I've been thinking a lot about Constantine. The movie, not the show or comic, as I'm not really familiar with them.
Specifically, I keep thinking about the scene with him and Tilda Swindon, Gabriel, in the church near the start of the film. It's when the film first tells us that Constantine is doomed to go to Hell when he dies (since a large portion of this film is based on a misunderstanding of Catholic doctrine regarding suicide). They start talking about the necessity of faith, which Constantine argues he has. But Gabriel corrects him. Constantine doesn't have faith in God, he has knowledge of God, which are very different things.
And it makes me think of how a lot of evangelical Christians try to argue that there is proof that the Christian God exists. There are alleged miracles, people who have claimed to hear His voice, accounts of near death experiences. There's a whole subset of Christian fiction that involves atheists or people of other faiths literally meeting God and being told that Christianity is the way to go.
And this all just seems very antithetical to the entire point of having faith. If you believe in God due to perceived proof, that's not faith. It's knowledge - at least from their perspective.
I don't really know where I'm going with this. It's just been swirling around in my head for a while.

Constantine Adopts Danny AU
I've seen a bunch of Batfam adopting Danny (and I love every one!), but it's stated that Jack comes from a long line of ghost hunters. So, what if his cousin John visits, and:
His nephew is dead and living with ghost hunters
The lab and house in general is so dangerous, he's understandably worried about Jazmine
Outing Danny as dead would likely have terrible consequences, so he offers some internships. Come on Jack, it's a few months and Jazz can learn from the Black Canary! And Danny can learn from me for a while!
He gets summer break permission, starts working on adoption plans, and starts crying when he realizes he's pulling a Batman
Jazz graduates, stays with Constantine.
Constantine realizes Danny is HALF alive and talks to ghosts, cue 1980's bonding montage
Vlad shows up, runs tf away after Constantine is halfway through an exorcism
Constant custody arguments with Batman "you have like 500 kids! Leave mine alone!"

Danny has an unfairly large crush on Supes (space!), until he finds out Kon is his clone and how he treated him. After that? "Nah, you're MY clone now."

Dani shows up, Constantine is ready to throw hands at Batman AND Superman because that is HIS niece, Dani thinks of it as adopting Constantine.
There's some massive JL problem, Danny shows up to ask his uncle something. "Not now, Danny. I'm sorry, I'm working on summoning the Ghost King."

y'all will spend some time together simply drinking and/or smoking and ranting about all of life's problems. he's never one for cute-sy things; the closest you'll ever get out of this man for a "cute" date is a candle-lit dinner. he'd be the gentleman to offer to cook the food, but you know that he always prefers your cooking any day of the week and twice on sunday. and, let's be real — you're going to fuck at least once, if not twice, or three times. it all depends on the length of the storm and both of your stamina.

honestly, you're gonna be fucking for practically the entire day. in between trying to conceive a baby, and overall having lots of "energy", you will find yourselves laying under the sheets, with him buried deep inside of you and your legs dropped limply over either of his shoulders. you'd hardly be able to hear the rain over the sounds of your moans and every thrust that he pumped deeply inside of you.

he'll have a fresh blunt rolled for the two of you to smoke together until the storm passes. by the end of the storm, you're both too stoned to even think of going back to your home. so, he'll let you sleep in his arms while you sober up from the weed you've smoked. you'll wake up to him searching through the kitchen for a midnight snack during a case of the munchies, making you burst out laughing after initially thinking that he was a robber invading the home.

New Arcana Idea to play with. Constantine included.
Arcana returns, but she's significantly weaker than before. At first she is welcome back at Manus, however there is infighting and politics now spreading throughout the order. Without Arcana as the head, Manus fractured into different smaller factions who all have different theories on how to reach their goal.
Arcana wants to retake control of Manus but in her current state she is unable to reign them in. They decide they don't need her anymore. Some also feel like Arcana's sight of her real goal since she met the Timekeeper.
With nowhere else to go, she pops up in the Suitcase. She wants to strike an alliance to take down the current leaders of Manus and start over. Vertin has no intention of letting Arcana continue her reign of terror, but she begrudgingly sees use for Arcana.
So Arcana ends up in the Suitcase but like Isolde she is not allowed to leave freely.
The only person Constantine can't stand more than Vertin is Arcana. The two are always talking in circles around each other and playing mind games. Vertin is highly amused by this until she inevitably gets dragged into it as Constantine's proudest creation and Arcana's greatest obsession.
Honestly the mind games go nowhere. They go off on tangents often since it's more about winning than reasoning. Arcana doesn't give a damn but Constantine is simmering inside because she has no idea what the hell is going on in Arcana's head.
Interestingly, Arcana is one of the few people to make Madam Z openly hostile. Granted it's still restrained but you can tell she wants Arcana nowhere near her baby.
In terms of teamwork, Arcana follows Vertin's orders without question but then suddenly pull a monkey's paw. As in, Vertin will tell her to do something and she'll get it done in the worst possible way. When Arcana's feeling cooperative, they are a terrifying duo.
It's a cycle of people using each other to reach a common goal. I feel like we can explore darker sides of the Timekeeper this way to. She's a sweetie, but she's able to manipulate and scheme just as much as Constantine and Arcana. She can see their train of thought even though she doesn't agree.
When she takes Arcana on missions she keeps in her line of sight at all times. She's afraid of what Arcana will do the moment she takes her eyes off her. Naturally, Arcana will sometimes vanish just to stress Vertin out and do the most mundane things like buy herself a drink or watch the birds in a nearby park. She hangs around and waits to see a frustrated Timekeeper chase after her.
This whole thing was created because I had a vision:
A miserable Vertin and a curious Arcana eating McDonald's in Constantine's office. Constantine is listening to Vertin give her a personal update on how their mission went. Constantine is there listening with her head in her hands and a Happy Meal on her desk.
The McDonald's was Vertin's idea. She was hungry. As much as she dislikes Arcana, she won't let people under her go hungry either. Arcana's never had McDonald's before so this is new to her. She's examining her nuggets and a VERY tired Vertin is opening the sauce to show her how to eat them.
The Happy Meal was bought for Constantine to "cheer her up" because the mission was a disaster and Vertin had to share the news. Essentially she's just screwing with Constantine because that's the only silver lining in the whole ordeal.
The whole team... Oh something like that
