So heres a thing i'm working on LMAO. This is a mask for a Pure Vessel cosplay, on and off the mannequin. It's for 3d printing, and it's printed in three sections because it's huge :)

Don't worry about if any parts look strange this was like a novice fistfighting blender, I'll sand it all out its okay its fine

Grade 12 art project where I really just wanted to make a bacteriophage CAD model because I'm obsessed.

I fully printed and assembled this doll, but it broke. I need to figure out a way to 3D print the part body without the supports being mega annoying (or alter the CAD model/split it into multiple pieces). I'll do that someday and then 3D print this guy again.

Originally I wanted to manually create/CAD/sculpt my own articulated finger extensions, but I had the self awareness to figure out that that was beyond my skill level. Also there's so many CAD models of these online it was a bit too easy. I still want to make my own version of these someday, but 2021 was not the time 💀

OH yeah even before that I didn't just want to make finger extensions, I wanted to make a wooden arm and hand that hand moveable fingers. Inspired by smth similar I saw on yt. I think I was deterred from this option because of how difficult it would've been to carve the wood.

I got the CAD models for free on thingyverse ❤️. At first I tried 3D printing these on my 3D printer, but I didn't know how to adjust the settings to have a print actually work (pieces would always peel up from the build plate) so I eventually outsourced it to my auto teacher lmao.

Assembling these was a trip, but we made it through >:) 💪

Didn't end up ever painting these guys, so they just existed as uglies.

i love sculpting weird heads, and this one started with the head shape, inspired by some ffxiv gear i was using on my character. i've also been wanting to make a doll with four arms for a while now. the most fun thing about this one is that because of the articulated crab claws, they can hold things.

[i'm still figuring out how to shoot on manual -> photos came out a little grainy this time. but i'll be a photographer yet.]

NASA has emailed a wrench to astronauts in space

Responding to International Space Station (ISS) astronauts’ need for a wrench, NASA solved the problem by emailing a digital file to the ISS. The astronauts then 3D-printed the tool.

In a post on Backchannel, Mike Chen, founder of Made In Space, explained how the process worked.Made in Space is a Silicon Valley startup that built the 3D printer that was shipped to the ISS in September. In November, the first-ever 3D-printed part was, yes, made in space.

“My colleagues and I just 3D-printed a ratcheting socket wrench on the International Space Station by typing some commands on our computer in California,” Chen wrote in his post. “We had overheard ISS Commander Barry Wilmore … mention over the radio that he needed one, so we designed one in CAD and sent it up to him faster than a rocket ever could have. This is the first time we’ve ever ‘emailed’ hardware to space.”

Now, Carnegie Mellon engineers reported on Friday that they had successfully printed simplified proof-of-concept anatomical structures like mini femurs, blood vessels and brains suspended in soft gelatin. Learn more and see a video below.

Crash Bandicoot 3D Printed TNT Crate, Nitro Crate, and Wumpa Fruit Necklace Series

Inspired by a childhood favorite of mine and its recent remaster, Ive created three Crash Bandicoot themed necklaces! The necklaces in this series include the TNT Crate, the Nitro Crate, and Crashs favorite Wumpa Fruit. The charms are 3D printed using PLA plastic filament. Each piece is individually hand painted by myself using acrylic paints. Charms are attached with a silver-plated necklace chain with a ring clasp for easy adjustment. Necklaces are available individually, but you can also purchase them in pairs or the whole set for a discounted price. Please note that neither I nor my shop is affiliated with the Crash Bandicoot brand or any development company associated with it.

So this has been something I’ve been putting together for awhile now. 

I’ve loved the Crash Bandicoot game series since I was a little kid, and still play them to this day. I wanted to commemorate the recent release of the “N Sane Trilogy” with something special. So, I’ve released a new Crash Bandicoot themed necklace series to my shop. 

The series includes three necklaces: the TNT Crate, the Nitro Crate and the Wumpa Fruit (I may be adding more in the future). The charms are 3D printed (as usual XD) and hand painted with acrylic paints.

3D Printed Animal Crossing Leaf Necklace

What started as a quick commission for a friend of mine turned into a really cool finished product. So, Ive decided to share this with you guys! This is another 3D printed design I put together: an Animal Crossing themed necklace. The charm itself is made from PLA clear green plastic filament and measures about 1.25x1.25. The silver-plated chain has a circular clasp for attachment.

3D Printed Fidget Gear Bracelet

This is a spinoff of the 3D printed fidget gear necklace I released a couple of days ago. Its the same 3D print as the necklace, so it also features the ability to play with and move around the gears! This bracelet is ideal for someone that wants something to fidget with discreetly to help them focus. I personally use it myself; I find it very relaxing. The bracelet is one size fits most. It uses a sliding knot to allow the user to easily put it on and take it off (plus its also fun to fidget with, as Ive done with bracelets similar to this one!). The charm measures 1.25x1. The gears are attached with a printed axle with stoppers at either end, allowing them to spin freely.

Hey! Since it looks like a lot of people seemed interested in the 3D printed Fidget Gear necklace I made a couple days ago, I decided to also make it available as a bracelet!

Again, I find it extremely helpful, like many people, to have something that I can fidget with to keep focused, so a bracelet or necklace like this could help out a lot of people!

3D Printed Fidget Gear Necklace

This 3D Printed gear necklace features movable parts! I love looking at the different types of little charms and toys that give someone that has trouble focusing something to help them out. This necklace is ideal for someone that wants something to fidget with but wants to be discreet. It can really help out if youre sitting at a desk working and need something to keep your mind occupied. It also just works for anyone thats into playing with little toys like gears. The charm itself has two gears on it and an axle that runs through them with stoppers on either end. It measures 1.25 x 1. The necklace measures 20 long and features a ring clasp for attachment.

And here’s the third! I took some inspiration from those fidget cubes that people are starting to love, and made my own version in a necklace. The necklace on the surface is two gears connected via axle, with stoppers on the ends. The axle lets you turn the gears around and play with them! 

The printing itself took about ten tries, experimenting with different sized axles, stoppers, and gears, before I finally came up with the final product.

This necklace is great for someone like myself that often finds themselves fidgeting with random things to keep focused, but wants to do it a bit more discreetly. I find that I tend to play with my necklaces anyways, so this seemed like a good thing to make.

I decided to try something new with the UFO keychain I made a little while ago. I shrunk down the original file and made a necklace out of it, so that you could have that option if you wanted to wear it instead! So heres a 3D printed UFO necklace! The charm is an inch in diameter. The chain is 20 long and has a ring clasp to attach it.

Hey! So here’s item number two of the day! This is a revamp of the UFO keychain I made awhile back. I shrunk the file size down to about an inch in diameter so that I could make it into a necklace! Pretty nerdy charm, but I still love it!

3D Printed Napstablook Keychain

This is another 3D printed keychain I made for my Undertale fanmade series! This was actually first made at the request of a friend of mine, who wanted to have her own Blooky keychain, so I figured Id share it with you guys too! Like the others, this one is 3D printed and hand painted. The keychain is made with a black fabric cord and has clasps attached at the ends to make it easy to attach and remove it. The piece itself is about 2x1.5.
