I think Eloise as we see her needs to be with someone who cares about rights for women and causes as much as she does. The Eloise we see in the show would not be content with someone who merely tolerates her activism or is generally disinterested these causes, and only cares about them through her.
As well as that, this Eloise doesn’t belong in the country, safe and tucked away quietly in a manor house. She doesn’t belong in posh London society either. Where she belongs is the political meetings such as where she ran into Theo. Amongst people who challenge her and challenge the world. She would belong in intellectual salons and the bohemian world where Benedict has made a space for himself.
She belongs where the action is, where the crowds are gathering and are laying the foundations for a change in the world. That is where she belongs, and she belongs with someone who would stand beside her and match her as she marches, step by step.
BRIDGERTON UNPOPULAR OPINION
I like they made Francesca lesbian instead of Eloise, imo they break the stereotypes this way.
In one hand they show that a “feminine” girl (I mean it under the hegemonic idea of feminine and masculine) can be a lesbian. Thats important because there’s A LOT of people who still believe that a lesbian has to be a women dressed as a boy, like sexuality had anything to do with anything else besides sexual preferences. Sexuality it’s not a mold of personality and I appreciate every representation of that we can get.
On the other hand, by not no making Eloise a lesbian they also break the stereotype that EVERY feminist women it’s a lesbian, like feminism was about hating man and hence a feminist shouldn’t be attracted to men. I kinda feel making El a lesbian could lead to that stereotype and downplay her political believes, like her denial to fit into society was about her dislike of men and not about her dislike of a whole system were women are given so little opportunities.
There’s a lots of people who still see thing that way, reducing lesbians to male wanna be and feminists to man hater, like everything had to be about men in some way, so I highly appreciate the representation of lesbian and feminist women outside that stereotypes.
I am also procrastinating actually writing. If you’ve multiple works in progress you can give a different answer every time!

Here's a snippet:
They lost track of time, then, arguing for the sake of arguing. “The two of you bicker like an old married couple,” Francesca would say, to which Eloise would rather eloquently respond, “Fuck you.”
