I wanted to make something for Xie Lian's birthday but couldn't figure out what. Then I read the newest update of "At Night I Rose And Fell" by PaidSubFics at like 4:30am of July 16th and this image got branded into my brain.

ABCDMXTX - Day 18: Ruoye.

From all spiritual devices, Ruoye is the one that feels the most like an extension of its owner. In a way, it's Xie Lian main and last line of defense.

Dinghai Love Week 2023 Day 2: Side character / Death.

Xie An, the man, the legend, who I didn't expect to like but here we are. I based his design on his first description on the novel. Also, spoilers without context, I guess.

It took over ten days for Xie Lian and Hua Cheng to walk from the inn where they met with the emperor to the entrance of Mount Tonglu. What happened during that journey? And most importantly, what would've happened if things had gone differently during that journey?

Expect folk stories told by Hua Cheng worshippers, Xie Lian figuring out stuff he could've realised one hundred chapters ago, and a Ghost King simultaneously hating on his child-like appearance and getting the best out of it.

Cuando, luego de leer las tres novelas de MXTX, decidí explorar los fanfics dedicados a cada historia, dejé a SAVE para el final. Lo que me hizo retrasarlo fue la reticencia a leer algo en ese universo que no tuviera la comedia emocional y a veces trágica tan característica de la novela, la cual me parece su más grande acierto y lo que la hace una lectura tan particular y disfrutable. Es posible que jamás hubiese dado el paso si no fuera porque ‘open my lungs to let you in’ me apareció un día en Twitter y el resumen, expuesto en una captura de pantalla, me hizo soltar la carcajada. Ghost escribe con sensibilidad e ingenio, su caracterización es fresca, hilarante y capaz de alcanzar ese precario nivel de parodia absurda que hace reír y llorar, y de hacerme volver para releer una y otra vez. Finalmente, decidí pedir permiso para traducir el fic y ahora lo dejo aquí, en español de aires colombianos, con la esperanza de que nuevos públicos puedan acceder a esta expansión creativa del mundo de SAVE.

Drawing in the style of the 1989 animated series was a delight~

I love, love, LOVE it when I can tell a fic author has integrated their specialized knowledge in a fic. I was reading a fic that at some point included the character going to visit an art therapist, and it's so clear that the author is an art therapist themself, and the details included are just immaculate and I love it. I've previously read about a character doing fencing for no other reason than the author clearly wanting to write a sport they understood. A character being given a hyperfixation on bugs just so the author can infodump themselves.

I eat it up every time, it brings such a smile to my face

ABCDMXTX - Day 5: E-Ming.

I made a reference to this image in my fic Let me see you (how I want to be seen), which is basically 9k words of tooth-rotting E-Ming loving hours fluff and Xie Lian dancing, lol.
