Katakuri appreciation post. No reason for it, I just thought of him and how amazingly edible he is and I thought he deserved some appreciation for being so versatile :)

2 Things I Appreciate about Princess TuTu

1. It's Respect towards Ballet

Barring that first episode,  the main focus of the ballet is not as a gimmick.

Dance is an art form and a style of communication. As my theatre teacher once said, "When words aren't enough, you sing. When singing isn't enough, you dance. And when dancing isn't enough, you sing and dance together."   

Throughout the show, the "fight scenes" are a "war" of ideas, and ballet is used as a conduit and punctuation for said ideas. 

The ballet is used for expression, and while magical elements do occur (for example, Tutu dancing on top of water, or practically flying, or growing plants instantaneously. (which isn't totally uncalled for given that it's taking place inside a story)) the ballet puts the characters thoughts, feelings, and beliefs center stage.

2. The Character Development

Okay, confession time.

When I was first watching Princess Tutu, THIS guy made me really upset. I stuck around for a few episodes because I wanted to see Duck and Mytho end up together, but THIS GUY. EUUUGH......

I didn't hate him (To quote Swoozie, "My gang would never let me be a hater"), but I did dislike him to an extreme degree. Like, I loathed him. So I just quit watching the show and decided that I would look at some fanart to satisfy my desire for Mytho/Duck cuteness, except.......

All y'alls just had Fakir/Duck drawings everywhere,  and to be honest, I thought you guys were crazy. 

So I just swore off Princess Tutu, until one day I decided to give it another go.

And let me tell you....

I was not disappointed.

All four of the main characters grow in some way or another. THAT guy pictured above, went from being my most disliked fictional character to my most favorite fictional character. 

The Heroine grows

The Villain-ess grows

The Jerk grows

The Prince grows

And all in ways that, to me, felt very satisfying and natural. I may be remembering this show through rose tinted glasses, but these characters were very human.

Even if one of them was technically a duck.

Appreciation post for my friend!

I used to have a problem with asking people bout their day after they ask me bout mine. Not out of rudeness I’m just a very forgetful and tired person.

So whenever I forgot he would just be like “well my day was great” and after time when someone would ask about my day I would just think of him doing that so I now instinctively respond with “what about you” or some shit like that.

Anyways I feel he needs to be appreciated for so thx for bullying manners into me bro love ya.

Shoutout to Leia Organa for showing almost no fear when facing down Vader and Tarkin at age 19, but screaming bloody murder when she sees a suction dinosaur-space rat (aka a mynock) through a space-proof window at age 21.

Shout out to Leia who in the EU, specifically studied history and art to screw with the Empire because those were subjects being actively suppressed. (This is why I headcannon Leia as an artist btw). Imagine being this petty. Iconic.

I just wanted to touch on these two lesser-discussed aspects of Leia. Honestly, what an icon.

True Beauty (minor tdp S2 spoilers)

Can we please appreciate how beautiful all the characters in the Dragon Prince are? Beverly you seen, not only how beautiful they are designed but also the gestures and voices and ugh. Why is everything in this show so beautiful. The women are strong and wonderful. Sarai has exactly the taste of dry Humor that I like and the whole scene where Sarai and Harrow fight and the guards exchange money? SO BEAUTIFUL! Don't even get me started on Amaya and the Sunfire elves. The fighting scenes are so fluid and exciting! Gren is always the optimist and looks quite handsome with a beard if I might say that. I love love LOVE Rayla to death with her sarkasm and basically everything she does. Ezran is so cute especially with Zym ("little doggo dragon"-quote my brother) and Callums inner struggle and how Sarai helped him was so enchanting (is that how the word is used or should I say absorbing?) Claudia is still my girl and I hope Soren gets better soon because we can't live without oblivious boy. Corvus is GREAT, like, how he doesn't even care that Rayla is an elf and just wants to serve his new king, it's so... Ugh I'm so overwhelmed and excited and Help. Also, don't even get me started on Aaravos, he's just so handsome and I don't really care if he's supposed to be the villian because have you heard his voice??? I freaked out when they talked about the two queens because LGBTQ+ representation!!!! And its so well done too. Everything this show does is so great and if it is creating handsome characters, representation of all sorts, may it be lgbt, different people of colour or awesome folks with disabilities, I just want everyone in this fandom to stay as positive and wonderful as we can be and appreciate not only this show but each other and the people around us. (This post doesn't nearly capture everything that's great about the Dragon Prince and I apologize for any spelling errors.)

on Neighbors

I'm walking home from a neighbor's house, the one that is friends with my mom, the one that coached me with public speaking and got me to nationals as a kid, the one that surprised me with a scholarship when I graduated high school. It's a slightly chill evening and it's beautiful.

(We had been talking about my resumé and how I could improve it. We workshopped both that and my portfolio, and discussed possibilities of studies abroad, and swapped stories on things we missed from each other's lives now that I live hundreds of miles away.)

Now I'm walking home in the chill blue evening and I walk past my neighbor's house, the one with the chihuahuas, the one that over a decade ago rescued me when I got my pants caught in my bike chain and fell, trapped. Never met me in my life but when I fell in front of her house she came running out to help my small crying self.

And now I'm walking past my neighbor's house, the pale blue one on the corner, the neighbor that had a tire swing even though she was elderly, the place my family would go on walks to when I was a kid so the kids could play on her tire swing while the grownups talked. That tree died eventually, and my dad helped her cut it down. She gave him the tire swing to take home to us kids.

Over there across the way is my neighbor's house, the one that is good friends with my grandma and paid me to water her plants whenever she went away for a week. I see her husband from time to time out in the garage when I pass their place.

Over just a little bit farther is the orange house that looks like a castle, with the neighbors who had daughters just older than my sister and I, daughters who always gathered up their old clothing into giant bags to drop at our doorstep so my sister and I could have new clothing. A treasure. Their mom came to my graduation and got me a gift.

Now I'm walking down the road and there are the neighbors right next to us, with the small loud dogs, the neighbors that know my dad well. He always has my brothers over to do yard work and the such. Dad loves sending over the boys to collect leaves in the autumn from our neighbors - most of them are elderly and can use the help, and my dad collects truckfuls of leaves to compost for his garden. A win-win.

And there at the end, of course, are my neighbors who always loved to see us each Halloween. They were always prepared for us, always the first ones we saw. My youngest brother always took care of their dog. When our dog got out, that neighbor let us know and we were able to get her before she got too far away.

We were generations apart, my neighbors and I. Yet that never stopped them from loving my family and me.

I hope they know the fond love I have for them now, despite no longer living there.

Gifts, gifts and more gifts - ’cause we’re just before Christmas ☃

The time to search for gifts begins. I really want to give all my friends and a little gift for Christmas. I love giving gifts. I just like the excitement of choosing something nice or funny and someone and giving it to them as a present. I'm always so excited whether the person likes it or not and you just try to give them a feeling of appreciation with the gift and make them smile. When you give gifts you always show the appreciation you have for this person and that you have thought of them - for example that you have thought about what this person might like and then made the effort to find something convenient. Even if it's just a very, very small gift. It always means a lot to me when someone makes the effort to give me a little present and thinks about what I might like. For example, my pen friend recently gave me a small pendant with the pearls in the colors of the Hogwarts houses as a small pre-Christmas present. She wrote to me in the letter that I could attach it to my cell phone. I was so happy about it. My pen pal is a real artist and we're both really love the Harry Potter stories. We're both in the same Hogwarts house, too. We're two ambitious and cunning Slytherins.I could tell for hours why I feel so comfortable there, but I would probably never come to an end ;D Anyway, I think it's great that my pen pal has made something so beautiful for me with such fine craftsmanship. Above all, it also has this emotional value - that we both love these Harry Potter stories so much. We love to talk about it. I will definitely make something nice for her too. Something very special. I want you to be at least as happy as I was happy about your gift. Just like with my friends here. At the beginning of the weekend I will go to the Christmas market in town and look for little winter delicacies and christmassy things that I could buy. But I'm sure I also make something or paint. I already have so many ideas! Besides I would like to give my family something very special! Because they always try so hard to give me a nice present - and that's exactly what I want to do too for them. I will definitely do something nice for them. I like to do handicrafts. I am looking forward to christmas. The more I write about it, the more I get Christmas mood! However, the thoughts of my grandma still cloud me. I miss her so much. She would actually have been with me at Christmas. Because of this, I'll probably not get into the Christmas mood like i was in the last years. My thoughts are with her so often. How I would love to hug her. Ugh ......;<

Tonight im obsessed with how the mp100 cast are just.... the most mundane people ever. Like they have incredible destructive powers that can level cities, and they make weird ass decisions, and they get roped into cults and aliens and terrorist organisations, but at the end of the day... Reigen likes falling asleep to B-rated movies. Ritsu likes going clothes shopping with his brother. Teru finds summers boring. Tome feels understimulated and left out sometimes. Shou likes hamsters. Serizawa likes going out with his school friends. Mob likes watching the sky. They all get over their head at times, and they feel lonely, and they get silly, and they try to be kind.

They're just,,, normal, average people, and the fact that they are normal, average people often gets more emphasis than all the crazy, out of this world stuff that they can also do, and that's just... strangely endearing to me. The mundane gets treated with as much love and respect as the actiony stuff in this show, because there's worth to be found in simple, effortless humanity, and that feels... very kind to me. It's important I think <3

i love autumn so much! it’s the best season i feel my best in this weather. Like seriously it’s so warm and cozy even when it’s windy and chilly out. The whole season feels like a big hug. I’ve never been someone to celebrate halloween but this year i want to. i want to try my best to get outside, go on walks, hang out with my friends for once.

I want to feel the complete warmth of autumn it’s so sad how i always enjoy it alone at home; which isn’t always too bad i love watching shows/movies in the basement cuddled up in my blanket with hot chocolate or playing sims on a rainy day wearing my fuzzy hello kitty pajamas and drinking tea while i watch droplets on my window. it’s the BEST feeling. i love being alone and relaxed but i also love to go out and experience things, an adventure maybe; who cares.

i love being out with my friends—comfortable. Watching us in the moment as we laugh at the silliest things and walk around in our cute little coats pretending we’re the it girls of the town (which we are..as we should). i love seeing us excite over teenage girl things like a prom dress displayed at a window of a store at the mall or cute inanimate objects.

I just love to live in the moment i don’t always want to think of my future and worry about how i’m going to fend myself when i don’t have my parents to depend on ive decided i will deal with future things in the future (but it never hurts to have a plan). This is autumn i want to live it like it’s my last.

You four are the first people I consider my true friends, my best friends, and I love you all! I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, but you guys saved me. When I first entered the GAC fandom, I was very low mentally and suicidal and you guys saved me. We created a family between us and there is not enough things in this world I could give you four to tell you how much I love you guys, how much I care for you, and how much you guys have affected my life.

To @adriannagibson7, Adrianna, you are the Queen of Nick, honestly lol. I still remember when you messaged me about Nick and we fell down a mutual hole of adoration for that man. I can’t wait till Covid is gone and I have enough money and we can finally go on a Nick Groff Tour together! It will be so much fun to do that together and get to meet Nick (me for the first time and you again). You are an amazing person with incredible talent when it comes to writing, to video editing, and to picture edits.
