You probably know the Hero’s Journey popularized by Joseph Campbell, the basic structure for many beloved stories. A hero gets called to action, enters an unknown world, faces challenges and temptations, fails, learns what they need to change, applies said new insights, et voilà: success.
I just realized you can apply this to your imposter syndrome and self-doubt. Many of you feel (or fear) you don’t have the skills to bring your big, new project to an end. I’m here to tell you: you don’t need to.
The hero at the beginning of the story doesn’t have what it takes to bring their journey to a successful end. It’s the journey itself that transforms the character into someone who has what it takes to finish it. The character at the end of the journey is not the same as the character at the beginning of the journey.
So start ambitious projects that you feel underqualified for. It’s not imposter syndrome or writer’s block. You're in the challenges and temptations phase of your journey. Don’t let them hold you back. Let them transform you. Identify the skills you need to acquire to make your journey into a success. Learn. Practise. You’re not “not good enough”—you’re on your Hero’s Journey and you’re on the threshold of your transformation phase.
(I told my husband about this idea and he played Don't stop believin' by Journey. Per-fection.)

~ Embracing fall and a tiny bit of Halloween in today's page from my Reflections Journal. ~ 🍂🎃
Got out my Mini Journal after over a year. Couldn't figure out my own style to create in this one for the longest time.
But today, my heart is very happy about not giving up on this baby. 🐥🥺
I love the little shiny quotes that bring in good energy.🥰
I may not have the wisest words to say but I do want to spread love. That’s the guttural calling I cannot ignore, despite the days when a safe, known life feels easy.
I do not know what adventure awaits but I can already feel the stirrings of something beginning. Something warm, something exciting, something to make me smile from the inside.
.
Sometimes, the easiest way out is to cave in to what your heart already knows but what your mind is too afraid to take a leap for.
Today, more than ever, may we take that leap. 🌸
.
These are screengrabs I’ve taken while or after watching an episode. Returning to post these brings the same warmth and fuzziness in my heart as it did the first time I watched these scenes.
I’m always grateful for positive things in this world, especially on the days that feel a bit too hard. I’m always grateful to be Loved, even though I may not understand the ways in which I’m being taken care of.
Sometimes, a shoulder to cry, a show to return to, or a Friend who’s picture you can look at and talk to are enough to soothe the rough edges of life.
I hope you find those too, in case you may need them today. 🌸
~ From my experience with being indecisive for the smallest of things, I’ve come to know that it is the root cause of loop thinking. Often, this could be negative in nature.
But once I decide, once I choose to make a choice, the wave of thoughts subsides, leaving the mind calmer, more still. Choosing to decide, sooner than later, thus, can elevate a lot of worry, inner confusion, and irritation, self-caused by my mind.~✨
~ Currently crushing on: Bellaanna and Sabrina ~ 🌺
I was watching a journaling video in 2020 and spotted these. It was love at first sight. I decided to wait until these became available in India.
I finally found these last week, listed on a local store’s Instagram page. You can imagine my delight.
They were delivered yesterday and I had to play with all the inks I had to make tons of Bellaanna and Sabrina flowers! (The stamps from Mo Card are a journaller’s delight.)
There was this quote on their boxes that made my heart smile, “Look for the most beautiful flower in the box and give it to you.”
In a recent drama that I watched, I learned something beautiful --- you must share what you are passionate about otherwise your passion for that thing will begin to slowly fade away.
I am unsure if my love for stationery will die out but I do feel some part of me stifle when I don’t share my passion for it.
I feel grateful for that learning. It has brought me back to share my sticker and paper love with more hearts.
Here’s to beginning once again, as many times as I require to.🌺
I tried something out of my comfort zone the other day. Inspired by @milkyystudy I decided to do a stickers-inspired spread and it turned out quite delicious.✨🌼 . . Stickers from: @thepagemark @noonchie.co @stationerymoon_21 (Using someone's art in your journal is priceless.💕) . Celebrated my first MT washi tapes as well.🌼 . . "Overthinking is a habit that we create when we feel unsafe. It's the the mind's attempt to predict the future. It's the illusion that we can 'think' our way into security. The truth is we cannot control anything external. Mantra for overthinking: I am choosing peace in this present moment. ❤

Sometime last year, a post of @galadarling said, "You are not stuck. You are choosing not to choose." . This hit home. . I was in a rut, in regards to a lot of aspects of my life. I kept telling myself "I don't know what to do" and I kept chanting that "I was stuck". . Slowly, on reflecting upon Gala's words, I realised, I wasn't stuck, I was choosing not to make a choice because I was afraid I would make the wrong ones. . But, I learnt that if you don't choose, you don't move forward and as hence, you stop yourself from growing. . So this year, I started to choose to choose. I am learning to become "unstuck" one choice at a time. . For anyone who needs to hear this today: make a choice. Even if it turns out to be a terrible one. Because despite the bad result, you are at least moving, you are at least learning and you are at least willing to choose a direction. Sometimes, that's all it takes to come unstuck.🌼
“It is okay if you are slowly becoming the person you want to be. Real growth takes time. The things that stick and the things that stay are often the things we put together gradually, with heart and soul and effort. What arrives too fast often leaves that quickly, too. What arrives slowly is often what we savor most, because it is what we placed all of our love into, it's what we made space in our lives to hold. Please do not think you are falling behind just because your growth is not happening as fast as you thought it might. Seasons don't turn overnight, but always arrive just in time.” - Brianna Weist

~ Over the last few months, I’ve been enjoying more minimal spreads. A funny connection that I’ve observed: the more I declutter my space (clothes, books, stationery, etc.), the more cleaner and simpler my journal pages turn out. I love how content they make me feel. And here’s to the tiny sushi stickers to whom my heart belongs. ~
“serious transformations begin with two commitments:
the courage to try new things and act in new ways
the honesty needed to no longer hide from or lie to ourselves.”
