knife theory

if the pain you caused me was something straight-forward and physical like a knife to my heart, how would i react?

in one universe i would look you dead in the eye as you twist and turn the knife inside of me instead of begging you to stop.

in another universe i would leave the knife in me until scar-tissue grows over it and it becomes part of me.

in the last universe i pull the knife out from where you put it in between my ribs and stab you with it as i bleed to death. then lick the blade and let the iron of us both be my last meal.

you have to admit it: most if not all animals are very brave. they do a lot of things and dont always know whats going to happen. they have beautiful eternal souls because of this

older I get the less interest I have in explaining myself to people who aren’t even important to me. if you want to misunderstand me or create a narrative in your head about me that’s really not my problem… I know who I am

they need to invent somewhere where I belong

hold on for one more night, one more day. appreciate all the little things keeping you connected to the world. tell yourself the end can wait one more day. see how you feel tomorrow. see if you can keep going a while longer.

a lot of loving and being loved by people is recognizing when they're sincerely trying to help or comfort you even if their words are clunky and unhelpful at best and holding onto the sentiment that they are trying to reach for you at all. and a lot of the time that has to be enough because it's all you're going to get

“in order to create loving males we need to love males” means teach boys that they can be themselves without being less of a man. it means being encouraging and nurturing of their emotions so they don’t become cold and hateful. it means showing boys, early in their lives, that they have value outside of what our society deems proper masculinity. what it doesn’t mean is that it’s our job to handhold men who see women as walking sex toys through the concept of empathy, and maybe if we’re really really nice to them and don’t say things that hurt their feelings they’ll stop killing us for saying no
