Saw this on Twitter and tbh, I can't detect any lies🤷🏾‍♂️
my 3 personalities
to all of you american girls or something
it's not a want, it's a NEED
Ultimately I feel as if Rachel is whoever and whatever you want and see her to be. She will mould and mend herself to be what you see her as, she is everything all at once yet nothing at all at the same time.
While I agree with what Samuel is saying and think it sums up the "Was Rachel a good or bad person" debate pretty well, it's insane (In the good: "I'll think about this for ages" way) for Rachel to be compared to a light.
Because she is a light. She's a fire that gets mistaken for the sun.
She's so bright and warm and brilliant that you assume she's the sun. You assume she's the beauty in dawn and the amber hues in dusk. You assume she's what everything revolves around and what makes the world go around. But that assumption is wrong, because Rachel is a raging fire.
She IS bright and warm and brilliant. She's beautiful and radiant and frightening and so hard to tear your eyes away from. She's the rage in a forest and the warmth in a hearth. She's a torch that lights a lost man's way and the match that burns out. She's the beauty of candle and the ugliness of gasoline and a lighter.
She is Rachel Amer. A light that casts shadow. A flame that is both warm and unforgiving.
"Don't be surprised if one day, Chloe, I'm just out of here..."
One important thing to remember: Rachel Amber is a teenager. She was a young girl who found another young girl who wanted to escape just like her. Things happen, and they chose to stay around. Frank offered her an escape from reality with drugs, which she took advantage of. Frank used his power over her as an older man with something she wanted to manipulate her into thinking that its her idea to be in a relationship with him. Important note: as much as it hurts me to say, the only relationship that there is solid canonical proof of for Rachel and Chloe is that they were the absolute best of friends. Chances are, Frank also convinced Rachel that she shouldn't tell Chloe about their relationship. He wouldn't want this because Chloe would probably get Rachel out of that power imbalanced, manipulative relationship. Now here comes Mark Jefferson, who we have much better proof of being a manipulative asshole/kidnapper. He gets Nathan, Rachel's best friend besides Chloe, under his thumb. He promises her escape in a way neither Chloe or Frank could ever offer her. His escape: she becomes the model for this famous man and gets to live her dream life after this fantastic boost to her career. It's the same situation that happens in Hollywood, older person with connections lures a young dreamer in, then ruins that young person. He got her to trust him, kidnapped her, Nathan accidentally kills her, then buries her in a shallow grave in a junkyard because that's all she meant to him. One pervy photoshoot and afterwards she's trash. Did she make mistakes? Yes. Most people her age do. But they get a chance to redeem themselves after. Rachel doesn't get that chance. She didn't get the chance to realize that these older men were abusing their power over her. She didn't get the chance to correct her manipulative behavior towards others that she learned from the ones manipulating her. She never got the chance to escape from the bay with Chloe. Fans of Rachel Amber see that she is a deeply flawed person who never got a chance to work on those flaws. They see her potential of what she could have been and never got to be. I hope this cleared it up for you, and if you have any further questions then feel free to ask. I'm clearly very passionate about this subject lol.
I really want to like Rachel Amber aifwjieafjsfj can someone convince me she isn’t just using Chloe to get out of Arcadia Bay after either cheating with her on Frank or just I guess eloping with Frank and sleeping with Jefferson who “changed her life” ?Â
