Theory (?)/ Headcanon about Oswald Cobblepot (Gotham Ver.):
Hear me out:
Oswald is probably of German-Dutch descend!
I mean his mother is literally called “Gertrude Kapelput” (and on her grave, her German and not the anglofied version of her name was written). Furthermore it could even be that Oswald is full on half-German, considering his mother’s strong accent and in his hallucination during his therapy with Doctor Strange his mother said “Liebchen” (Darling).
And his father’s name is “Elijah van Dahl” and his grandfather’s name was “Manfred”, which is a strong hint to a Dutch heritage.
[Maybe this was already obvious and I actually didn’t discover anything new, but as a German myself it was fun to point out! ^_^]
