week 16 "the rivira, decades ago, brought an end to the elemental war, but things have been far from peaceful in the region.. the magic of fire was banned across the realm, the fendites and all fire aligned were forced to submit before rivira rule, in hopes of bringing peace to the region.. but many rebel groups rise up, resisting this control. those who resist the reign, or practice fire magic in secret, often being sent to camps for rehabilitation, and labor. tetsuka was one of many, who refused to give up the fire of her ancestors. she worked in these camps for years, made to break her spirit.. but she trained, and practiced her magic in secret, and after many seasons of planning, she escaped.. she now lives on the land, wanted across the region.. she helps other fire aligned escape, and has become something of a legend, among the rebels.. though the bounty offered for her recapture only grows" -the historian, 582sd hi hi! heres week 16! ouh.. this one took longer than id hoped.. 6 hours, surprisingly only 66 unique colors, 800x1000. id drawn this girl in my sketches, and she inspired me.. wanted to give her a full piece! well, anyways.. thank you for checking out my work! i hope you have a wonderful week c: ♡
week 11! "a fire aligned uprising has gathered at a castle of the guiding claws.. but the head councilman has sent their best, his top general.. nova chance. she is infamous for her ruthless efficiency. as a very powerful water bender, a demigod on her mother's side, she may be able to wash a small army away on her own, but it may only spark more uprisings, so she has her father's army stay back, and goes out to meet them alone. she holds a terrifying reputation, and all of the fire aligned know what she would do if they attacked now. she reasons with the uprising, and intimidates them.. she makes concessions, but not many. just enough to get them to back down and disperse.. she wont be so forgiving next time" aa, heres week 11! took about 4 hours, and has 140 unique color values. im sorry its not that great.. my head wasnt in the game ><. anyways, thank you for checking out my art! i hope you have a wonderful week ♡
Have you ever felt lost in the darkness, like you’re stumbling over rocks and sinking to unknown depths? In our darkest moments we need a light to show us the way. It doesn’t matter if the light is provided by someone else or if one finds their own light and rescues themself from the darkness.

The third photo from top is the Cave of the Crystals in the Naica mine. It's very hot and humid in there, so it's hard to go spelunking. But those same conditions are great for crystal formation!

DISAPPEARING UNDERGROUND
The idea that some ritual activities at caves involved people disappearing from view into darkness is powerful. In most cases only one individual or a small se- lect group could have entered caves at any one time. Thus the potentially public nature of early stages of some rituals, such as the entire community walking to a cave entrance, may have been juxtaposed by the secret activities that took place inside the cave involving just a few people. Witnessing this disappearance into darkness, and waiting for individuals to re-emerge, is likely to have been dramatic. The length of time spent inside a cave may have increased the feelings of anticipation, expectancy, anxiety, trepidation, fear or mystery experienced by those outside. People above ground were in the dark too. What was happening down there in the darkness? Who or what would be met in the cave? Why was the trip taking so long? Would s/he return? What would be the outcome?
These were religious and spiritual excursions into darkness that must have transformed those waiting outside but especially the person who had entered the cave. Such journeys may have conferred her/him with greater power, status, reverence or respect if caves were perceived as places of the Otherworld where it was possible to commune with the spirit world. Emerging from darkness and returning to the world of the living may have been seen as akin to a rebirth: emerging with new knowledge or insights, emerging as a new and transformed person.

These caves are oppressive and damp, the smell of death gets stronger the deeper you go in

Ohhh my gosh, thank you for your post about geologic events and tips on writing them! If you don't mind, can I ask you about cave systems? Some of the more commons types (mineral types and formations) vs some of the more spectacular/rare finds and the conditions for their formation?
Hello and thanks! Caves typically are formed out of limestone (a sedimentary rock). Limestone is a rock mostly made of calcite/ calcium carbonate that is formed in the ocean. Once the ocean level lowers or the land rises due to mountain building events, these rocks get exposed to the surface where rain (which is usually always a little bit acidic) will begin to react with the stone (Similar to your teeth and soda). Once this process begins it will make the caves we know and love.
There are a couple interesting things that can happen though! First, dissolving rocks means that the water is full of minerals, that means that while that water drips from the caves it will precipitate out those minerals creating stalactites and stalagmites on the ceilings and floors. This also means that they will be made out mostly pure calcite!
Another interesting thing is that because they were on the ocean floor, it means that there will be a lot of fossils present from an ancient ocean.
So, most times, the only things you will find in caves is calcite and fossils. However in some rare instances you can have salt caves, which are also sedimentary but would be associated with the drying of oceans (You would also be able to probably find gypsum in those caves as well).
Other rare and interesting caves could be formed from hydrothermal water (hot water generated from volcanic activities), this opens up a world of different things that *could* be present including metals being deposited in the stone (gold, silver, or copper). That said, this is just me inventing excuses for if you want it to be mineable.
Some natural disasters associated with cave systems being under the land would definitely be sinkholes! There can also be entire rivers that just disappear underground.
I truly hope this helps! If someone who knows more about caves sees this, please feel free to add comments!
