Yesterday was my birthday and I wanted to draw something special. It's a redraw of something I drew a couple years ago. I raced the clock but couldn't get it done before midnight, so here it is today. Hope you enjoy! 😊
Finally finished Theme #2 School! Again, I ended up taking more time than I wanted to in order to finish this. I'm going to continue trying to make more time to work on these Themes so schoolwork doesn't eat up my time. 🔹 I don't have much to say about this scene, other than my OC Helyna (pictured here) loves reading books, so I thought this scene would be most fitting for her. One thing that kind of bugs me about this scene is that it's too orange. I would've liked a better color balance, so that's something for me to keep in mind for future Themes. 🔹 I wish school were this peaceful. 😣 Lately, it feels like I've been in a whirlwind of busyness. I'm not sure what else to do other than to keep moving forward and constantly trying to utilize my time better. 🔹 Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy! I'm finished with Theme # 1 Name! 😊 Took me quite a bit longer than my target goal, but what can I say? Life happens. 🔷 Here's where I tell you a bit about the scene. When I first made the list of themes, I picked "Name" as the first theme because it stood out to me; I thought it would be a great starting point for the project as it would give me a chance to introduce myself and what's in the name. The name itself being Crystal; short for Crystal-the-CC being my artist alias. I came up with this name a few years ago when I was making a DeviantArt account, and because I've really liked the name Crystal (for as long as I can remember), it's just stuck with me. 🔷 Since the time I started creating characters, I named my first one (on the right) after the obvious, Crystal, simply because I liked the name. The character on the left is also named similarly, but more so because the character is my fursona, or my animal personification. As for the object in the middle, it IS a crystal; the thing which I've named myself and 2 OCs after. 🔷 In retrospect, I think I've always had an affinity for crystals and precious gemstones, but didn't realize it until more recent years. I still like the name today. I can't see myself having any other artist alias other than Crystal-the-CC, as I think it very much fits me and what I like to do the most: create creatures. 🔷 Aside, I thought I'd share my old drawing of this theme as well. Looking at it and my new one side-by-side just astonishes me. I don't know what else to say other than that I'm very happy with the improvements that have been made thus far. 🔷 I hope you guys enjoy what I have to share! My "Meet The Artist" page is done! I've been wanting to make one of these since the beginning of this year, as I saw most of the artists I follow make one, so I'm hopping on the bandwagon kinda late. But it was still fun to do! The reason why I wanted to make this was to share more about me. It came to me, as I saw others being made, that I can sometimes forget that there's a person behind the art, and I enjoyed looking at & reading what other artists posted about themselves. I hope you guys don't forget either. Another fact about me: my favorite thing to draw is made-up creatures. That's why I chose and stuck with my name "Crystal the Creature Creator" for years; since 2011. There's quite a bit behind the name actually...it's a story for another day maybe? I hope y'all enjoy learning more about me! Zoom in to see the details on my drawings. :)
Finished my self-portrait! I’ll admit I made a mistake when I colored in the skin tones on the original, so I edited it in Photoshop. (2nd pic is original drawing) I need better skin tone colored markers… But that aside, I’m pretty proud of it. This was also my first attempt at coloring hair in a different style than I usually do, and I’m liking it a lot better. Again, this is part of a bigger piece that I wanted to do; I’m making a Meet The Artist page and drawing myself in my style is a big part of it. (*cough* spoilers. That is actually 2 years of flashcards. It look enormous. I'm so proud of it, it help me revise quickly ! Also I made notes for technical drawings, I don't have flashcards anymore but a piece of paper do the job. Also it's ??/100 days of productivity but miss the count.
42/100 days of productivity: Today I started my revisions weeks. I revised 17 chapters. I can tell you that I'm now totally exhausted ! However I took numerous break, I even went for a walk because I couldn't stay concentrate. Anyway I am really proud ! Also I have that new mug which is so cool (even if it's with male pronoun) and I guess I will take weight during those 2 weeks because I drink and eat so much ! (I bought could snacks to stay motivated)
39/100 days of productivity: Planning my revision weeks. I use code colouring to know which chapters are important and which one are less important or already known. It last me a lot of time to list every one of it.
38/100 days of productivity: My teacher are all trying to finish in time. It's like my third maths lesson of the week.
32/100 days of productivity: My schedule changed a lot this week and this is even worse next week. I feel completely out of my routine. There is so much things to know in this course that I decided to use a 4A paper than my usual A5 Bristol paper.
25/100 days of productivity: Revising 2 years of computer science right now. There were things I've already forgotten.
17/100 days of productivity: Bake some cakes for my class today. Bought new black pens because this is the time again when all my pen are dying. Spent hours on my oral presentation's power point, made physics notes and exercices.
15/100 days of productivity: Learning learning learning While finishing my DM I made a chai tea latte : my favorite brevage by far right now.
12/100 days of productivity : There is so much things to do for next week. But tomorrow is French exam which mean : learning as much quotes that I can learn this evening and try to remember some of them during my exam.
Lot of work today. I spend hours on my khôle notes looking for more informations in physics books. I even continued while cooking and finished after eating but I made a pause to come back at school in the afternoon.Though, it took me so long ! I also made my engineering sciences notes during the morning classes because why not. I saved time that way. And now, 11pm, I will only begin my physics homework. I become to be late in my work. I spent too much time helping others doing their own homeworks that I forgot mine. So, I will probably work late tonight.
9/100 days of productivity : This afternoon I had some time, so I began my physic notes for my khôle. (sort of french oral exam every week for student who pretend to join a "great" school like engineering school or commercial school) I also helped my sister understand primitives. I mades a lot of exercices in maths myself, learned engineering sciences for tomorrow exam and read again my French notes.
J-7: I bought new highlighters and highlight everything I could ! Scanning like 40 pages of book, it took so long ! And eventually learning a bit.
28 April (Diff Eq.)
The struggle has been very real over the course of the last week. I failed a test (it was in the teens), my mom is still in the hospital, and some days are definitely better than others, but I am holding on.
I can’t in good faith give up everything that I’ve worked so hard to build. I have also been procrastinating. The Howard deadline is 30 April, and tbh I haven’t put my all into it (despite really wanting to attend the school).
Small update, but that’s all for today.

Today was rough, I was constantly fighting tooth and nail to study, and ultimately didn’t get much done. As much as I love being neurodivergent, it definitely has its drawbacks. However I am going to be headed back to the doctor soon to try and help with my focus.
Just because someone looks alright doesn’t mean that they are conversely, don’t assume that people who don’t look the best are struggling.
