Season Two Bookbinding Finally Complete!! If You Haven’t Seen My Season One Copy, It’s Here :D

ID: The front cover of a bookbound copy of The Silt Verses season 2. It has a white background with black text that reads "The Silt Verses". Beneath that, "Jon Ware - 2 - Muna Hussen" is written. Beneath all of that is a large arch, inside of which is a silhouette of Carpenter in front of a water-colored moor landscape. The sky is cloudy, and there are patches of red and yellow flowers amongst the grasses. A lichen covered rock is in the foreground. Carpenter is pictured in profile, with a backpack on her back and carrying a satchel. One hand is tucked into her pocket, and her face is framed by a halo. /end ID
ID: The spine of the book. In a white box at the top of the spine is the season two logo (a variation of the Wither Mark that looks like broken stained glass). At the bottom, in another white box, "Ware & Hussen" is written in black text. Between the two boxes, on a black background, is the Cairn Maiden. She wears a white dress with wide sleeves and a white veil over her face. The bottom of the dress is covered in dirt. She also wears a crown of hemlock flowers, and behind her head, though barely visible, is a halo made of dark green/gold willow leaves. Her arms are crossed over her chest and are gray and covered in holes and maggots. Her fingers are long, and dirt is falling from her palms. /end ID
ID: The back cover of the book. In a box at the top portion of the book is a summary of the season. It reads, "Months after the miracles at Bellethers and Marcel's Crossing, a pair of god-hunters are approached by an adjudicator of the Peninsulan Government and offered a new contract. Meanwhile, a young prophet unexpectedly returns home to his people, while a lost pilgrim awakes in a garden of the dead somewhere farther east. And across the border, two unlikely allies begin to birth a new god." Beneath this box is a water-colored moor landscape, covered in rocks and patches of grass and flowers. A path winds around the hillside. /end ID
ID: The book, opened to a point in chapter 20. /end ID
ID: The book standing up so that the front cover and spine are visible. /end ID

Season two bookbinding finally complete!! If you haven’t seen my season one copy, it’s here :D

Here's An Addition To The Previous Mal Redesign I Posted, Just With An Extra Outfit. This Is My Take

Here's an addition to the previous Mal redesign I posted, just with an extra outfit. This is my take on her coronation dress at the end of the story, fully embracing the red palette that was previously creeping in, now that she's standing in her individuality, away from and opposing her mother.

I wanted her coronation look to have a mix of princess and lightness in there, but not take away the witchiness and villain aesthetic from her. I also gave her a small cape to reflect her hero moment at that point in the story.

These are some images I was looking at for her two looks, going back to some early concepts from Sleeping Beauty (1959):

Spy x Family = romance for people who fantasize about getting married and having kids

Kaguya-Sama = romance for people who deal with anxiety

Horimiya = romance for teenagers (seriously, this is the most “teenage romance” anime series I’ve encountered)

My Dress Up Darling = romance specifically for nerds and geeks (because Marin and Gojo are nerds in their own way and the show’s message is about embracing what you love)

Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It = romance for socially awkward people / people who don’t really get social cues

Grand Blue = romance for fratbros and sorority girls

DanDaDan = romance for weeeeiiiird people (affectionately)

hi, i just wanted to ask why did ronin and angel break up? also, love your game, i think ive replayed it around 5 times now. thanks for answering, if you do <3

i have lots of thoughts about this... i feel like to explain why they broke up u need to know why they got together:

ronin and angel got together partly out of proximity: feeling like they were the only ones that understood each other. they were also the only people in the server at that point which meant for about 2 weeks it was just them flirting.

angel felt safe with ronin bc unlike the men she's been with before, he actually respects her boundaries and genuinely cares about her (the bar is in hell). the fact that ronin's a trans guy helps, too: angel felt a sense of safety in his transness cause like he's dealt with everything that comes with growing up afab; he understands in a way that her past relationships don't, or don't care to understand. and ronin is quite the devilish gentleman. like angel says in game, being with ronin is the first time she truly felt safe with anyone.

as an additional point, i think angel feels guilty about "using" ronin in this sense and fears invalidating his masculinity; "does ronin think that i think he's not 'really a man' which is why i'm with him and feel safe with him?? because i don't think that" but i feel like that's a whole other ask haha. angel has a lot to unpack i'm ngl. anyway ronins answer to that is stop worrying your pretty little head.

ronin felt safe with angel because he was subconsciously projecting ther, his first love (who he still has a lot of unprocessed feelings about) onto angel. angel gives him the push-pull of ther, but without the heartbreak that came with them. angel is "his girl", now, someone he can focus on and care about, someone that he can be with, who acts similar enough to ther that he can almost pretend it's them. (as for a fun fact, angel's VA is ther's VA from gluttony gods!) even though angel's not and will never be.

angel and ronin's relationship was more out of necessity: it helped angel process her feelings about men (to an extent) and helped ronin get closure too. after realising this though, they realised they worked better as friends - because they were mutually using the other to cope and process feelings, even if it was mutually beneficial.

thank you for your ask! <3 i'm glad you enjoyed the game so much :3

The 100% Good Twine SugarCube Guide!

The 100% Good Twine SugarCube Guide!

The 100% Good Twine SugarCube Guide is a coding guide for the SugarCube format of Twine. It is meant as an alternative to the SugarCube documentation, with further explanations, interactive examples, and organised by difficulty. The goal of this guide is to make the learning curve for new SugarCube user less steep, and provide a comprehensive and wide look over the format.

VIEW / DOWNLOAD THE GUIDE!!!!

The Guide is compartmentalised in (currently) four categories:

THE BASICS or the absolute basics to start with SugarCube. No need for extra knowledge. Just the base needed to make something.

THE BASICS + adding interactivity, and creating a fully rounded IF game May require a bit of CSS knowledge (formatting rules)

INTERMEDIATE MODE adding more customisation and complex code Will probably require some CSS knowledge, and maybe some JavaScript

ADVANCE USE the most complex macros and APIs Will surely require some JavaScript/jQuery knowledge

Note: The Advanced Use includes all the APIs, macros, and methods not covered by the previous categories. This includes code requiring very advance knowledge of JavaScript/jQuery to be used properly.

Each category explains many aspects of the format, tailored to a specific level of the user. More simpler explanations and examples are available in earlier chapters, compared to the later ones.

If something is unclear, you found a mistake, you would like more examples in the guide, or would like a feature covered, let me know!

The Guide currently covers all macros (as of SugarCube v.2.37.3), all functions and methods, and APIs. It touches upon the use of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery, when relevant. It also discusses aspects of accessibility.

The Guides also provides a list of further resources, for the different coding languages.

The Guide is available in a downloadable form for offline view:

HTML file that can be opened in Twine

.tw file that can be opened in Twine

source code, separating the chapters, .js and .css files

GITHUB REPO | RAISE AN ISSUE | TWINE RESOURCES TWEEGO | TEMPLATES | CSCRIPT 2 SG GUIDE

Twine® is an “an open-source tool for telling interactive, non-linear stories” originally created by Chris Klimas maintained in several different repositories (Twinery.org). Twine is also a registered trademark of the Interactive Fiction Technology Foundation.

SugarCube is a free (gratis and libre) coding format for Twine/Twee created and maintained by TME.

VIEW / DOWNLOAD THE GUIDE!!!!

As of this release (v2.0.0), it is up to date with the version 2.37.3. If you are looking for the guide covering SugarCube 2.36.1, you can find it on my GitHub.

Note: the Guide is now complete. There won't be further substantial updates.

the whole point of a zine is that it's cheap to produce, amateur and homemade. if you're being asked to apply to participate in a print project, it is not a zine. if the final product is being printed and bound professionally, it is not a zine. if you are being asked to enter into any kind of licensing agreement more complex than "my work can be reproduced as part of this publication" it is not a zine. nine times put of ten if the final product costs more than $5 you have left zine country. im so serious about this.

I'm a big fan of wizards-as-programmers, but I think it's so much better when you lean into programming tropes.

A spell the wizard uses to light the group's campfire has an error somewhere in its depths, and sometimes it doesn't work at all. The wizard spends a lot of his time trying to track down the exact conditions that cause the failure.

The wizard is attempting to create a new spell that marries two older spells together, but while they were both written within the context of Zephyrus the Starweaver's foundational work, they each used a slightly different version, and untangling the collisions make a short project take months of work.

The wizard has grown too comfortable reusing old spells, and in particular, his teleportation spell keeps finding its components rearranged and remixed, its parts copied into a dozen different places in the spellbook. This is overall not actually a problem per se, but the party's rogue grows a bit concerned when the wizard's "drying spell" seems to just be a special case of teleportation where you teleport five feet to the left and leave the wetness behind.

A wizard is constantly fiddling with his spells, making minor tweaks and changes, getting them easier to cast, with better effects, adding bells and whistles. The "shelter for the night" spell includes a tea kettle that brings itself to a boil at dawn, which the wizard is inordinately pleased with. He reports on efficiency improvements to the indifference of anyone listening.

A different wizard immediately forgets all details of his spells after he's written them. He could not begin to tell you how any of it works, at least not without sitting down for a few hours or days to figure out how he set things up. The point is that it works, and once it does, the wizard can safely stop thinking about it.

Wizards enjoy each other's company, but you must be circumspect about spellwork. Having another wizard look through your spellbook makes you aware of every minor flaw, and you might not be able to answer questions about why a spell was written in a certain way, if you remember at all.

Wizards all have their own preferences as far as which scripts they write in, the formatting of their spellbook, its dimensions and material quality, and of course which famous wizards they've taken the most foundational knowledge from. The enlightened view is that all approaches have their strengths and weaknesses, but this has never stopped anyone from getting into a protracted argument.

Sometimes a wizard will sit down with an ancient tome attempting to find answers to a complicated problem, and finally find someone from across time who was trying to do the same thing, only for the final note to be "nevermind, fixed it".
