I feel a lot of people have moral systems that are completely detached from centering avoiding real harm to real people and are mostly based on completely arbitrary obsessions with symbolic and abstract "wrongs" and gut feelings, and then they join progressive politics and make an absolute fucking mess out of everything with their weird little moralist obsessions that actually don't help improve anybody's life or serve any purpose besides making a few people feel morally superior. This is why for example anti-kink politics went from having a pretense of being about protecting vulnerable women from abusive men to just being very blatantly "if you have ever done kink at all you're ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew".

One really fun aspect of conversation about the water crisis that faces the American West (and genuinely much of the world) is when people ask something along the lines of “how do we solve it?” and expect this glorious answer that fits in the mindset of infinite growth or that doesn’t change the way the current world works and then you have to hold their hand and watch the light drain from their eyes as you tell them that our system is not sustainable which is why we’re in a crisis and it will take using less and drastically changing our habits or risk the consequences of running out of water and that this is the direction that we’re heading into in terms of all our resources

i will never fucking forgive the community on this site for the years of “ace discourse”. we were being actively hated for our orientations and everyone just treated it like a fucking debate topic or fucking mocked us for being effected by it. it became such a widespread thing to laugh at that even people who were otherwise okay with us were reblogging aphobic memes and getting mad that we “couldn’t take a joke” when we were upset by it.

and today, people who got swept up in aphobic movements look back at that time like “haha, i was such a cringe teen for participating in ace discourse” rather than “i was shitty and bigotted and i sincerely regret it”; a lot of them probably still ARE aphobic but just don’t talk about it anymore because it’s no longer trendy.

Okay, so I just saw a tiktok saying "hey, ao3 is not tiktok. Do not censor words, especially in the tags." I stg people are losing brain cells. The tiktoker then proceeded to show an example of the tag they saw which was:

"s..cidal ideation"

I don't know who needs to, once again, hear this, but you are stopping the tagging system, and filtration system from working.

People censor words on platforms like tiktok to stop the algorithm from picking up their video and automatically taking it down or restricting it.

A tagging system works so that other people can easily filter the content they do and don't want to see. So if some had "suicidal ideation" in their filtered tags so that they won't see things containing that subject matter, by censoring the word suicidal, you have now stopped the tagging/filtration system from working and now the individual is going to see content that they had made sure to filter out.

Please stop censoring words and/or phrases. Especially in tags. You are literally stopping the system from working and doing its job. Ao3 (and Tumblr) is not tiktok. The tags are there for a reason. Don't censor them.

Rewatching C2, and am finally getting the chance to understand and mourn the story we didn’t get to see with Molly’s death. 🥲

I’m with all the shippers. I’m almost positive we would have seen a Caleb and Molly relationship ramp up higher and higher throughout the campaign. You can see the seeds from the very start, and we’re not even talking that intimate moment with the wall and the glares.

Not to mention how the Nonagon story would have changed completely with Molly’s life. How Lucien’s crew would have become the villains. Maybe even making the Tabaxi Cleric the leader of the group. It wouldn’t have been as stunning. There is nothing more satisfying than the moment Jester scries on Molly and we realize who he has become.

But the story would have been so fascinating.

I adore Caduceus. He one of my favorite characters, and I am happy we got a story with him in it. But I’m definitely grieving Molly as I watch through C2 for the second time.
