Well, no. At least, not after Season 5, where they were put in Alfea even after all of the Winx were graduated. Because in said S5 they were DE-AGED into 16. Mainly because Nickelodeon said so. That means in S5-8 all of the Winx are 16.

Nope, the majority in the fandom goes to Europe (especially Italy and Russia). Series was made in Europe and originally goes in Italian first. The "americisation" of fandom mainly begins with the start of Rainbow-Nickelodeon relationship and S5. So it's still mainly targeting to European viewer.

Every time I see someone shitting around about ILLEGAL SHIP OF FLORADIUM and other pedohysteria of Winx community, I wonder if these people know that characters of Winx club actually do age. It's not Simpsons, Winx get older (8th season was a crime against humanity), lose the minor status and theoretically can do whatever adults can do. Moreover, fandom is insanely American-centralized, starting from race-arguements to the persuading everyone that age of consent may be only 18, not 16 (even if in your country it's 16 lol, in some of the states it's even lower). What are your favourite moments between Tecna and Bloom? Theirs is a potentially very interesting dynamic that I don't think we ever got very much of. (I call their ship 'Thermistor' in my head, but feel free to come up with something else if you want.(

UM YES they are my favorite Tecna x Winx dynamic for reasons that will become clear.

(The shipname is brilliant anon I want to hug you. I’ve just been going with Firewall this whole time… real creative of me right?)

Also this got long (can you expect anything else from me at this point) so enjoy.

I always felt like they had the most, for lack of a better word, “equal” relationship. Stella first played the mentor role and guided Bloom a lot in the early days, Flora was both mom and mad scientist and a little bit eccentric to all, Musa was in her own snarky-Riveny-musical world, etc. but Tecna was the most down to earth (despite the advanced techno-lingo) which set up their relationship. In which she and Bloom weren’t afraid to go toe to toe with each other and challenge each other; Bloom would outright question Tecna’s logic (while the others mostly seemed to go along with it because tech is confusing) while Tecna knew how to tame ground Bloom in a way the others didn’t. They balanced each other out quite nicely.

At the same time, Tecna was also able and willing to listen to her, which was an early testament to her developing emotional intelligence (she didn’t just get it at the end of S1-S2). Tecna has this certain protectiveness over Bloom and it shows a lot in S2, where she explicitly expressed guilt for wanting to find the Codex after seeing Bloom’s blinded state (that arc was glorious and I actually forgot to put it in my Top Moments…damn).

Also disclaimer Season 1 is the freshest in my mind so I’m not gonna be able to ramble too much on the ones after.

One of my favorite moments of them is also one of my favorite Tecna moments overall: the post-ring theft. I already mentioned my thoughts in an earlier ask so I don’t have much to add besides the fact that it set up their dynamic quite early, and indicated to the audience then and there that Bloom is no leader and she is no sheep (lamb…sorry).

Tecna picks apart Bloom’s phone and she doesn’t even get mad (Tecna immediately apologized after. She’s always had hints of social intelligence which goes against what people normally stereotype her as…do I feel a meta idea incoming? we’ll see).

Tecna listens to Bloom at the swamp. Tecna doesn’t usually back down that easily, so I was surprised she did that early in the series. Once again this moment paints Tecna as a listener, able to quickly rationalize the situation and weigh other people’s opinions, which Bloom takes a while to learn how to do.

The header photo above - where Tecna saves Bloom and the others from falling asleep. She has a natural instinct for protection and is just so quick-witted and observant. And Bloom feels safe enough to rely on her. Literally if you showed me Winx with no context I'd think Tecna was the main character/leader.

Tecna lets her open the book when they’re at Cloudtower. Tecna knows it’s illogical to remain in the place when they’ve got like 5 minutes left (I would have run too, like Bloom come on), but she is so adaptable and flexible to her friends’ needs. This is reaching meta territory I swear-

Tecna and Bloom at Domino, where Bloom is actively listening to her. You can tell Bloom really respects her and sees her rationality as a guiding force. Everyone fucking respects Tecna except for Netflix. Also this line by Tecna: “don’t waste your energy Bloom, you are a princess.” That…that is big dick energy right there. That is I’m gonna have your daughter home by 10 energy right there. But on a more serious note, it showed how despite their differences Tecna greatly respected Bloom, and prioritized her safety above all. They also hug at the end of the episode, which is the first time I remember seeing Tecna welcoming affection. They’re in love your honor

Tecna cries when Bloom (and Stella) are about to leave to Cloudtower. I’m actually really fucking glad they let Tecna cry over Bloom before a guy. Tecna loves her friends so much that they were the first gateway to her accepting emotion, not Timmy. It showed how her legacy as a character is really more about her devotion to people rather than being someone’s robot or IT support, which I think even the later seasons (mostly tried to) keep.

In Season 2 the Cloudtower episodes were fundamental to advancing their friendship. They had to work together but bickered and made the situation worse…Tecna let go of her rationality at this moment, which now reminds me of the Avalon incident (my favorite overall moment of hers). These episodes really established Bloom and Tecna as equals (meeting their match), and again showed more of Tecna’s emotional side when she expresses guilt and takes responsibility for Bloom’s blinding. Like girl you were frozen by Icy give yourself a break. God I miss Season 2 and its ability to showcase all the girls’ personalities and friendships.

This is a small and unspoken moment in S2, but them crying together during Musa’s show made me melt. Just besties vibing, nbd.

In S3 all I can really remember was how determined Bloom was to get her back, and how she was the one who found her in person in the Omega Dimension. I know the arc was about my OTP/parents Tecna and Timmy but it was beautiful to see their friendship come full circle with Bloom holding Tecna’s safety at top priority.

There’s that one scene in Magical Adventure (movie 2) where Tecna scolds Timmy for making fun of Bloom’s double-parents situation. No one makes fun of my girlfriend, not even my boyfriend energy.

Oh and the Season 8 (sorry) volcano episode where Tecna is LEADING Bloom up the volcano. Then they strategize TOGETHER how to distract the golems (poor Stella). And then when she stops Aisha from fighting Valtor because “Bloom is in danger”. And then when Bloom willingly follows her inside the crater because Tecna says it’s okay to do so. Earlier in the season everyone was relying on Bloom to call the shots, but seeing the opposite really reminded me of the early days. Honestly Tecna came through the most in Season 8, but I’m totally not biased at all.

Anyways that is the End but tl;dr they are equals despite having contrasting personalities (calm and rational vs. fiery and impulsive), but they complement each other and in my eyes were on the most equal footing in the beginning. Bloom may be the heart, but Tecna is the ribcage. In other words I agree, their dynamic is very interesting, but sadly Fate the Tecna Deserved Better Saga didn’t feel the same. Hence my mission to raise money to buy her rights from Rainbow, when you, anon, and I can start our own show. On HBO.

I don't have many screencaps of Bloom and Tecna specifically and I'm too lazy to go sifting through the comics again but here's some of my fave stuff under the cut!

Bloom is even more of a DisasterTM in the comics and we see more of her doubting her place at Alfea, so her departure after the Diaspro Fiasco makes even more sense. Also Tecna being a little bit motherly towards her inventions <3

At one point the girls joke around about Bloom getting some major art block (the comics didn't forget that was a hobby of hers!) and it hits a nerve because her insecurity was what was bothering her when trying to draw :(

It was actually because of the sketchbook incident that Tecna wanted to apologise to Bloom, not the phone thing when they first met my bad. The others were joking around too so I think it's telling Tecna was the most regretful, like she often worries about not being able to connect to others or coming across as rude.
