Since I was in fourth grade I needed glasses. I never told my parents until I was in third grade of highschool

Why I never told my parents? I DO NOT KNOW

I THOUGHT IT WAS NORMAL TO STRUGGLE TO SEE! ALL MY CLASSMATES SAID THEY ALSO STRUGGLED TO SEE AND I THOUGHT EVERYONE WAS STRUGGLING TO SEE!

Turns out it's not normal

So I told my parents that I struggled to see UNTIL I WAS IN THIRD HIGH SCHOOL!!!

I mean, since I was in fourth grade I was about 8 years old and in third grade I was like 14!!!

I mean, my dumb ass didn't tell my parents that I had been struggling to see for YEARS!

no one talks about how annoying it is to have glasses and headphones on...

Like I have some new headphones (yay, I bought some Bose, such a great noise cancelling !), but I'm also starting to wear my glasses all the time (the right thing to do you could tell me and... yeah, absolutely). And so now, I have to chose between not having headaches because of noise around me, or having headaches because my glasses !! are pushing into my head when I'm wearing my headphones... Life sucks sometimes...

But the headphones are really great, I do recommend them to anyone who absolutely hates having noise around them while listening to music ! and they are really, really comfy.

does anyone have a habit of lifting your glasses even when they're off? I randomly lift my "glasses" and then I realize I'm not wearing them. like,are the ghosts of the flies I k1ll3d on my nose bridge to trick me?? sorry for asking this I am highly dehydrated.

My heart hurts so to distract myself Imma tell you why vision tests are stupid.

Ok so I recently got my learners permit so I had to take a vision test but that one wasn’t bad. But it made me think about how much bullshit vision tests are.

When you take a vision test and they have you do your eyes separately but you have to read the same line?

Idk about other people but I already memorized what the line says because the doctor always makes me read with my dominant eye first, so I know what the line says even if I can’t see it clearly?!?

And I tried to convey this to my doctor and she was like well then you can read it, which no?!?

So now I have a lighter prescription than I used to and I can’t see well for shit.

This is what you would call a "unique" and "dark" sense of fashion for her.

me: i bet ARTEMIS doesn't eat his veggies, though

me: he probably does. Minerva doesn't because her dad won't force her. Or maybe she doesn't actually need glasses, and they're for looking even smarter. Happy?

me: OR Artemis needs glasses, and he's invented some solution so he doesn't have to wear anything like glasses or contacts. Or maybe he is wearing special contacts that-

I love Marry My Husband and all but the one thing I don't like about it is that the mc and the male lead get's told that they look handsome/pretty without their glasses, and pisses me off.

Like they were ugly with their glasses and that's a really hurtful cliche or stereotype, as a person with glasses, this stereotype made me insecure all my life. Like, that I'm ugly with my glasses and people who wear glasses are ugly, their not pretty.

Heck, the mc and the male lead didn't even look that bad, they just need better looking glasses in my opinion.

But in all honesty, it's not like only Marry My Husband is the only one who does this stereotype, a lot of webtoons, anime, manga, tv shows, movies and etc. does this a lot. And I am tired of this shit, the only movie that I saw that doesn't do this is with the Cloudy Chance of Meatball.

One of the main character (i forgot her name, so let's call her blondie) blondie is a person who wears glasses ever since she was a child but now wears contact lenses but when the flin? Or flyn? idk, told her that she looks pretty when she has her glasses on, and that made me really happy.

And I know there are a lot of shows, webtoon, anime and etc, don't do this and have a character who wears glasses, but most of the time, some of these out right tell us that these people are already handsome/beautiful, and there are characters who wear glasses that aren't told by the others that they are handsome/beautiful.

But I just want one show to atleast have a romance where the MC wears glasses, and instead of taking them off and suddenly their all pretty, the MC should just get better glasses the next time they are in need of a change of lenses. Or not, and just let them wear glasses. That would literally be the most beautiful thing ever.

But no, instead we still have people doing this shit.
