Wall Between Us . Forgot how I planned to start this thread but one of my… many New Year’s Resolutions will be to stop drawing just “because”. I won’t draw anything that I won’t be fully committed and interested in. So that was another project that won’t ever get finished but trying honestly, it also died after what.. episode 2, 3, 1? I will draw what I myself actually feel I can be proud of and focus and stuff that I might be better at and if it doesn’t live up to my expectations, then it will just get dumped into the garbage can or collect dust on my drive. It’s not like “activity” or some “algorithm” that just seems to help those who already have made it (just like some old teachers of mine :D) have helped me anyway so I don’t lose on just.. drawing what I want to draw and because I find it fun and relaxing. And if people on the internet like it.. cool. If they don’t.. Well, at least I finally do. But going back to “not draw just “because "", no clue what to do after this. The Miraculous Season-project sucked and both my Justice League and Avengers are almost done so I will have to come up with something new to do and that’s not always easy. Some Miraculous-Ideas and hopefully will do more Star Wars… book accurate Fellowship of the Rings? I have a Batman-Poster idea but that can wait till October. Spider-Man Day is in August… will have to be better on keeping track of birthdays cause the only tribute I remember was Jack Kirby but there are other legends that could be fun to give attention to. Original text were too long for Instagram but it was about how Fantastic Beasts handle representation of cultures and sexualities and how much I love Newt and his autism. A lot of people have complained about the use of Asien stereotypes or how they have handled (or not handled) Dumbledore and Grindelwald’s relationship. The conclusion was that I still wanted to see a character on the spectrum I actually can relate too but I don’t want the access to my representation to keep hurting the ones of others. So I watched Wakanda Forever last week! I liked it! The grief, the sorrow, the pain! No Way Home act 3 all over again! And a whole movie of it! Don’t want to spoil but it was good. One of Phase 4’s better movies. Haven’t done a list of all movies but it might be very high up there as well. Namor was fun to see! And how they handled his powers and backstory and they managed to make the wings on his ankles not dumb! I have always loved that part of his design and worried it would look bad on screen but he looked really cool in his unique way of flying and they managed to make him look terrifying. Rest in Peace, Kevin Conroy My idea here was to include Conroy's two most iconic versions. The appearance of the Arkham-game version in the place of the iconic shot from the animated intro. There have been many people given the honor to portray the role and voice of The Dark Knight. None has been as memorable as Kevin Conroy. Been a big part of a lot of people's childhood, being a pillar of the DCAU from the very start of Batman The Animated Series to the conclusion of Justice League Unlimited and Batman Beyond. And probably followed fans of those shows as they got older with a growing list of appearances in the popular Arkham-games, Injustice, animated movie-adaptations of stories like Flashpoint and The Killing Joke and one of the countless cameos in CW's Crisis on Infinite Earths. Conroy portrayed a version of Bruce Wayne that many has become familiar with. The scared little boy that never grew up, running around in a bat-costume, cold and distant mentor but caring father figure, brilliant detective, master tactician of the Justice League, and a close friend, every aspect of Batman's personality portrayed through nothing else but his voice. A big part of Conroy's role in the evolution of the Batman was to portray the both identities of Batman and Bruce with two voices, in which Batman's voice was showcased to be the natural one and Bruce simply be the real mask that he puts on. King T’Challa . Haven’t thought mush about seeing Wakanda Forever but if I do, I have the feeling it’s going to be good. Seems a lot of focus on greif and cultures and think a movie that might focus more on the rivalry of nations instead of chasing ”another glowing MacGuffin” could be good and say something important . Based on a really rude drawing I did in Elemantary School where I compared my friend’s obsession with his phone with Gollum and I can see now why he wasn’t a big fan of it. So if you follow me here, no clue who does and doesn’t, I want to say again, I’m sorry for my past behavior. But also interesting how it still seems relevant all these years later with everyone being on social media and wanting more likes, more followers, more activity and I think there’s a little bit of Gollum in all of us. Belated Jack Kirby-Tribute! Late Happy 105th! Don’t really feel he gets as much recognition as the Co-Creator of many characters among fans as he might deserve. Not as many talks about him as they do Stan Lee Yeah, due to his many apperances, everybody knows and loves Stan but he just did half of the work, maybe less. Sometimes, he just left the a note ”make them fight this guy” and Jack had to evolve the plot from there. With dynamic poses and impressive amount of details, Kirby drew many classic characters and designed big names like Fantastic Four, X-Men, Iron Man, Ant-Man and The Wasp, Thor and The Hulk and even the one that got to assemble them all as The Avengers in their first fight against Loki. Or design the first ever big Cosmic threath, Galactus, the planet-eater. And the nine realms of Asgard or the mysterious Negative Zone! Or introduce Black Panther, Marvel’s first black Superhero and the nation of Wakanda. Even back in the 40s when Stan Lee picked up lunch or refilled the ink, Jack together with Joe Simon were the ones that created Captain America AND the one to draw his return to the modern times. And during his time at DC, he created and wrote the New Gods who happens to involve Darkseid himself, who has the held the title of DC’s Big bad ever after and together with fellow New God Metron, the inspirations for Marvel’s Thanos. After that, he returned to Marvel and not really effected but created the lore of the origin of Marvel Universe with Eternals and Celestials, who had a hand in creating the universe itself and giving mankind the ability to develope superpowers.
