Hey guys! I am so sorry I have been MIA! 2025 has been a stressful year so far for my family and I, mainly due to the Los Angeles fires happening right now. Luckily, we are safe, but many close friends and family are evacuated or were evacuated, so unfortunately I have not had tons of time to write. I am still planning on finishing up my WIPs, so they should be coming soon. New content is coming soon, I swear. I miss you guys!
Hey guys! I am indeed still here, I’ve been kind of lurking the last few weeks due in addition to my academic workload increasing significantly. I’ve also had some of the best moments in my life the last few weeks so I’ve been enjoying those. I’m hopefully going to try to post all the things I’ve written tonight or tomorrow. I’m not going anywhere, just took a little break haha.
A slightly late anniversary gift to Violet and Zach, @jokerislandgirl32, Happy Anniversary!!
Daphne was buzzing with excitement. She considered herself as someone who had a flair for romance, even though she still hadn’t found her true love yet, and as a dramatic person, she knew that she had to go the extra mile for Zach and Violet’s anniversary. Vallen and Vera had both reached out to her weeks ago after realizing they couldn’t do their crazy idea without her, and Daphne agreed immediately. She knew that Zach and Violet were going to be so surprised when they saw their vision.
Violet was a little apprehensive to go to the tip of their penthouse. Six perfect little gremlins, aka her children and Daphne, were practically dragging her to the roof, something that was exciting and a little terrifying at the same time. She gave a quick nervous to her husband Zach, also being dragged onto the roof, and felt a sense of gratitude to have been able to push through all the rough parts of the past year together and celebrate another anniversary together. As Victor and Victoria opened the doors to the roof, Violet burst into tears with happiness.
Hundreds of candles and a plethora of snacks lay onto of a blanket, pointed towards a screen playing some of Zach and Violet’s favorite romance movies. Zach and Violet were touched by the kind gesture. Violet gave her children and watery smile and gave each of them a hug, including Daphne of course, and sat down next to the love of her life, Zach Varmitech.
I love you guys 💕
You guys always seem to know how to cheer me up, this has been the most positive and best fandom I’ve ever been in. Thank you for liking me and Daphne! 💙💚
Daphne was excited to finally go somewhere new. She traveled often outside of the country, visiting six out of the seven continents many times, (Antarctica was just too cold for her) going to life changing places like Nigeria and Brazil, along with the iconic fashion weeks in Italy and France, but she never really traveled within the USA. She had never traveled out of New York City for more than 3 hours while staying in the US. Now she was going across the country to the sunny San Diego. Her friend Nori, someone she met at the beach with the Varmitechs, invited her out to stay with her family for a week, because her mom is going on another business trip in Las Vegas, a couple hours away from San Diego. The plan was for Daphne and her mom to take the jet to Las Vegas, and Daphne would take a short flight to San Diego from there. Daphne zipped up her two huge suitcases and got ready to get on the jet, to take off for the gorgeous California.
Daphne was super excited to see her friend again and meet her family. Nori and Daphne talked often over video calls and texts, and whenever Nori was in New York, but Daphne didn’t see her as often as she would like, and had never met any of Nori’s other family. Daphne wondered if they were as effortlessly cool as Nori was. Nori was a photographer and skateboarder, both things Daphne was awful at, and was incredibly close with her whole family, even her aunts and uncles. She was older than Daphne was and had an air of maturity that Daphne had not been able to replicate, no matter how hard she tried. Daphne had heard so so much about Nori’s family and all of their talents and was excited to finally put faces to the names that she had been hearing since the beginning of the friendship.
After getting out of Andrea and Nori’s car, who had picked her up at the airport, Daphne took a long look at Nori’s house. It was gorgeous and so chic, Daphne loved it. As Daphne walked through the door, she was instantly met with chaos. Nori gave a quick introduction of everyone after seeing Daphne’s shocked face and introduced them to her. Jett, Nori’s twin brother, was sitting on their kitchen counter eating an orange, while Layla, Jon, and Tim, Nori’s younger sister, uncle and dad, respectively, danced around the kitchen while a Switchfoot album played. Two more of Nori’s uncles were playing a very heated game of Uno together. Daphne’s mind was reeling from all of the chaos. She was not used to more than three people in her house in general at a given time, let alone, one room. Andrea, after seeing Daphne’s face, laughed and assured Daphne that the Foreman household is always crazy, to which the group whooped and Nori smiled at. Daphne managed a smile and tried to relax, knowing she was going to have fun here.

TW: abandonment feelings
Daphne was excited to finally learn how to play the piano. Her father was an excellent pianist, along with her aunt Violet along with Varina and Vera. Music was literally in her blood, it was how her mother fell in love with her father and how her father paid the bills. Henry Lopez was a world class musician before he transitioned to producing music. Some of Daphne’s earliest memories were seeing concerts, watching Varina and Vera flourish in piano, and watching Henry and Violet play music together, before Henry moved out and never spoke to Violet again. It was expected for Daphne to be another musician, especially by her father. Daphne could feel him pulling away from her, so she couldn’t fail or mess this up. Daphne took a deep breath, steeled her nerves, and walked through the door.
A couple of months later, Daphne knew she was completely out of her league. She practiced for hours after class every day, but she was still the worst in her class by far. Her fingers couldn’t move quick enough and she always seemed to forget where the notes were, no matter how many times everyone seemed to tell her. She could see her teacher sigh, out of the corner of her eye, as she walked into the classroom. She waved to Vallen, a star student and brother of Vera and Varina, and sat down next to her teacher. When she started playing, she could feel the waves of judgment from her teacher and the pain of all the other students, suffering through her ‘music’. Daphne was red from embarrassment and could feel everyone else’s eyes on her, wondering what she was doing on the piano.
After Daphne’s lesson was finished, she waited on the curb for her father to pick her up. He didn’t even look at her as she climbed into the front seat and just started driving, pointedly ignoring her. Henry didn’t think Daphne was trying hard enough in piano and viewed it as sheer laziness. “I just wish you would be more like Allison, she was playing in concerts at your age. I’m disappointed in you, Daphne” Henry told her as he drove down the highway. Daphne didn’t respond, she couldn’t convince him that she was trying either way. Daphne could see that Allison was coming up more and more recently. They had never met, but her dad seemed to really be in love. Daphne wanted to be happy for him and she was, but the feeling of abandonment was getting stronger every time Allison came up and the chasm between them only widened. Daphne stared out the window until her father pulled up to the Varmitech Industries building, where Daphne would be spending the night while her mother worked. Henry was supposed to spend the night, just the two of them, but he decided that he instead wanted to go with Allison, causing Donita to frantically text Zach, asking if he would be able to watch Daphne. Daphne was excited to spend time with the Varmitechs, she really was, but she couldn’t help but feel the familiar twinge of disappointment that her father had let her down again, something that seemed to be getting more and more common. Daphne sighed and started walking towards the building, feeling like a burden.
Violet was disappointed in Henry. She could tell that Daphne was upset that he didn’t spend the night, and frankly so was Violet. She was always happy to watch Daphne, viewing her almost as another daughter, but was annoyed by the extremely short notice and complete lack of acknowledgement from Henry. Once upon a time, they were playing music and singing together, but then Henry and Donita got divorced. Violet was upset about the way that Henry chose to handle the news and felt bad for her friend, but was more surprised by Henry never reaching out to them. She sent a few texts to him in the beginning, asking how he was and that she was always there if he wanted to talk, but he never responded. Violet felt disappointed in Henry, yet again, he had thrown away years of friendship and kinship, never speaking to Violet again after the divorce. He even seemed to actively avoid her, never looking her in the eye, something Violet definitely noticed and did not approve of. Henry seemed to be disappointing in every category recently, he was a bad husband, friend, and seemingly father. Violet sighed and opened the door as Daphne walked through the elevator doors, wanting to be the parental figure Daphne deserved.
Some Daphne and Vallen kisses for you 🥰🥰🥰!!!

I love love love them so so much! They’re so cute, thank you so so much @jokerislandgirl32 😍😍😍😍😍 they’re the cutest 😌
Vera and all of her siblings belong to the incredible @jokerislandgirl32
Daphne wondered one night, not for the first time, why couldn’t she be more like the Varmitechs? They had their lives together and were doing more than she was. Daphne knows comparison is hard but it's difficult when Vera, who is barely older than Daphne, is an incredible musician with a 4.0 GPA along with being in varsity ballet and gymnastics, somehow maintained a cheerful attitude, and was so gorgeous. Vera was everything that Daphne wanted to be and wasn’t, and while she would never admit it, she was extremely jealous of her. Vera didn’t have perceivable flaws, at least according to Daphne. She was jealous of the entire Varmitech family, they seemed to have something that Daphne didn’t and would never have. Every sibling was so unique and good at what they did and truly cared about it and each other. Daphne was even jealous of the Varmitech parents. She knew why her parents had to get divorced, but missed the unity and strength that Violet and Zach project. Everyone around them could tell that they were deeply in love and there was no question to be had about it. Zach and Violet wer both involved in all of their children’s lives deeply, something Daphne always felt insecure about. Zach could remember tiny details of his five earthside children’s lives while her own father was struggling to remember his oldest daughter and only child with Donita’s birthday. Daphne seemed to be terrible at everything Henry was good at. The worst part for Daphne though was that all of the Varmitechs really cared about her. They incorporated her into their family vacations and spent their own free time to help her. They were impossible to hate, but Daphne was still jealous. She knew she brought important skills to the table, but they just felt so mediocre and terrible compared to the talents everyone else had. Daphne knew it was normal to feel insecure, but also felt guilty for feeling negative thoughts towards people who changed her life so fundamentally. They were rays of sunshine in her dark clouds, and she appreciated them and all they did more than they could ever know, even when she was feeling jealous of all they had.
I am indeed alive!! I’ve been working on this for a while, but life has been crazy recently.
Daphne and the WK Team
Chris: Daphne likes Chris. He struggles to relate to her at times because he’s outdoors, literally touching grass. Whenever he needs help with the internet, he’ll call her over, knowing she’s good at that stuff. He watches her grow up in many ways, and is close with her, but sometimes he questions her mother’s intentions. He isn’t wholly convinced that Donita completely reformed, but he is willing to try to get over it, due to lack of evidence that she is back to her villainy ways.
Martin: Daphne has always had an interesting relationship with Martin. Her mom was around him a lot, but she didn’t know very much about him. He was around enough for it to be suspicious, but not enough for Daphne to confront Martin or Donita about it. Their relationship is their business and Daphne tries to just focus on her own relationship with him. He’s genuinely a very nice person, and while Daphne doesn’t talk to him without her mother around very often, he seems to be a like minded person to her.
Aviva: Daphne loves Aviva. She’s probably the closest to Daphne of the WK team and they often chat to each other in Spanish. Aviva really cares about Daphne, but at times, especially when grades are involved, oversteps and tries to parent Daphne and force her to be better. She doesn’t think Daphne is trying hard enough in school, and doesn’t realize that math and science don’t come as easily to Daphne as they do to her. Despite all this, Daphne spends lots of time with Aviva and sends her some of her mothers finished products she thinks she’ll like.
Koki: Daphne didn’t get along very well with Koki in the beginning. They clashed a lot about the internet, since they both are on it and are prominent figures on it. Koki is against influencers in general, viewing them as scammers and not productive in society, and this bias bled into her relationship with Daphne. Daphne being Donita’s daughter didn’t help either. Koki is still semi convinced that the new being good act is just an act and Donita is waiting for them to let their guard down. As Daphne got more mature, she started talking to Koki more and told her more about her career on the internet and how not every influencer is the same. They eventually became closer, but still aren’t completely friends, with Daphne feeling hurt about what Koki said and Koki is still suspicious of Daphne.
Jimmy: Daphne rarely if ever interacts with Jimmy. She respects what he does but they just don’t have much in common. They follow each other on social media and like each other’s posts but their interactions don’t often go beyond a like and potential short comment. When they meet in person, they are both very awkward, preferring to interact with the safety of their screen in front of them. Daphne and Jimmy are both fine with this relationship, but people around them are pushing them to become closer due to their positive interactions.
Daphne Meets Nori
(Nori belongs to @caityrayeraye and Varina belongs to @jokerislandgirl32 )
Daphne was enjoying the beach with her friend, Varina, when she saw a blonde tendril, that kind of looked like hair. She dismissed it as seaweed and continued playing. Then she saw something that looked like a mermaid tail. Daphne was going to dismiss it, but then she saw a head, a foot away from her.
Daphne screamed when she saw the girl, trying to swim away. The girl quickly apologized for scaring her, and introduced herself as Nori. Daphne was apprehensive about her, she was a mermaid!!! but Varina seemed to be comfortable with her and they were friends. Nori got out of the ocean, and transformed back into a human right before Daphne’s eyes. It was one of the coolest and weird things she had ever seen.
A couple hours later, Varina, Daphne, Nori and Nori’s partner Harry were lying on the beach. Daphne was fascinated by Nori and her relationship with Harry. She never had a relationship as long as theirs and never felt towards someone the feeling that Nori and Harry felt for each other. Nori seemed like a great person and Daphne exchanged phone numbers with her. They bonded over photography, and Nori offered to photograph her when she came to New York next. Daphne thought that was such a kind offer and accepted it. Varina, Daphne, and Nori took a photo together and then went their separate ways, promising to meet again soon.
Daphne goes on vacation
(Violet, Vera, Varina, Vallen, Victor and Vallen belong to @jokerislandgirl32 )
Under cut due to length
Daphne was excited to finally go somewhere. She hadn’t been on a large family vacation like this since she was a little baby, but after weeks of convincing, she was finally going to the beach with the Varmitech family. Her mom had to work, so she wouldn’t come. Daphne was excited to go somewhere completely alone for the first time, even if it was with a family friend. They were going to the beach, a place Daphne loved but went to less often than she’d like. Once she had double checked her packing and spoke to her mom about what to do, she left to go to the beach with the rest of the Varmitechs.
Daphne was pleased to discover she had her own room, close to the Varmitech’s suite, where everyone else would be staying. She was happy to have her own room but still be close to everyone else. She plopped onto her bed and then began to unpack. After she had changed into her swimsuit, a yellow and purple bikini, she joined Zach, Vera, Varina, Vallen, and Victor to go down to the beach. Violet and Victoria opted to stay in the hotel and meet them for dinner in a couple hours.
Daphne had fun running in the ocean with the other kids and playing, but she wasn’t used to the chaos that came with them. She was an only child so she wasn’t used to the craziness that came with siblings. But, Daphne had a ton of fun in the sun with everyone. She managed to convince Zach to be ‘buried’ in the sand, which she enjoyed doing. After he got out of the sand, they all walked to meet Violet and Victoria for dinner. Daphne was worried about dinner, she was a picky eater in general and had a shellfish allergy. She managed to figure it out though, and had a nice dinner with the Varmitechs. They insisted on paying for her meal, even though she brought money from her mom, because she was the guest.
When everybody got back, they discovered that they forgot to put on sunscreen, much to everyone’s horror. Daphne was significantly tanner, and everybody else was red as a tomato. Zach got it the worst, he looked more like a lobster than a human. He was whining to Violet, and Daphne went to her room as Violet began to apply aloe vera to everyone’s burns. In that moment, she felt grateful to not really burn as easily.
The vacation was overall great, and Daphne felt grateful to temporarily be a member of the Varmitech crew.
i meant color palette character wise. hair color? skin color? etc. do you have a specific color in mind for those things?
it’s fun she has a yellow motif though!! i just want a designated color palette design wise :)
I see her skin and hair tones as being very close to these colors, and her eyes are dark amber color. The one thing though is that Daphne has tried so many hair styles, and used to regularly bleach her hair. She doesn’t do that as much anymore but depending on the time, her hair can be pretty much anything. Hope this is a little better explanation haha.

I made Daphne with the Picrew linked below! I hope this is an accurate representation of her! It is as close as I could get 😊!

She looks so pretty! Thank you so so much! I love the outfit and her expression. You did a great job😍😍😍
do you have a color palette for daphne?
Thanks for the ask, anon!
She really loves yellows. Despite her mothers criticism of the color, she loves it and uses it to ‘stand out’ next to her mother. She also really loves daffodils, her favorite flower, and daisies and will try to include a reference to them in almost every outfit she wears. She’s not picky at all when it comes to clothes though and will wear pretty much anything. Aside from yellow, she loves blue and navy. But to answer your question, I don’t have a designated color palette yet, but I’m working on a mood board for her
A couple more references for Daphne
(The pinned post is still probably the most accurate, but here are a couple more styles)
(The skin tone was a nightmare, the pinned post and my pfp is the closest)
AN: I didn’t write an actual intervention because I don’t have enough experience with them. This also has no intention to be anything but a ‘check in’ for Daphne to improve her behavior.
Vera, Vallen, and Violet all belong to the talented @jokerislandgirl32
Daphne knew something was up. Her parents were acting differently and everyone seemed to be tiptoeing around her. She noticed Zach’s jet pulling in, and knew something was up. Out walked Zach and Violet, looking solemn. Gourmand was in video call, something was going on and Daphne could guess what it was. She knew for sure when she was called into the ‘fancy’ living room, something they only ever used if there was something serious happening. As she sat down, her family started explaining how to use the internet in a healthy way. Daphne didn’t really care at first but she actually learned a lot, and felt much better about everything after the talk was over. Her family loved her, really, and their opinions and her own were more important than the trolls online. Daphne decided that she would take a small break from social media, and start doing other hobbies, once she found them. Her grades were also awful, so maybe this tutoring thing isn’t such a bad idea. It could be nice to spend more time with the Varmitechs, she would never admit it, but it gets lonely sometimes in the huge pink mansion, her parents aren’t around as much as she would like, and she doesn’t have any siblings that she sees often or are close in age. Vera was also super nice, and is a great role model for Daphne.
Vallen would be lying if he said he wasn’t worried about Daphne. She had always been someone he really cared about, and to hear she was struggling made him so upset. He couldn’t believe that his parents wouldn’t let him go see her, they were friends!! He wasn’t dramatic, he didn’t know what they were talking about, plus he never said anything that wasn’t true, it was their problem if they didn’t want to listen to him. He was right pretty often. But when he was around Daphne, he got all tongue-tied and weird. It was a shocking feeling, considering he had never been like that with any of his boyfriends or girlfriends. Vera claimed that he had a crush on her, but Vera was totally wrong. Right?? Yeah she was pretty and outgoing, but she was in a relationship and so was he. He wasn’t the type of guy to hurt someone like that, they would have to both be single for it to happen. It would never happen. He was content with just being her friend. It seemed like he would be seeing more of her in the near future, Vera is going to start tutoring her in math and science. He couldn’t wait to see her roaming his house. Maybe he needed some tutoring too, it didn’t matter that his grades were excellent. Anything to spend time with her… But in a totally friendly way of course.
AN: The bold italics are flashbacks. They are not in order but are set up to fit with the story.
TW: divorce
Daphne was nervous. It sounded crazy that she would be nervous to meet with her father and his family for the billionth time, but nonetheless, she was. They didn’t feel like her family, but they didn’t feel like not family either. They were all in a weird limbo, no one really knew how they felt about Daphne in their family. Her dad ignored her but pretended they were ultra close, her stepmom hated her and put her down at every turn, and her siblings were so young that they still worshiped the very ground she walked on, something their mother hated with a passion. Allison saw her as a threat, someone who could mess up or ruin everything she had worked so hard to build. She was too much and not enough for them at the same time. Daphne thought about the moment she met Allison often.
Daphne was excited to finally meet the girlfriend she had heard so much about from her father. He had other girlfriends before, but Daphne couldn’t recall a single time that they made him look half as happy as he was in the moment. He had been bragging about the two meeting for weeks. As Daphne opens the door into the café where they agreed to meet, she spots Allison. The first thing that strikes her is how similar she is to Donita, something that grows more obvious as time goes on. Allison was also a fashion designer; while not nearly as renowned or famous as her mother, she did pretty well for herself. On paper, their experiences were similar too. They both grew up in a large family and left their small town to be a fashion designer. At that moment, Daphne empathized with Allison. She knew it was probably difficult to be the ‘second choice’ especially being so close to the original. Allison would probably compare herself to Donita constantly, never quite measuring up. Two hours later, as they leave the café, Henry tells Daphne that she will always be her number one priority, no matter what.
Henry had clearly broken that promise to her. Allison hated her and Henry didn’t even try to defend her anymore, instead focusing on his new family and children. Her father used to be her biggest confidante and they would talk for hours when he wasn’t working, which was rare. He had really cut back on the hours since he married Allison, and while Daphne was happy that her half-siblings could have such a present father, she was sad that she didn’t get to enjoy that for herself. As always, when Henry walks in he asks her two questions: “How’s school life and your friends?” and after an uncomfortable silence, “How’s Ms. Donata?”. Never ‘your mom’ not even ‘Donita’, always choosing to use the title clients and strangers call her. Daphne thinks that sometimes he forgets that he was in an 8-year relationship with Donita, and no matter how much they denied it, their futures were intertwined. They used to be so in love.
Daphne looked up from her Cheerios to see her mommy and daddy kissing each other under the mistletoe. All she could see from their eyes was love, and they quietly muttered things to each other with laughter in their voices, before looking at Daphne. The product of their love and the best thing to ever happen to them. The family couldn’t be closer or happier, they even wore matching Christmas pajamas, designed by Donita, especially for them.
Daphne knew that they both hurt the other in so many ways. She truly didn’t think there was a fault in the divorce, they both made mistakes, and they were just an ill-fitted match that was never going to work out long-term. They got married so fast that they didn’t even really know each other. They didn’t put in the work to keep their relationship and make it work, believing in just love. They were so different, it was a miracle to believe that they even fell in love at all. Nonetheless, the divorce still shattered everything. It took away some of her mother’s ‘sparkle’ and made her even more cynical, something difficult to do based on the fact that she made her fortune from making clothes out of live animals. Deny it all they want, if you didn’t love someone, you wouldn’t be as shattered as they were that day.
Donita had been staring at the wall for fifteen minutes. She didn’t blink or even look at Daphne, sitting next to her. Daphne wasn’t 100% sure what was happening, but she knew her life was about to permanently change whether she wanted it to or not. Her parents, who she always thought were perfect Gods, had cried more in the last three days than she had ever seen in her seven years of life. Even her mother, who she had never seen cry and never would again, let out a few stray tears. Lawyers were talking to Daphne and talks were being held about splitting assets and what to do about her. Donita still didn’t move, just staring at the walls and crying. Her parents' fights had been really bad recently, her dad even moved out. They seemed to scream at each other until they were hoarse all the time, about everything. Daphne longed for the days of Christmas PJs and Cheerios.
As Daphne went into the house to awkwardly stand in the corner until her half-siblings dragged her away, she thought of all these moments. She also thought about Allison. She didn’t hate her stepmom, she loved her. Allison was the mother to her half-siblings, and no matter how awful she was to Daphne, she still loved her. She really was a great mother to them. She brought back the purpose of her father’s life. He started to play music again and began to come alive, something she hadn’t seen since he moved out. She loved her stepmom, and always will, but she’s been working on boundaries with her. Daphne was nervous, but also a little excited to spend time with her father.
TW: Depression
I'm planning on making 1-2 more parts on this short internet series with a few other things sprinkled in, lmk what you want to know next
Daphne’s life was spinning out of control. She feels like a different person than she was before she had social media, but she couldn’t quit. Social media was the only thing that made her happy, but also made her depression and sadness that much worse. Daphne hadn’t left her room in days and hadn't talked to her family in weeks. She knew her family was worried about her, but she wasn’t willing to go out and face them. They would be so disappointed in her and how she is a loser who cares too much about what others think, at the detriment of her own health. She didn't deserve her family’s love anymore, and she isn’t sure they would even recognize her, she didn’t. She felt like a huge burden to them, especially her mom, who was extremely worried about her and was skipping out on things she loved to do to watch her. She needed to take a break from social media and learn some boundaries about what to post and who to deal with people on the internet, but she can’t. The internet and social media are her downfall and her salvation. It was an oxymoron, just like she was at that point. She never got out of bed but she never rested. She felt everything and nothing at the same time. She had changed so much to fit what the internet would want, and now no one is happy, especially not her. Her content was falling in quality and views, and she no longer found joy in what she was posting. She needed to do something, but she didn’t think she deserved to grow and nobody would want to or be able to help her in the way she so desperately needed.
Gourmand could tell something was off. Daphne had not spoken or reached out to him in weeks, the longest she had ever gone. Donita skipped their monthly dinner to ‘take care’ of Daphne, but she wasn’t sick or injured as far as he knew. It was because of that phone, he knew it. He knew it was a mistake for her to get it and wanted to just rip it out of her hands the moment it was in them. He didn’t know much about the internet or technology, he had no interest in it and didn’t want the government to know about where he was (I hc Gourmand as the biggest conspiracy theorist and believer ever) and social media had no appeal to him. He could see the obsession in Daphne and wanted to quell it. That kind of determination couldn’t be healthy, especially for something as useless as the internet. Daphne was throwing away her life for that phone, and dragging her mother down with her. He loved Daphne, but he needed to form some kind of way to drag her out of the depths of the comments and internet, and he needed to do it now. He would meet with all the important people in Daphne’s life tonight and figure out a plan of attack.
TW: Hate, past abuse (not explicit but implied), negative self-talk
A/N: I do not own Violet or any of her children, they all belong to @jokerislandgirl32, I tried my best to write from her POV but any mistakes on context/accuracies/characterization are entirely my own. Also, the names used from the haters are meant to be funny and are not reflecting of anyone with these usernames
Daphne’s life was perfect. She was finally happy. She had to be, her life was as good as it ever had been. It didn’t matter that her dad didn’t say goodbye before he moved in with his new girlfriend Allison, who she doesn’t think likes her very much, and lives in another state now. Who cared that all of her ‘friends’ don’t seem to include her in anything anymore and say things behind her back. She didn’t mind being alone all the time, she had her phone to keep her company. Her internet followers were never mean to her and always seemed to multiply every time she checked her social media pages. They loved Daphne and she had nothing to worry about. Her life was truly a daydream. This is what Daphne was thinking about when she opened her Instagram page to see what the most recent comment was.
@/ImATrollWhoBulliesKids thought she was annoying. Maybe Daphne was a little bit annoying and nobody told her. @/IHateSuccessfulPeople thought she was an ugly attention seeker. Hundreds of comments flooded Daphne, nitpicking her for everything. There were anonymous comments too, telling her how awful she was without ever revealing themselves. Maybe Daphne wasn’t as good as she thought. She really wasn’t good at anything. Daphne decided that she would change herself to be what she thought her perceived audience would want her to be, and changed who she was. It would make the world love her more, it was worth it. It was worth it and Daphne was happy. It was what she always dreamed of. She had to do something drastic, something no one could expect, something different. Then she would be happy and be able to finally be who she had always wanted to be. She would be perfect.
Violet Varmitech was worried about Daphne. She knew the power words could have on somebody and how they could affect them, especially at a young age. She was no stranger to criticism, working in The Lost Colony Outdoor Drama. Her ex boyfriend, Travis, further contributed, nothing she ever did was good enough for him. She began to spiral, going into a dark place, until she met Zach again. He was able to remind her of the amazing parts of the world, and taught her to love again. She loved him and her life more than she could imagine now. Violet worried that Daphne was spiraling headfirst into that dark place, and nothing anybody said would get her out of it. She loved Daphne since the day they met, with Daphne arriving four days later than Donita’s due date. “Fashionably late” as she said. She loved Daphne’s determination and tenacity, and how she can get so focused on a task, much like her husband. Violet even secretly ‘shipped’ Daphne with her youngest son, Vallen. She could tell Daphne was changing. She saw her spending less and less time with her family, and more and more on her phone, alone, reading comments. The comments could be a vile place, and Violet could only imagine the horrid things people were saying about Daphne, someone so kind and determined, and what she was absorbing. She knew she had to figure out a way to teach her about the internet more and fast.
Daphne: Hey Zach could I borrow your Invisibility Cloak for this Instagram Post?
Zach: Absolutely not. This cloak...
Daphne, interrupting him: Oh okay... I guess I'll go ask Aviva then. I'm sure she has something better anyways.
*5 minutes later*
Daphne: And this is a super cool Invisibility Cloak I can use
TW:self doubt, negative self talk
(This is going to be a multipart series of Daphne learning her relationship with the internet)
(I know the timeframes could be off but bear with me for the sake of the plot)
Daphne wasn’t good at anything. She wasn’t strong like Jason or smart like Stephanie or fast like Jessica or creative like Fiona or anything. She was just average at best, forgettable at worst. The only positive thing anyone ever seemed to have to say about her was how pretty she was and her parents were so incredible. She knew, even in seventh grade, that she was destined to be another forgettable wannabe who died alone. There was nothing she could do about it except to wait for the inevitable to happen.
Then something unexpected happened. People started talking about these new ways to connect, through social media and short form content. Daphne always knew social media existed, but never really put any weight behind it. Her parents didn’t really use social media to promote themselves, and neither did most of the truly rich and famous people she knew. Then she researched how much money and fame people could get on a 30 second video. If somebody was determined, they could become a millionaire. The one thing Daphne had in spades was determination, so she figured it would be harmless and made a video, low quality and effort with 0 thought put into it, and went to bed. It was a travel video, something Daphne would become known for and was very simplistic.
When she woke up, the video had 18 views. 18 people had seen her video. She was instantly obsessed with the idea and began to create more and more content, eventually going viral after 3 months, with 7 million people viewing her video. She neglected everything else in her life, locking her mind on her social media and what people thought about her, changing who she was. She poured hours everyday into studying trends and changing herself and her content to fix these trends. Eventually, her account exploded with her having nearly three thousand followers by the end of her seventh grade year. She may not be strong or smart or fast or creative but she could be what she always wanted to be. Famous. Nothing else mattered. Her problems would disappear if she was famous and her stepmother and father would finally accept her for who she was, not who they wanted her to be. Fame is all that matters. Fame is the only thing that truly makes Daphne happy. Daphne is a failure without fame. Being famous would fix everything and finally make her lovable. Her family tried to reason with her but they couldn’t understand the need Daphne had to finally be somebody independent of her family for once. She had to be different or else she wasn’t special and maybe she really was worthless. Daphne placed her entire self worth into what strangers thought of her on the internet, what could go wrong?
All she ever wanted was to be cool, but she has imposter syndrome and doesn’t think she’s good enouhh
I'm so grateful for everyone in my life, physically and digitally. It's been a difficult year for me, but I am grateful for all the blessings I have recieved.
Without further ado,
Daphne's Quinceañera
(I do not celebrate quinceañeras in my culture, although I have been to a few, and apologize if I got anything wrong, not my intention at all)
It was finally here. The day where Daphne transitioned from a child to a woman and Daphne had dreamt of it her entire life… It was less than a week away but all Daphne could feel was dread. The party was perfectly set up, the food was gorgeous and made by Gourmand, a renowned chef, and her dress was breathtaking, handmade by her mother after months of work and research. Everybody felt ready to leave Daphne’s childhood behind. Everybody except for Daphne. She loves her independence, but ever since her relationship with Micheal, a popular boy at her school, ended she was feeling empty and worried that she would be alone forever. She pushed those feelings down and waltzed into her showroom, being meticulously organized and set up for the party of the century. Daphne inspected and approved the decorations, before leaving to call her father. Right when Daphne was about to hang up, Henry answered the phone, sounding out of breath. “Oh hey Daphne,” he panted, “what’s up?” He had been going on a run on his treadmill, his most recent escapade to stay young forever. Daphne reminded him of her birthday to make sure that he wouldn’t miss his flight and chatted with him about her life in school, growing more exhausted and insecure by the second. “Daphne, you’re smarter than this, I know you are. Why can’t you be more like Allison was in school?” Henry questioned after hearing about her most recent Biology quiz. Daphne simply sighed, knowing that Allison could do no harm in her husband’s eyes, and quickly changed the subject. After a few more minutes, Daphne said goodbye to her father and started working on some of her birthday Instagram posts.
Meanwhile, Donita was trying to keep it together, for Daphne’s sake. She wasn’t ready to see her daughter, her baby, become a woman. She could still remember her playing with her barbies, babbling on and on about something or another; now she was talking about relationships and future careers. Donita just wasn’t ready. She knew this day was coming, she just didn’t realize it would come so quickly. Daphne, on the other hand, seemed completely confident and ready to be a woman and make her own decisions. Donita wanted her to be able to have the space to do that, but worried Daphne would make the same mistakes that she did, leading to unnecessary pain and heartbreak. Speaking of Henry, Donita was finally going to see the famed new wife, Allison. The woman who caused Henry to ask for a divorce and caused the downfall of her daughter’s relationship with Henry. She wasn’t sure how she would manage to sit next to her ex and the new wife for an entire day, but for Daphne, she would manage.
Mere hours before the ceremony, Daphne and Donita were about to hit a breaking point. Daphne quietly uttered to her mother, “I don't know if I can do this mom. I don’t want to be an adult yet,” which just about shattered Donita’s heart. Turning to her daughter, Donita had a nice talk with her daughter about all the mistakes she made and who she was at fifteen. It seemed like a lifetime ago, all those crisp autumn days in Greece, with Donita dreaming of leaving to see her life truly start. They both realized that just because Daphne was going to be a woman officially in a few hours, she didn’t have to give up her childhood.
Daphne’s 15th birthday party was one for the books. Her whole night went almost as well as it could have, with only minor incidents occurring between the guests, notably her parents. Donita didn’t end up meeting Allison after all, taking more and more obvious ways to avoid her. Daphne’s dress was as show stopping as she had always hoped, and everyone seemed happy for her. All the gifts she got from her family were so thoughtful and pretty and she was so grateful to have such a wonderful group of friends and family members who really loved her. Growing up was hard, but Daphne Donata knew she could do it.
TW: bad teaching?, bullying, quitting, name calling, angst with a happy ending
Daphne never loved school. She loved learning, just not what the schools had to teach her. She just never understood what the teachers were saying and never cared enough about the subject to try to figure it out. Eventually Daphne gave up trying in school, opting to focus on her social life and influencer career.
Daphne’s teachers seemed to actively encourage this abandonment of school by never encouraging her to challenge herself and placing her in the easiest classes. They viewed her as ‘too dumb’ to understand the complexities of the subjects they taught and never bothered to try and make her understand. As a result, Daphne’s grades began to slip considerably, with her pulling ‘Ds for Daphne’ frequently, especially in math and science, her worst subjects. Donita and Dabio worried about her and her academics frequently, but neither of them were well equipped to be teaching her, barely understanding it themselves. Zach eventually caught wind of Daphne’s struggles and offered up himself and his daughter, Vera’s assistance, which Donita accepted immediately.
Daphne began tutoring with them, especially Vera, and waited. Waited for them to announce she was a lost cause and too stupid to understand like all of her other teachers did, but that moment never came. Her grades began to improve and Daphne began to foster a great relationship with Vera; she admired her passion for music and how she was able to ‘do it all’, at least according to Daphne. Daphne’s grades began to rise, with her eventually becoming a solid student, with Zach and Vera’s consistent efforts to make her understand enough to do well on the tests.
Daphne’s classmates, however, did not appreciate or notice this stark improvement. They continued to speak badly behind her back. They never told her directly because she was still a very popular and influential girl, having dated some of the most popular boys and amassed thousands of followers on social media, but they viewed themselves as better and smarter than her, thinking she was just a pretty face with nothing substantial to offer society. Henry, Daphne’s father, and Allison, her stepmother, did nothing to refute these claims, with Allison actually encouraging them, calling Daphne a ‘airhead’ and claiming there was ‘nothing behind her eyes’. Henry felt bad for Daphne but didn’t believe she was really trying in school, so he thought his wife’s comments may encourage her to start trying harder, and Allison was a distinguished student in high school, so she must know what she’s talking about. Daphne tried to ignore these comments, but they added to her insecurities and she began to see herself as an academic failure. She didn’t even want to bother to apply to any colleges, being convinced she would just be rejected, and would just focus on her influencer career, the only thing she seemed to be good at.
Dabio, someone who experienced similar things in high school and ended up not going to college because of it, becoming Donita’s henchman and model, managed to talk her into applying. He said while he loved Donita, her, and his life, not going to college was one of his biggest regrets, and he didn’t want the same for her. Together, they applied to many colleges for a plethora of majors. Daphne ended up being accepted to one of these majors and began her communications and marketing major. Her professors quickly noticed her fame and ability to amass massive amounts of followers through her social media, encouraged her to keep going, and taught her a lot about the internet and social media. Which later helped her get an invite to a prestigious content creation house, and start a PR business in addition to her global influencer career.
ahh oml this looks so cute!! 🥰 I’d love to share more about Daphne and her family

And I thought it totally matched Daphne and Vallen's relationship, with him seeing through her 'cool girl' act right from the beginning.
Shh, I got you all figured out You need everyone's eyes just to feel seen Behind your make up nobody knows who you even are Who do you think that you are

(Note: this is vaguely designed after @jokerislandgirl32 ‘s reference sheet for her selfship kids)
Under the cut due to length
Full Name: Daphne Catalina Donata
Birthday: November 17th
Name Significance: Donita found a model named Daphne in a fashion magazine, who she thought dazzled every photo she was in, and she wanted her daughter to be like that + alliteration. Catalina was Henry’s grandmother who taught him to play the guitar’s name. Daphne got Donita's last name due to a game of rock paper scissors she won.
Nicknames: Mi Narcisa by Henry, Daffy by her younger siblings (They couldn’t pronounce Daphne); Daphne was never a huge fan of nicknames, preferring to just go by her name
Style/Signature Colors: Daphne prefers bold bright colors, like yellows and pinks, she likes to stand out in a crowd, and will wear whatever is trending at the moment, but her mother dresses her most of the time.
Height: 5’8; Her parents are both tall and she inherited those genes, but she is still slightly shorter than them both
Personality: Daphne is very career and fame oriented, almost to the point of obsession, but she isn’t shallow, often sacrificing for others when they need her help. Daphne is a very sassy girl, and would like you to think she doesn’t care, but it’s actually quite the opposite, with her gauging the reaction to everything she says. She has always been a very funny person, with a kind of dry humor, something she becomes known for on her social medias. Daphne is a very kind and ambitious person, but she is also very insecure about herself, often believing everyone hates her, even with evidence to the contrary.
Family Relationships: Daphne, Dabio, and Donita are like three peas in a pod. As Daphne has grown older, they have only gotten closer, and Daphne views Donita and Dabio as her greatest inspirations to become a success story. Daphne’s father has pulled back from her a lot as she’s grown up, but she is determined to try and fix their relationship, if not for her sake, for the sake of her half-siblings. Daphne loves her half-siblings, and although there is a large age gap, she calls and texts them as often as she can, and is as enamored with them as they are with her. Allison, Daphne’s stepmom, hates her and has never had a meaningful conversation with her, so Daphne has begun to pull away from that toxic relationship, in favor of better ones.
Love Intrests/Future Family: Daphne had a couple boyfriends in high school, nothing serious, always ending after a couple weeks/months, but she has always been looking for ‘the one’. She began to question if they even existed, after seeing people around her fall in love so quickly, and and questioned if she was even worthy of someone’s unconditional love. She eventually finds that in Vallen Varmitech, Zach and Violet’s youngest male child. (Ill add how they met at a later date, @jokerislandgirl32, if you have any ideas hmu)
Career and Talents: Daphne has been focused on becoming famous her entire life, eventually finding it through being an online influencer. As a result, her grades in school, while okay, were never as high as they should have been, with her really struggling in math and sciences, barely passing those classes. The only reason she passed was through extensive tutoring by Zach and Vera. Daphne also tried to become a musician like her father, to quickly realize she had no talent musically despite her best efforts, a big insecurity and disconnect from her father.
A few years after high school, Daphne is invited to join a content creation house (Think Hype House etc) which she accepts the invitation. It is here where Daphne finally gets the worldwide fame and recognition she always craved. She stayed there for a couple years, before leaving and going on a trip to Greece to try and meet her grandparents and uncles. It is in Greece where Daphne realizes she doesn’t like where her content has gone, with the quality decreasing significantly from when she first started, and started to return to her roots of fashion and travel, with a bit of comedy skits mixed in. Daphne finds comfort in her new life as a superstar, and began to branch out and started her own PR company that she owns and operates.
Fun Facts:
Daphne’s favorite holidays are Fourth of July and New Years because she is udderly obsessed with fireworks
Her diet consists of almost anything, with an emphasis on sustainable sourcing of her meat, with a notable exception of shellfish and nuts, as she is deathly allergic to them both. She is a notorious picky eater though, making mealtimes difficult at times.
Daphne loves country and latin pop music, with her favorites being Shakira, Bad Bunny, Morgan Wallen, and Luke Combs, but she will listen to almost anything; she isn’t picky about music at all.
Daphne loves all nature except for bugs. She will scream when she sees any type of bugs (incuding moths and butterflies) and will run in the opposite direction. Other than bugs though, Daphne is down to hang out in nature, loving to take pictures of all the interesting wildlife. Her favorite animals are starfish and flamingos
Through her family and travels, Daphne has become fluent in Greek, Spanish and French in addition to English, a fact she will brag about to anybody who will listen
As a child, she didn’t watch much traditional tv, opting to watch reality tv, like The Real Housewives and Love Island, which her parents agreed to due to lack of knowledge of what they were. Her favorite movies though was the Barbie franchise, watching all of the movies and shows religiously, almost memorizing parts of them. She wanted to be Barbie so badly as a child, dressing like her for 5 Halloweens in a row.
Donita Donata didn’t need anybody’s help, especially not some annoying tech billionaire who probably never worked hard at anything, she just happened to meet. So why couldn’t she stop thinking about the conversation they had the night before? He seemed genuinely interested in her designs and introduced her to some of his clients, meaning for the first time since she moved to America, she had clients. Donita was still grappling with her opinion on Zach, when she walks into her cheap apartment and sees none other than Zachary Varmitech himself and about 5 Zach-bots, milling around. Zach somehow managed to convince her to accept a loan from him to start her empire, in exchange for her help in defeating the ‘Wild Ratts’, two brothers Donita had occasionally seen on the news. Donita reluctantly agreed and the two got to work.
Over the years, Zach and Donita became closer and closer, with Donita and Zach viewing themselves as business partners and very close friends. Donita was there for all of Zach’s biggest achievements. She had designed and sew Violet’s wedding dress, handmade clothing for Zach’s children, and was always there to listen to Zach, even when he was whining to her. Therefore, Zach couldn’t understand why he was seeing a picture of Donita and Henry, a man he is convinced won’t last and isn’t good for her, outside a courthouse in Vegas. He was always the impulsive one with Donita and Violet talking him out of his craziest schemes, and now he’s finding out that his sister friend and business partner got eloped in Vegas without even telling him, talk about hypocritical. He was shocked, hurt and wondered about why they were moving so quickly.
Once Zach found out about Daphne, he understood why they got married so quickly, but was still upset he missed their wedding. Once Daphne was born, Zach and Violet were quickly enamored with her, insisting on buying way too many toys for her. But Zach never was able to warm up to Henry, even at his wife’s insistence to at least pretend to like him. When Donita’s marriage began to fall apart, Zach tried to get her to ask for a divorce everytime he saw her, much to Donita’s horror and annoyance. Right when Zach decided to give up, Donita told him she was going to get divorced, and asked him for a good lawyer.
Zach knew that Donita deserved and still deserves better than Henry. He wants her to find a love like he has with Violet, but is content with her being happy and single alone. He is eternally grateful to Donita for all she has done for him, and the bond she has established with his children, something that makes his heart swell. All he ever wanted was for her to be happy and if that was being single, he was fine with that. Besides, Donita Donata didn’t need anybody’s help.
