Dawn: Ezra Ezra? Atlas: Yep. Dawn: He’s the last person I’d ever expect to leave. Did the town burn down or something? Atlas: [laughs] I don’t think so. Dawn: Wow. Good for him, I guess? Atlas: [shrugs] Dawn: How are you doing? It can’t be easy. Atlas: I’m fine.
Dawn: That bad, huh? Atlas: I said, I’m fine. Dawn: You only say you’re fine when things are really bad. Atlas: I say I’m fine when I don’t want to talk about it. Let’s not ruin a perfectly good day. Dawn: Okay. Dropping it. Atlas: Thank you. So, what’s new with you?
Dawn: Aspen finally started pre-school last week. Atlas: How’s that going? Dawn: Really well. I was able to get her into the same one as Mei. Having a friend there has really helped. She’s actually excited when I drop her off. Rude if you ask me. She could at least try to act sad when I leave. Atlas: Aw. I’m sure she’s just putting on a brave face, for your sake. Dawn: [laughs] That must be it.
Dawn: It’s good though. Now that she’s out of the house for most of the day, I’ve decided to go back to work. Atlas: Oh yeah? What are you going to do? Dawn: I’m going back to the Dreamer Foundation. Obviously, my old position wasn’t available, so I’ll just be doing, like, part-time administrative work. I don’t mind though. It’s low-stress and gets me out of the house. Eventually, I can work my way back up again. Atlas: That’s great. I’m happy for you.
Asher: I’m done. Your turn. Atlas: Are you tapping out already? Asher: Yep. I’m gonna throw my back out at this rate. Dawn: You know you don’t have to toss her around like that constantly. Asher: I know, but it makes her laugh and I’m a sucker for it.
Li: Are you sure you’re ready to have two little gremlins? Atlas: You mean aside from not having a house or a stable income yet? Li: Of course. Asher: We’ve never been more ready for anything. Cook ‘em faster, will ya? Atlas: Or not. We do actually need a house and a stable income. Asher: Yeah yeah.
Dawn: It’s getting late. We should get going. D’you want to come over for dinner before you head back? Atlas: No thanks. Kinda feel like relaxing here for a bit, maybe watching the sunset. Asher: Such a romantic. Atlas: [laughs] Oh yeah, that’s me. Dawn: Well, enjoy it. Let me know when you get home safe. Atlas: I will.

Ezra: What do we do? Iris: I should probably take a test. Ezra: Right, um, I’ll get dressed and we can go pick one up. Iris: Okay. Ezra: Do you have any idea what you want to do? If it’s positive, I mean.
Iris: I can go to the clinic. It’s early enough, I’m sure we have options. Ezra: [nods] Is that what you want? Iris: That’s the sensible thing, right? I mean, we’ve only been dating for a few months. Do we really want to jump into raising a child together?
Ezra: What if we did? Would that be the worst thing? Iris: I don’t know. Are you just saying that because you’re against abortions or something? Ezra: No. If that’s what you want to do, then you have my full support. I will be by your side the whole time. But, if that’s not what you want, then I support that too. And I will be by your side the whole time.
Iris: Maybe I should take a test first, and then we can talk about this when it feels less… hypothetical. Ezra: Sure. We can do that.
Ezra: Well? Iris: [nods] I’m pregnant. Ezra: Wow. Okay. How are you feeling?
Iris: Are you still on board with keeping it? This is your chance to change your mind. Ezra: If you want to keep it, then yes, I’m 100% on board. Iris: You’re sure?
Ezra: The timing is not ideal, I admit, there’s still a lot we don’t know about each other yet. But there are three things I do know: I know we both want kids; I know you’re already an amazing mom; and I know that I love you. So, yes, I’m sure.

So why did I choose this sim of mine for the challenge? Because it’s the perfect setting to bring him a little closer to you ...
so it’s time for Kay to finally take up the space he’s long deserved. I’ve introduced him here before (Kay Withers), with words that tried to express what he means to me. But considering the weight he holds in my world - how deeply he’s woven into everything - it’s been far too quiet around him. That’s about to change. This post shows him in his favorite everyday outfit, with his guitar - he lives for music - and at one of his favorite places: the fireplace near the old ruins in Windenburg.
Kay is my soul echo. The part of me that exists beyond all the noise out there. He's no reflection, no shadow, but just the steady pulse of my inner calm. He’s not a self-sim, but he is my truth, my voice.
He’s loud where I’m quiet. Brave where I stay cautious. He lives the kind of freedom I often only feel inside.
He’s been part of my stories for a long time, but now I want him to be seen in all his facets.
With this post, I’m joining a challenge that instantly inspired me, by @honeysylvan 🫶 AU April, a journey through alternate universes. And I’m genuinely happy that Kay will be part of it, because this is exactly his thing: colorful, diverse, creative - even if, as usual, I’m showing up a bit late.
Maybe, through these fragments, you’ll come to see him the way I do.

Asher: You’re in bed early. You okay? Atlas: I’m fine. Asher: Are you still angry? Atlas: [shrugs] Asher: Do you want to talk about it?
Atlas: [sighs] I just don’t understand why Ezra was involved in conversations about our babies. I don’t want him brainstorming names or anything else. It’s none of his business. Asher: I know. I promise, I tried to change the subject, but Spencer was so excited, and I think he was just trying to connect with her.
Asher: That reminds me, though; can I tell you an idea I have for a name? It’s not on her list yet, I checked. Atlas: Sure. What is it? Asher: Do you remember that graphic novel I made? Atlas: Of course. It took two years before you finally let me read it.
Asher: Yeah, well, it feels really vulnerable, like letting you read my journal or something. Lex is the only other person that’s read it, and that’s only because she was there through it all. Atlas: Well, I feel honored that you trusted me with it. Asher: [chuckles] You should. Atlas: So, what does this have to do with your name suggestion?
Asher: Do you remember The Boy’s name? Atlas: Um, hold on, let me think. You don’t mention it til the end. Asher: Right. Atlas: Don’t tell me. Asher: I will be offended if you don’t get it right. But no pressure.
Atlas: SIMON! His name is Simon. Asher: [smiles wide and nods] What do you think?
Atlas: Sadie and Simon. I love it. Asher: Feels right, doesn’t it? Atlas: It does. Asher: I can’t wait for them to get here.
Atlas: Me neither. You’re gonna be the best dad. Asher: So are you. I love you so much. Atlas: I love you too.
Asher: Does this mean you’re not mad at me anymore? Atlas: I’m not mad at you; I just need to know you’re on my side. Asher: Always. For the record, I did try to give him the cold shoulder, but he’s surprisingly friendly. Atlas: I’m sure he was on his best behavior. Trying to impress the family or whatever. He’s so fucking manipulative. Seriously. He’ll turn you against me the first chance he gets. Asher: Let him try. It’s not possible. Atlas: How can you be so sure?
Asher: I’m sure because I know you far better than he does. I know your heart. And I know your mind. [smirking] And I know your body. I love you. Every part of you. Inside and out. And there’s nothing he can say or do that will ever change that.

Asher: I know, I’m sorry. I’ve been so busy. But we’re getting close. I’ll have more time again soon. Lex: I hope so. When are you moving back to the city? Asher: …
Lex: Ash? When are you moving back to the city? Asher: [nervous] We’re not. Lex: You’re staying in the Bay? I should’ve known.
Asher: No, we’re not staying there. We’ve been looking at San Sequoia. Lex: You can’t be serious. Asher: I know, I was unsure at first, but the more I look at it… I don’t know, I just see it. Lex: See what? Asher: Me and Atlas, settling down and raising our kids and building a life there.
Asher: Where are you going?
Lex: [sniffles] Asher: Lex?
Asher: Hey. Talk to me. Lex: This is it, isn’t it? The end of our friendship. Asher: No, of course not. Why would you say that? Lex: ... Asher: Come on, let’s go sit down.
Lex: Let’s not pretend things aren’t changing. I mean, you live an hour and a half away and we haven’t seen each other since March. And your kids aren’t even born yet! If you think you don’t have time now, just wait.
Asher: That doesn’t mean our friendship is over. We just have to be more intentional about calling each other and staying in touch. And I’ll let you know any time I’m in town. And you can come visit us whenever you want. No matter how much time goes by, we’ll always be friends.
Lex: I suppose. Still, it feels like the end of an era. You’ve been by my side forever. Hell, you were there when I got my braces off. Asher: It’s true. You were there when I adopted Jasper. Lex: We got drunk for the first time together. Asher: [laughs] And high.
Lex: You took me in when my parents kicked me out. Asher: You held my hand while I came out to mine. Lex: You put up with me when I fell in love for the first time. Asher: You put up with me when I got my heart broken for the first time.
Lex: Can I tell you a secret about that? Asher: What? Lex: I was the one who threw a brick through the window at Elias’ studio. Asher: Can I tell you a secret? Lex: What?

A little update about my Save File
As it's been a while since I posted some shots of buildings I've made, here are some of the lots I built since Businesses and Hobbies release 🤗
I've nearly finished what I had in mind in terms of new lots, and now, my goal is to review every previous Sim and build I've made to make everything good enough to be able to release a first version of my save file. It will include a limited selection of worlds done (Henford, Tartosa, Copperdale, Sulani, Nordhaven, Del Sol Valley, Forgotten Hollow...) but a lot of builds, Sims, and lore.
I'm hoping to wrap everything up in the following weeks so stay tuned!

Iris: What? I get bored. Ezra: Is that why you told me to put this in my pocket? Spencer: Hey! Give that back! Iris: [laughs] I did not tell him to do that! Asher: Y'know what? You two deserve each other.
Spencer: Can you bring Milo next time you come over? Ezra: Sure. If no one minds? Megan: Not at all. We’re all dog people in this house.
Asher: What kind of dog is he? Ezra: He’s an Airedale. Asher: Very cool. Those are great dogs, super smart. Ezra: Too smart [laughs] and so much energy. He’ll play fetch for hours.
Asher: Tell me about it. I used to have a border collie. Have you worked with training him much? Ezra: I’ve tried, but I don’t really know what I’m doing. He’s actually my first dog. Asher: I can help you. When you bring him over, I’ll show you a few tricks. Ezra: Yeah, that’d be great.
Spencer: ATLAS!! Atlas: Hey bear.
Spencer: We’re almost done with my new puzzle, do you wanna see? Atlas: Not right now. I’m just grabbing some food and then getting back to work. Spencer: [disappointed] Awh.
Atlas: Leave it out so I can see tomorrow. And I can help you frame it and put it up on your wall if you want. Spencer: Okay. Guess what! Atlas: What? Spencer: I’ve been making a list of ‘S’ names! It’s getting really long. I didn’t know there were so many. Ezra knows lotsa good ‘S’ names too!
Atlas: Does he now? Spencer: Yep! Wanna see? Atlas: We’ll go through them tomorrow. But look, it’s important to give people credit for their ideas, so do me a favor and make sure you put Ezra’s name next to each of his suggestions. Spencer: I will!
