Although they only focus on the protagonists of this saga (all Briefs Family and Mirai Trunks) the family Son does not appear, except for Goku, but at least their names if they appear in this blue car…

When you’re reading the Dragon Ball manga, anime filler isn’t canon.
When you’re watching the Dragon Ball anime, anime filler is canon.
It’s literally that simple.
Anime filler, aside from occasionally coming directly from rough ideas of Toriyama’s (like a certain sequel series people wanna call canon, HMMM), was written by and approved by the same crew of writers who adapted the manga into an anime.
Two very different mediums requiring different storytelling techniques.
When you’re watching the Lord of the Rings films, Aragorn getting Andruil in Return of the King is still canon, even if when you’re reading the books, he has it the whole time.

Doesn’t matter if you like it, dislike it, support it, or disagree with it. And it certainly doesn’t matter what some cheap, cash in spin off, produced two decades later, with almost none of the original staff, has to say about it.
Even His Most Holiest Toriyama-Sama doesn’t have a say in it. The anime was produced by literally dozens of men and women with equal talent to the original author’s, and this constant cherry picking of their work is a garbage way to watch their collective masterpiece.

This is from a DVD booklet that shows how Gochi won what was apparently a best couple competition.
Note the blurb on the lower right. Now, this picture wasn’t cropped properly so the text isn’t complete, but here’s what I got
GOKU AND CHICHI Lovey-dovey factor: 3 hearts Romance factor: 1 heart Wife’s capability (?? the second character is totally unreadable): at least 4 hearts
They certainly takes first prize! For Goku, the mightiest Saiyan in the universe, is dominated by his wife. But rather than because he is subservient to Chichi, it’s because he trusts her. And this trust is the greatest form of bond that couples can possess. [shameless plug] I already posted this on the Gochi Discord, so please please join us!!
