I have over 50 fanfics on my Marked for LaterĀ list at AO3. This number never seems to decrease from 50 mainly because with each story I read, I check out the authorās other works and/ or their bookmarks. I am so grateful for the fanfic authors who have shared their stories as well as taking the time to recommend other stories. My Marked for Later is the kind of endless loop I actually like, the more fics I read, the more fics I add to it!

Truth
I used to think I had high standards for men but then realized this high standard was āwomenā
Margaret Atwoodās poetry inspired me to write volumes of angstful poetry (fear not, I will not share it) If I could recommend one of her poems, @entirelytookeen, it is this one: Ā

Have you tried Margaret Atwood's poetry?
I have not! I am a Philistine who only appreciates poetry by like⦠five people. Iām trying to widen my horizons, but itās slow going.Ā
āIām that bitchā - Ella Dawson while schooling an ignorant troll
Ella Dawson has genital herpes, and she wants to tell you about it.Ā
Sheās not speaking up for the shock value ā sheās telling you because she wants all of us to be able to talk about STIs without shame or stigma. When we make it okay to talk about, she says, people are more likely to get tested and less likely to be afraid to share their status.Ā
In her badass talk at TEDxConnecticut College, Ella tells the story of her diagnosis, how she overcame feeling like āhuman trash,ā and why we need to end the stigma ā now. Itās packed with information (and a shot of humor), and if you didnāt already agree with her, you will by the time sheās done.
Watch the full talk or read the transcript here.
(Full disclosure: Ella is TEDās social media manager. This post was written by her boss who is so incredibly proud of how fearlessly she speaks out.)
I'd read a critique of "Atomic Blonde" that panned the film as plotless, that it was merely a vehicle for Charlize Theron to inflict gratuitous violence against a series of men between sex scenes with Sofia Boutella. (FYI: This description was not a deterant for me to see it opening night). What they failed to mention was the: amazing 80s setting, fashions, and music; and intricate plot twists. There were two plot points which I found ... weak (see spoilers below) but other than that, ATOMIC BLONDE was pretty awesome! I highly recommend the film. Iām still not sure who Satchel was/is.
I have two critiques though (spoilers):Ā
Sound engineers who are aware of the tech in 1989 may have to close their eyes at one point and choose to "believe" in sound mixing gods.Ā
After threatening someone, I would not wander around my apartment in lingerie wearing headphones with the window open. Just Saying.
Saw Atomic Blonde last night. The above quote was my favourite line in the film. An excellent film which I will see again :)
you look different when you tell the truth. your eyes change.
Thank you @alexispayton for Fleimkepa! Such a creative and imaginative piece that felt so true to Clarke and Lexa's characters, at least where their character arcs were going before ... he who shall not be named scuttled them. And the last line, so perfect!

If I did, I would create Ā one for Clarke saying a big f*ck you to all of the people who have judged her over the past 4 seasons in the 100 to Frazey FordāsĀ āDoneā ->Ā https://youtu.be/PXRrySTujn8
Wow, this fandom. How did you even get these pics?
Apparently Clarkeās gun has all the names of people sheās lost and Lexaās name is the biggestā¦ā¦ā¦this is fine
It was so nice to see Clarke happy! I think she smiled more in this scene than in the all the episodes since 3x07 combined.

Hello! I was rewatching season 3 because ... clexa and realized this. Clarkeās room in the tower is directly under the throne room. Which means that in Season 3 Episode 3, Clarke may have witnessed the Azgeda Ambassador fall past her window after Lexa pushed him off the tower. After Clarke and Lexaās confrontation, Clarke returns to her roomās window. If we assume Lexa went directly up to her throne room after said confrontation, then Clarke seeing a falling body is a distinct possibility. Who knows, she may even have heard the confrontation in the throne room!
Here is a shot of Lexa standing on the balcony outside of the throne room at the end of Season 3 Episode 2. Note the shape of the balcony and the statues thatĀ āhold it upā.
Episode 3 starts with a scan up Polis Tower to Clarkeās bedroom. Just before it closes in on Clarke in the window, we see the top of the tower, including the Throne Room and balcony.
The camera closes in on our fearless Wanheda brooding while looking at the view. Note the statues on either side of the window.
How I wish they had filmed Clarkeās Reaction!Ā
Me: hmmm I guess I should watch last nightās SNL episode that I pvrād and get to bed before midnight tonight ...

Recently Updated Clexa Fanfics: HA!
She went to town so hard on Lexa that 'Trained Warrior' Lexa had to take a nap in the middle of the day. At this point it's canon that she is Sex Champion of the Apocalypse. no one is better than her lol
Can you believe she canonically fucked Lexa into a nap? Best bedtime story Lexa was ever told. Clarke Griffin, a legendary top.Ā
Be warned: Slight spoilers if you havenāt watched S04E12 āThe Chosenā yet
... I was surprised that Clarke didnāt say goodbye to Niylah in this episode. Worse, Clarke left Niylah in a room of scarred skaikru. Clarke didnāt even ask Abby to make sure that Niylah was in the lottery - like Emori asked to be. Wow! Clarke, what the hell. I know that people die after sleeping with you but donāt assume that is always the case. Yes, I know that Niylah is not Clarkeās soulmate but at least a, āthanks for the snuggles and being supportive even after I stole the bunkerā from Clarke before she headed off in a hazmat suit, would have been nice. Just sayinā
I saw a photo of Octavia in the Commander shield. I would love Octavia to become Heda but on one condition, she becomes a nightblood and takes the chip. Why, because I selfishly want Octavia to become aware of all the reasons why Lexa made certain decisions AND that Clarke argued with Lexa to save Octaviaās life. I love Octaviaās character but all characterās have their pros and cons. One aspect of Octaviaās character that I am not fond of is her harsh critiqueās of Clarke and Clarkeās decisions. Octavia being forced into a leadership role, that of the Commander of all 13 clans, would force her to see that leading all the people all the time is not that easy. But hey, I have no idea what happened in 4 x12. I just saw a ton load of tumblr notifications light up my tablet last night and accidentally saw the photo.
Clexa || Go Your Own Way
This video ... my heart! I keep on imagining Lexa and Clarke singing this together at Karaoke. Sheer genius, thank you @eternalhedalexa.
#thank you for this brilliant analysis #raven is the best
This is minute and not really well-thought out as Iām still trying to process some things that have happened in the last episode, but can we talk about how Raven does not only grow as a person the way she once told Sinclair she would, but actually comes to terms with Sinclairās death through that?
The thing with her line āYouāre always with meā and her deciding to choose life over pain is that it brings attention to one very particular emotional scene between them that took place way back in season 3 (3x03).
We all know that Ravenās need to hide her pain becomes very hard in the beginning, most notable when she tries to fight her physical disability by lying about it, but also visible through the emotional toll the traumatic experiences sheād been exposed to have taken on her by keeping a certain distance from the people she loves. It becomes clear that she canāt think of happiness or self-acceptance as a possibility at that time - driving herself to the point wherein she canāt even work anymore (which usually represented an escape for her).
When Sinclair breaks through Ravenās barrier and notices that she is a bundle of neuroses who purposely refuses Abbyās help (even though there is a way for her to get it with the medical equipment in Mount Weather) as she thinks she deserves the pain for all the things sheās failed to do and treats it as a sort of self-punishment for every person she couldnāt save while also believing that she is broken and therefore not fixable itās him who letās her know that she deserves more than any of this. That she is more than her pain and the losses.
I think I will never get over the motivation Sinclair brought out in Raven in this show, because this is something that he always made clear to her. That he always saw her awesomeness in a way no one else ever did, giving her the chances of a lifetime because he understood that sheās always been special - a little heart-murmur is nothing to him if it means that she can be who she wants to be. Heās come to represent the hand on her shoulder that grounds her, the one person who never once stopped believing that she is able to pull it off.
And while Raven wants to believe the things he says she doesnāt come to that understanding in 3x03 - not just because it is a process in itself, but because right after this conversation Raven fails to save more people - including a friend, Gina. So, diluted by that loss and fresh pain, Raven spirals deeper into darkness and isolation and becomes an easy target for none other than ALIE.
She takes the chip after convincing herself that sheās got nothing to lose and gets rid of everything, stripping her body and mind from who she actually is.
The fact that, for a while, Raven seems to be okay with what the chip does to her doesnāt escape anyone, even when we, as the audience, know that ALIE isnāt to be trusted since we know what her ākeyā does to people. She finds the solace in it that she hadnāt been experiencing for a long time, so she letās that feeling wash over her and affect her to the point that she forgets about things - not just her pain, but also the things and people she loves (e.g Finn).
When Raven gets rid of the chip the first thing she experiences is death again. And itās not just a simple death, but itās her witnessing Sinclair dying on the ground, a fight she faces and canāt overcome, because she canāt save him.
While many people have made clear that Raven doesnāt let Sinclairās death distract her from saving the world, working day in and out (Monty says that she hasnāt been sleeping for days - the circle under her eyes certainly tell the story) trying to find a way to defeat ALIE with her friends, there is a part in her that refuses to accept it. The difference this time is that the ALIE-upgrade - that she isnāt aware of in season 3 - and being able to focus on work/a fight give her the opportunity to not think about it (something she didnāt have before she took the chip), but the loss doesnāt go by her. Instead it hits her straight in the heart.
The first time we come to that realization is in 4x02, when she mentions Sinclair while she believes that she canāt run the repair of the ship alone, not able to place any trust in her skill-set as the awesome Raven Reyes she is:
And In 4x11, when she literally manifests him during another seizure, seeing her heart fight the remains of ALIEās code in her brain for the first (and last) time:
The thing with 4x11 is that Raven does all the things she thought she couldnāt do before. For example, to win the fight against the brain damage (ALIEās upgrade that Jasper first noticed about Raven way back in 4x01) - especially alone. Or the fact that she can and should place trust in herself and her talent, because she does not only come to realize that she, in fact, can save herself from dying in Beccaās lab or somewhere up in space, but also that she can be who she has always been at her core - the Raven Reyes who doesnāt quit, but keeps fighting. Live for herself without punishing her being with pain or the losses of the people she lovesĀ āI donāt choose pain. I choose lifeā.
And when she says āYouāre always with meā she, for the first time, genuinely accept the loss of someone without blaming herself - Sinclairās death. For the first time she does not distract her mind or delves into pain or isolates herself in yet another room only to end up looking out of the window because she hates being alone, but she focuses on getting to her hearts true desire, to drive her body forward so that she can come out of this situation un-dead, to reach out to her friends through the radio and say āThis is Raven Reyes, and I am aliveā.
I said it before, but I will say it again. Ravenās story line this season has catapulted my love for her into a whole new sphere and the character growth (especially the emotional progression) is off the fucking charts.
Yes, Raven couldnāt save Sinclair back in Arkadia, there was just no chance, but there is no blame either. Instead, she tells him that he has been and will always be with her, because at her heart she never forgets.
catching song, great vid
