 1940s to help Hitler.

“IBM did not take responsibility then, and by the time their role was understood, it was too late.

“We will not let that happen again. The time to act is now.”

Holocaust experts claim IBM’s German subsidiary directly supplied the Nazis with technology which assisted the operation of concentration camps at Auschwitz and Treblinka.

In their letter to Mr Bezos, the Amazon workers said they would “refuse to build the platform” which powers ICE, or any technology used to violate human rights.

Listing three demands, the workers called on the CEO to stop selling the technology to law enforcement, stop providing infrastructure to partners which enable ICE, and implement stronger transparency measures.

“Our company should not be in the surveillance business; we should not be in the policing business; we should not be in the business of supporting those who monitor and oppress marginalized populations,” the letter concludes.

While in general I hate calling people nazis and comparisons to awful people of the past. We really have reached nazi levels of racism in America. People are calling ICE and militarized police on people knowing it may get them killed because of racism. People are going out of their way to put immigrants and black people in danger because of their petty grudges. People are supporting inhumane treatment of other human beings because they are "not american" and that is not ok.

We can still win back net neutrality after the repeal goes into effect, and here’s how (IMPORTANT)

On June 11th, the net neutrality repeal that the FCC voted on in December will be going into effect. I know that sounds scary, and I bet a lot of you think we’re doomed, but don’t give up hope! Yes, there is a CRA to protect net neutrality that might be passed, but if it doesn’t there are other things we can do. Here’s how we can keep fighting for our free and open internet:

* Get a VPN. These bad boys will make it so that your identity is protected online, you are protected from hackers, and you will still be able to access any website, even the ones ISPS will try to block and throttle!

* Switch to local broadband if you can! The big mean corporations that want net neutrality dead want your cash, they’re greedy as heck. Don’t give them the money! If enough people switch to local broadband and they start to lose business big time, they’ll know how much they screwed themselves over and may feel like bringing nn back would be the way to save their company and gain their reputation back (but we all know that some injuries stay forever. Karma yo.) Not only that but you’d be supporting local businesses and that’s a dope thing to do!!

* Join a protest, but do it PEACEFULLY. I CAN’T STRESS HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO NOT BE VIOLENT. Violence only leads to a worse conflict, people will think we’re a bunch of sjw weirdos and that will be used against us (also violence is just bad as a whole.)

* Go to libraries!!! They’re a good source of information for when you need it!!!

* Save as many things to your computer/phone/etc as you can before June 11th!!! If there’s any information/resources/etc from a site you want/need that you get the feeling might be blocked out/throttled, save it!!! Copy text into notepad or something!! Save images into your photo gallery!!! At least you’ll have it!!

* Keep checking in on what your states are doing!! I believe around 22 different states are trying to create their own laws protecting nn, (and even attempting to sue the FCC I’ve heard?? Someone pls correct me if I’m wrong on that.) And be sure to support those state protections!!

* VOTE FOR PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT NN IN THE MIDTERMS IF YOU ARE OLD ENOUGH TO VOTE!!

* Do NOT stop fighting, they want us to give up, don’t let them have that victory.

* Have hope, be optimistic, but actually partake in the fight, don’t just sit on your butt!! And keep calm yet vigilant.

If anyone knows anything else we can do to help bring back nn, please add onto this!! We can still win in the end!! Even if we are without nn for a while.

I think the reason I enjoy Ghibli so much is it romanticizes the little things. It makes me want to bake, study, clean the house, garden, and more while listening to happy music and occasionally picking wildflowers and lying in the grass. It helps me find joy in day-to-day life and that’s honestly sooo important for my mental health.
