LEONISCAREFUL first time in a group exhibition during Amsterdam Pride in Zandvoort
This coming Monday August 1, 2022 there will be an official opening where several unique hand made visuals by Amsterdam and Amsterdam GOS area artist and think tank collective will debut with thought provoking images that present an alternative reality in Zandvoort, a beach resort near Amsterdam.
In the grand scheme of things, in the race and rage against and alongside the machine, the information that reaches us has become trivial and contrived. How do we deal with matters of place and time amd circumsstancial changes of human behaviour, their appearance and surroundings and the active reactiveness of it all. Five works by Leon Mussche, medium and initiator of LEONISCAREFUL will be shown alongside work by Soek Zwamborn and other artists.
The exhibition will be held during the course of this year's Amsterdam Pride gay pride and LGBTQ events, that will culminate in the annual boat canal parade on Saturday August 5 in the centre of Amsterdam.

What it is about:Â Bounty hunters Dutch (Hannah John Kamen) and John Jaqobis (Aaron Ashmore) are the best Killjoys working at their side of the galaxy. But a warrant involving Johnâs brother, Dâavin (Luke Macfarlane), lead them to new adventures.
Why you should watch it:Â Killjoys, contrary to what the name might suggest, is just so much fun. Killjoys never take themselves too seriously, but they never, ever insult your intelligence. Itâs just the perfect blend of action, humor, crazy stories, and great characters.
No kidding, Dutch is my favorite female character in TV, ever. Sheâs the baddest of all badassesâand nobody is gonna argue her for that. Sheâs strong and tough and soft in the way that I rarely see from other badass female characters.
Her relationship with John is also one of my favorites. They have extremely strong bond as working partners, which serves as the heart of the show. Their relationship is platonic, but extremely warm. Also, John is a badass nerd, so I automatically like him anyway.
Also, set in a somewhat far future, the worldbuilding in Killjoys is amazing. The world feels otherwordly, worn, and lived-inâand most importantly, alive. Believe me, sexy monks is a thing in Killjoys, but they absolutely don't feel out of place. Interplanetary politics, space monk, warlord bartender, killer haremâall of it are in Killjoys, and they all make excellent ingredients to make entertaining stories.
Who should watch it:Â Anyone who wants fun TV with badass characters! And obviously, sci-fi/space opera fans who yearns for something fresh.
Where you should start: Honestly I think youâre gonna be fine watching any episode because theyâre gonna be so much fun you wouldnât mind if you donât understand a few things, but like anything worth watching, for best experience start from the first episode for the characters. I guarantee you wonât regret it.
Status:Â Season 3 ongoing.

I was surprised to not see Dutch breakfast anywhere on here, given that one of the most common Dutch breakfast foods is literally sprinkles on buttered toast.
(Itâs called hagelslag. I usually have the chocolate kind.)
seriously. chocolate sprinkles.
Breakfast Across the Globe
Yeah my Greek family always says âclose the lightsâ or âshut the lightsâ instead of âturn off the lightsâ and Iâve been hearing that since I was little so it honestly sounds perfectly normal to me lol.
In terms of my own blunders:Â
for some reason my brain likes French articles (le, la, les) better than any others, so I have this weird thing where I keep trying to use French articles when speaking English or Greek.Â
random everyday words that get used a lot, like hello and good morning and thank you, are very easy to mix up for some reason. Sometimes I say âmerci!â without even thinking about it in an English-speaking environment or I have to consciously stop myself from saying âγΔÎčα ÏαÏ!â (hello) to some poor random friend who will have no idea what Iâm saying...
English is my first and most fluent language, but there are random words that I learned in greek or french first, and it just sounds really weird to me to say them in English. The most egregious example of this is the word chamomile, like chamomile tea. Saying kam-oh-meel sounds so utterly weird to me that I actually have to pause before I say it out loud in english. The greek word for it is ÏÎ±ÎŒÎżÎŒÎ·Î»Îč, pronounced sort of like hah-moh-mee-lee (chamomili). It makes no sense if I try to use the greek pronunciation in the middle of an english sentence, but saying it in english sounds so odd that I sometimes just avoid the word.Â
when I forget the french word for something so I switch to english to try and explain to someone who speaks french but knows a little english and we puzzle it out together
there was one time I was trying to ask someone how to say âpleaseâ in italian except for some reason I forgot the word please and could only remember it in french and greek (sâil vous plait and ÏαÏαÎșαλο, respectively) so I was standing there for a few moments like a nitwit while I tried to remember how to say please in English
On occasion, my Opa will be speaking Dutch to another of our Dutch-speaking family members, then turn to me and start jabbering to me in Dutch, conveniently forgetting that the extent of my Dutch knowledge is like, ten words. (It was particularly funny one time when he did this to my mother, who, being from the Greek side of the family, has absolutely no reason to know any Dutch.)
Also I am strongly reminded of this hilarious post which I originally encountered on @space-australians

Yall know the mission "My Last Boy"? Yeah the one where Dutch sends a bunch of the native Americans to their deaths, the one where Arthur leads Dutch to the money, the one where Arthur gets steam blown in the face, where Dutch leaves him and he would have died if it wasn't for Eagle Flies? Yeah that one. Arthur isn't paid anything for that mission.
Instead we are given a little message saying "the other half is split between the gang members who worked the job" meaning Dutch does not think Arthur contributed in that mission. He killed all those folk, he fought, he almost died and he showed Dutch the location of the money, yet he didn't get anything because he didn't work it apparently.
A new destination with new possibilities! Now we have reached to the next city in our interrailing escapes - Amsterdam! Which is the Netherlands largest city by inhabitants, hence Haag is their real capital city. Amsterdam is well known for its culture and flourish of museums such as van-Gogh museum, Anne Frank house, Rijksmuseum and Rembrandt museum. Nevertheless, we want to fulfill this destination with the most experiential and authentic accommodations, bars, cafes, restaurants and activities.
So, have you ever wondering why the Netherlands is also called holland and why the people is called Dutch? Well in Old English dutch meant nation or people, which also explains why Germany is called Deutschland in German. In the early 1500s, parts of Germany and the Netherlands, along with Belgium and Luxembourg, were all part of the Holy Roman Empire. And over time, English-speaking people used the word Dutch to describe the people from both the Netherlands and Germany. Hence, they specifically phrased High Dutch, referring to people from the mountainous area of what now is southern Germany. Low Dutch referred to people from the more flatter lands, what now is the Netherlands. The Netherlands was back then used to describe people from the low-lying (nether) region (land). The term was spread and widely used in the whole Europe, and when they became a separate and formal country in 1815, they became the Kingdom of the Netherlands. However, the word Holland literally meant wood-land in Old English and originally referred to people that were from the northern region of the Netherlands, and over time it came to apply to the entire country. Now you have some background knowledge to impress the Dutch with when you are in Amsterdam! Stay tuned for hostel, bar, restaurant and activity tips and tricks!
as a person with Dutch as their native language,
I cannot read Vader in the English way, I always read it in the Dutch way (in Dutch, vader means father), and in some Anakin redemption fics it can be soooo annoying! especially if it's a fic where Luke almost wants to call Vader his father, it feels like he already does!
