Damien and Vera! Childhood besties who have podcast clip-worthy banter. Vera's spunky and risk-taking (and kind of manipulative, but that's beside the point) whereas Damien is confidently honest and not a doormat per say, but he's close enough with Vera to the point he just goes along with whatever she says. They're pals.

You know what? What if I make him attend prom huh? What if I gave him a date to the prom? What if he has his high-school movie 3rd act climax right of passage having a slow dance with someone at prom HMMM? How you like them apples?
This won't make sense right now but truuuuuuuuuuuust when I get the time + feel the mood to paint I'll 1000% draw Damien in his graduation gown receiving the diploma and honor roll top of his class with the biggest purest smile on his face to 'Youth' by Glass Animals or maybe 'Don't look back in anger' by Oasis.
and yeah he will be doing that in both versions of this AU but there is no Total-Drama-Season-3 -shaped wrench thrown into his plans for graduating and he successfully distances himself from anything related to Total Drama and lives a happy and fulfilled life and can sleep peacefully without the insomnia he's accustomed himself to because of overstudying to catch up on material he missed out on during the first 2 seasons. I mean whaaaaaaaaaaaaat??? who said thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?????????????????
Analyzing Total Drama's repercussions and negative effects on teenagers in-universe is actually so enlightening and awesome and fun when you don't have some miserable clown in your ear telling you it's "just a cartoon" and that "you're reaching". Yeah reaching up what do you get? PEAK!!!!!!

This feels sorta contradictory but I think Damien would actually be a big fan of horror movies, on a technical scale. Since he's already into nerd culture (mostly D&D and LARPing) I don't think it's too far out there to assume he'd also be into cosplays and would have experimented with making some homemade "fake blood" solution. Makes sense knowing his knowledge/interest in science and chem too?
Damien outside the show (and notably in the *comfort* of his own home watching something he knows is *staged*) would see an absolute bloodbath in an old slasher film then go "Oh, there's a bit of a splash to it. They probably substituted half of the glucose syrup for cherry juice". He's so gonna use that for his cosplay at the next Fan expo.

I'm not gonna tag his "canon" tags here bc honestly this is a really off kilter characterization of this funny little man. and tbh I really need to refresh my memory on some of these medias, which I WILL do eventually. woo hoo.

Ok I lied. Today wasn't that uneventful. Decided to really sit down and think about the racial and socioeconomic implications of my favourite fictional disfunctional but hopefully not OOC (...by too much) best friends 'group parents but if the parents needed a divorce or marriage counselling' gut-wrenching situationship thats "sorta canon x oc but not really because the 'oc' second guy actually exists in canon but only in 3 lines of text" OTP yet NOTP unserious bromance romance BUT "not one over the other because they're just as effectively bad together as friends as they are a couple but I don't want to queerbait but also I don't want to undermine the sheer tenacity of a friendship between two of the messiest teenagers ever" complicated ass ship in an attempt to make these characters convincingly feel like real humans by showing that while not defining their character, factors like your cultural values, racial and ethnic background, relationship to money, the people you're surrounded and surrounding yourself with, the environment you grew up in and the expectations that you followed or rebelled against all play roles in shaping how one's identity is formed and that every little interaction that has or hasn't happen does subtly mold how you see yourself-- which obviously affects relationships where you will be analyzing the other person based on their identity and what similarities and differences you have and how you work together with similarities or how differences in experience and perspective can either help or hinder the relationship and how you act in said relationship that best suits your individual personal needs.

Today was frankly uneventful despite the handful of assignments I have due becoming more and more due at an alarmingly fast rate. Hoping to pull through and channel the pure studious energy that these doodles of Damien have. ❤️🩹
