I mean yeah we all know that Neil is a good liar and all, but I think sometimes we forget to what extent.

Like he got literally plucked from class one day and put in front of his father’s boss, totally unprepared, and put on an oscar-winning performance of a lifetime. Bitch was like “I am not saying your brother is out of line my lord 😔😔😔 I am afraid of what will fall back on you 🤔🫢 🤧” and fucking manage to convince ichirou to kill his own brother.

there is no character who is more main character than kevin day. he literally drives the entire plot

neil wouldn't even be a fox if kevin didn't convince wymack they needed him, and then he also trained him every night even when he knew neil was destined for DEATH bc he was the BUTCHER'S SON!!!!! kevin knew andrew had worth and without that belief fuck knows where andrew and aaron and nicky would be!! jeremy wouldnt have accepted jean on the team if kevin didnt ask him to - hell, jean wouldn't even be fucking alive!!! edgar allan fucking switched districts BECAUSE OF KEVIN.

Only one overlay left to go! Though I must admit I think this is one of my favourites, especially with Andrew in the front row!

I genuinely love Neil's "I'm fine" bit so much because in his fucked up mind, he actually is fine. To him, a broken nose or smth is miles better than having to jump out of a moving car because the alternative is getting killed. And it takes so long for him to realise that even the Foxes don't have that kind of filter.

Happy birthday to the twinyards! At 38 they:

Have known about each other for 25 years, or 65% of their lives

Have been living as brothers for 22 years, or 58% of their lives

Have stuck together without a deal for 18 years, or 47% of their lives

Have learned to be brothers even when living apart for 15 years, or 39% of their lives.

Their time together surpasses the ones with their abusers, they know more life with each other than without and every year they see the good years growing bigger than the bad ones.

They've been brothers for most of their lives now and that means so much when there was a chance they would never get to be brothers at all.

Something I've never seen pointed out in the aftg fandom is a certain aspec of the scene where Neil and Andrew are sleeping together in the cabin and Renee knocks on the door. We talk about how great it is that Neil reaches for a gun and hits Andrew's arm instead - something that will still protect him.

But can we appreciate that Andrew was asleep? Andrew who we see sleeping through a lot of different things from team meetings to bus rides, but will wake up violently when he's touched. When Renee knocks, its described as a tap of her nails. I don't see that actually waking Andrew, but Neil touching his arm in a desperate search for a gun? That would wake him up, but Andrew doesn't lash out at Neil. He just looks at him before getting out of bed.

Now, Andrew could have already been awake and Neil didn't know it or maybe a tap of nails did wake him, but I think Andrew was asleep. I think even then Andrew trusted Neil more than anyone knew. I think he kept reminding himself about Neil's presence before falling asleep (to the point he put his arm under Neil's pillow) so he wouldn't react violently when Neil inevitably shifted and touched him in his sleep. I think he used Neil's head on his arm as a grounding technique because he didn't want to risk hurting Neil when he was already so injured and he just likes being close to him. And I think this moment speaks volumes to Andrew's healing and just how much he loves his feral boyfriend.

one of my fave parts abt aftg is how realistic it is. like they're all college kids, 18-20 ish. they're just teenagers. like yeah obviously neil is going to retaliate on live television without thinking about the repercussions. obviously they're going to rely on their most violent friend for protection from the mafia even though he's just a 20 year old bipolar kid with a heavy ass racquet. obviously the trojans are going to have a cardboard cutout of a dog with a stupid name that they treat like a real pet. obviously they're going to take tourist photos when they go pick up the random dude from arizona that's going to change their lives forever. god i love them. god

misplaced forever partners will always be the most painful part of neil and jean's dynamic to me. like What do you mean they were always going to be together, be matched with each other, in every way that mattered, in every universe except the one where jean survived.
