Living in a world that’s abandoned you,
You sit in the shadows,
They say, “You’re anti-social.”
I tell you, “They don’t understand you!”
They say, “You’ll get over it.”
But it’s really something you just can’t,
They’ll tell you that they know what you’ve been through,
But they will NEVER know your pain!
You’re in the abyss where nobody can reach you,
But I tell you, “I’m right there with you.”
“I was there before.”
Some can & have escaped this void,
You say, “You’re one of those who were lucky.”
“But most aren’t so lucky.”
You say, “I’m one of those who weren’t so lucky.”
“I got the short end of the stick.”
You try to wear a mask of normality to hide,
But the sorrow,
The humiliation,
The misery was seeping out the edges,
You’re painted smile would fade the more you’d wear it,
The doctor may say, “You have the option to…”
Or “These options are…”
But you don’t!
This feeling wasn’t your choice,
The world forced it on you,
They shoved it down your throat with all their hate & lies,
They did this to you,
You didn’t do this to yourself,
Those who think they know will say, “It’ll be over soon!”
That may be true for some of them,
But not for all,
Not for YOU,
I say, “There are those who’re in the pit with you too.”
The only one who may know is you!
After all,
How could your own mind not know?
How could you not trust yourself?
They may not have sunk in further,
Or they could be far deeper then you,
But they may truly know your pain and sorrows,
Just because you think you’re alone doesn’t mean it has to be like that,
Your mask won’t hide you from someone who’s been there too!
You said to me years ago, “I trust you!”
So?
Won’t you give me the key?
To the shattered heart and withered soul you locked away,
We can fix it,
You’ll mend it,
Don’t you see?
But there’s one thing you must NEVER in your life forget,
Life will always,
Always get worse before it gets better!
And you can’t be selfish!
You can’t take the easy way out and think there won’t be consequences,
It WILL affect those around you,
You shouldn’t force your pain on them just to make yourself feel better,
I was always there for you when I saw the bruises and bandages,
Your freedom & eternal happiness isn’t worth someone else feel the way you do,
But you can’t always think the risky or easy way won’t backfire at some point,
You’re so much better then that!
So?
Don’t let it control the way your life is lived,
You must take control of it!
Don’t lose hope in yourself or the world,
You only get one life,
Not the nine a cat has!
So don’t be foolish & live your life!
I was able to climb out of the pit,
I know you can too.
Hold onto hope!
Free wings glide through somber wood,
Gray sailing blurs whisk away loose leaves,
Red and Orange fuming with a burning love for the swift, twisting winds,
Soft aqua flows like a spring river,
Warm yet bitter gray darts between raised roots,
Gentle gaze surveys Three - Six - Four new lives under soft shells,
Soft Ambrosia flickering draws curious eyes,
The elder ran tender talons across the fragile eggs,
“A Heart of Forra, Ambrosia -
Master of SpellCraft, Caslia -
Guardian of Souls, Wisp -
Wind dancer, Sorlon -
Queen of Waves, Avelle -
A new age Artist, Vex” Her voice echoed.
“Lyvern, Daisy, Jasmin & Savana -
Watchers of Natural Life” Cood a voice as smooth as an evening breeze.
“Velnix, Azollen & Tyselle -
Riders of Sky & Flame!” Boomed a voice like a raging blaze.
Only a few moons till they explore their new world,
New hope for an expanding race,
Thought to be long extinct,
A rising Shadow!
I was born…
In a messed up world,
When I was four my parents basically forgot about me.
When they finally noticed me again…
They sent me away, to Ms. Indie’s, for the summer.
Betrayal?
It really felt like it.
My dads said ‘It’s too dangerous to stay home this summer!’
Wha’d I know? I was Four, I didn’t understand.
I felt like I did somethin’ Wrong...
But... It wasn’t so bad.
My first day there we ‘ad my Fifth Birthday Party,
We also celebrated another boy’s B-Day, Lotus.
He turned Three the week before,
But ‘is Dads were too busy to through ‘im a party.
I thought he was weird,
He’d follow me, everywhere, for the first week!
A few days later, I woke on the couch...
Only to find ‘im sleeping on me!
I wanted to yell, scream an’ push ‘im off me,
But...
Somethin’ tol’ me to go back to sleep,
I did.
Somethin’ tol’ me to give ‘im a chance,
I did.
At the end of the second week i was always playing with him,
I tried not to be rough with ‘im like I was wit’ the others I grew up with,
He didn’t seem weird now, just lonely...
A few days into the third week I heard ‘im speak for the first time,
That day, I vowed to always have his back an’ stick close to ‘im!
Now, at 13 an’ ‘im at 11 we are an inseparable team,
He’s an angel to me...
My angel!
We have a closer bond with each other an’ our dads,
We still go to Ms. Indie’s every weekend, or when there’s no school,
He’s my best friend,
The love of my life,
My first kiss,
My first an’ only love!
My missing puzzle piece,
My Brave an’ outgoing polar opposite,
My perfect match.
I can’t imagine what my life’d be like without ‘im,
He’s dragged me into so many adventures I’ve grown to love.
Adventures I now search for,
I’ve experienced more then I would have without you...
My sweet, funny, charming an’ lovable Lotus!
We’ve helped each other grow so much stronger,
He’s my Light,
My Love,
What’s most important to me in life!
Now, I know...
I was born....
To be with him at his side.
We are together,
We’re never alone!
Dear Caster,
I know what it’s like to be alone,
Sometimes I feel like I don’t even know myself.
I’m always stuck behind you,
Always a few steps back.
I wish I saw the world in color,
Everything in my gaze stays gray.
I wish you felt excited.
I hope your pain eases.
I’m trying to catch up.
My life is a constant game of follow the leader.
I want to see the world like you do.
I want to see the world beside you.
I cannot stand the darkness,
I can stand the repetition.
I want to go where you want to take me.
I will always follow you, Caster.
Love, your Shadow
Dear Shadow,
Do you know what it’s like to be alone?
Wonder what it’s like to have someone that’ll know you better then you know yourself?
Do you have someone like that, Shadow?
Have you wondered what it’s like to not always be stuck behind someone?
Do you see the world in Black and White?
Or is it all a Gray indifference?
Do you wonder what it’s like to follow someone who is loud & exciting?
Rather then someone as plain & quiet as I?
Do you like always being a few steps behind me?
Have you wondered what it’s like to be the one who’s leading rather then just following?
Do you like the world I show you?
Have you ever wanted to see a part of the world I can’t take you to?
Do you like being in the darkness?
Do I ever bore you with the day to day repetition?
Are you really sure you want to stay with someone who can’t let you lead?
Thank you for always following me, Shadow!
Love, your Caster
White as far as the eye could see,
Cold scales & unheard cries,
A world with nothing yet never alone,
Sorrow & joy,
Silent consoling,
A deep understanding only one’s self known,
2 as 1,
An almost endless void with almost no life,
The living - the forgotten - the unknown,
Gray wings slide into her lap,
An elder of ancient wars,
One who can share the pain & sorrows,
Soft words of understanding,
“You’re not really alone!” & You’ll never be truly alone!” are softly purred,
Waiting in the white,
An empty world - yet Never alone.
Gray wings sweep the clouds,
One of Ever-burning Blaze,
One of Traditional Waves,
One of Neutral Grace,
An Elder of the Ancient Past,
Coal - Amber - Silver,
A Huntress of raging Embers,
A guardian of the Sky & Waves,
Riding the Tail-Winds all Day long,
A Neutral mind of long past wars,
A Companion - A Ruler - A Veteran,
The Old - The Fighter - The Young,
Those as important as the past - the present - the Future,
Inter-twining Fates,
Long awaited reunions to come,
Wings sweep wisps of clouds,
Wings to ride the vast waves,
Wings to scorch the land,
Eyes to see what’s to come.
A light storm hangs above the forest,
A soft buzz of animals lifts the air’s stillness,
The small clearing sits with uncompared beauty,
The Imperial grace of the Elder’s statues sat dormant,
10 stone giants glistened with little dew drops,
The same place that was once host to lavish parties,
Pale Terra slowly over-took the relics,
Empty eyes of old comrades always watched the ever-changing landscape,
Warm air flows like soft breaths,
Sparrows - Jays - Cardinals - Finches & Doves,
They fly like racers between the trees,
Silence fills the surrounding wood as rain pours heavier,
Careful hands run over cracked stone,
One of the few guests seen in millennia,
Light steps circle around the tarnished pedestals,
Jewel eyed never expecting to have company again,
Knowing & respectful gaze surveys yet sparkles with wonder,
The urge to be heard after centuries,
Now will always be seen,
By any & all,
By him or her or themselves,
To see on their own,
Well known to all - to none - to the past & future,
Good nor evil can make their memory sway,
From every room in every land they were once known,
Tis only in legend & myth of their deeds now,
The silent watchers of creation itself,
That of Light & Life,
Of Hidden Shadows & the Afterlife they stand,
Those of the beckoning Winds,
The Fathers of the Terra & Sea,
The Mothers of Magical mystery & Crystalline beauty,
A hidden Flame burning in silent eyes,
Watching the Celestial skies & Eon waves,
They watch as what they made expands,
Always quiet with unspoken thoughts,
The storm ebbs as winds chime & swirl,
Another blissful evening to come.
“Misery” is a thing with scales -
It glides through the mind -
And silence says a thousand words -
And is always there - quietly waiting -
And withers - in the Stillness - quiet nothingness -
And grow maybe in the abyss -
That won’t sway the immense Shadow
That left so few cold -
We’ve seen it in the warmest skies -
And in the most average & plain Lands -
Though - always - on the Core,
They demand a feast - of us.
Poem books sat scattered in the high grass,
He felt the soft flow of the words dance through his hind,
Warm winds swirl through the surrounding meadow,
An endless sea of green & gold as far as the eye could see,
Late summer sun slowly dripped in the cyan sky,
Clouds laced with pink & orange,
A jar of mixed berry lemonade dripped on the small torn red-violet blanket,
Small birds swoop into the high blades,
Soft chirps echo through the vast plain,
A long day of writing disappears with the sun.
Stage lights shine bright,
Notes & beats swirl high,
One, two, three cords hit,
Sharp and repeating tones amplify,
Instruments chime & hum as tunes mix,
His voice echos to their sweet harmony,
He doesn’t hesitate as there’s no note to fix,
Crowds scream, woop and cheer,
They always love what he gives them to hear.
Autumn leaves drift slowly down the hill,
Old trees shade the creaky porch,
Tall green & gold grass sways in the dawn breeze,
Cinnamon sprinkled apple crisps cool on the Espresso table,
The young green eyed skeleton sat by the window,
A mustard sticker being taped onto a bottle
Hot sauce, mayo & orange soda mixed thoroughly inside,
His friend watched with mild confusion,
But went along to see the chaotic result,
Warm wind blew in from the open window,
A soft aroma of the ocean filling the room.
She lay there as still as stone,
Thunder crackles and wind slashes at the walls,
Ice runs down her spine as the storm rolls,
The humid air weighs down on her blankets,
The scent of wet Terra wafts in the window with a suffocatingly warm breeze,
Rain dances and pelts the porch roof,
Thunder echoes quieter as the storm dies down,
The roar of far off generators cuts the silence,
Owls screech as the last sparks of the night storm recedes,
Rain drips off the shutters onto wood,
Wolves & foxes yap in the distance,
The world grow silent as exhaustion takes over.
Sorrowful and saddened eyes begged for redemption,
Screams swirl with roaring thunder,
Sobbed apologies are lost on the howling winds,
Fallen lavender tears mix with pouring rain,
Shrieking cries of betrayal flow like a rushing waterfall,
Words pierced his soul like sharpened blades,
Hatred explodes like an erupting volcano,
The last flicker of love & admiration burnt out like a flame,
Rage spreads like a wildfire,
Plees of “I’m sorry” & “I never wanted this” are lost to deaf ears,
Lightning shatters the sky as the copper chains take over,
Thunder cracks the air as the fight begins,
Two fates left in shards.
The unearthly winds howled outside the lodge, Expansive vines constrict & tug on the high walls, Six hundred years of wear, Beating the odds of it still standing, Trying to outrun the coming storm, Lightning introduces itself in an explosion of glass on the nearby beach, The sound of animals is halved as thunder roars to life, A sight worth seeing if the non-existent residents could show the world, Or any living Soul.
