can't afford the bag, but I can't stop thinking about it either.
so I drew myself with one

can't afford those moth/butterfly bags, so I just drew myself with one instead
The gothic enbie urge to wear nothing but layered jet black clothing, chunky shoes, and butterfly backpacks

This is my vibe, but all anybody sees is the unicorn and that’s okay
Quick sketch of my newest vampire. Unlike Pierce, October is a classic toxic heartthrob vampire with broody antihero problems, a long, bad history with damsels, and he rides a motorbike. In black leather clothes. Oh, geez.
He and Pierce are blood-feuding rivals.
Well, to be clear, October is out to get Pierce, but Pierce has a bit of a weak spot for people who hate him, as it were, so it's a one-sided relationship. On both sides.
When I say I'm leaving you an inheritance of vampire jewellery, this is what I mean
Feed your vampire before you... frappé... them
Don't like frappuchinos? Have a juice box
I have also made fang rings, bat earrings, and a muscle bunny armour pendant. Oh, can't forget the nosferatu bag. I think being subtle about my preferences might not be my strong suit.
Aggressive, gothic-scenery music is what's keeping me going right now.
Have a London after Midnight cat whacking at you with a guitar. It's part of a drawing collage I failed to finish, but funnily enough, now that I'm in a bad mood, I want to pick it up again. Do you want to see the whole thing?
What are your "Oh no, if people I know read this, they'll be concerned," writing projects?
I don't often talk about these original characters, Lolly and Stephen Wargrave, since their story is quite twisted and hard to make into funny posts. Well, I had the urge to cattify them today, and it's sort of funny, so here they are.
These gory weirdos are brainrotting me now, so maybe I'll blab about them again soon.
Pierce, pre-vampire turning, had many vices. Repressed memories, drowned in naïvety and substance abuse, is the darker side to his story.
However, in this latest short and silly (by my standards, at least) chapter, he's all chaos kitten, enjoy it while you can!

(As always, please give me feedback - comment, DM, send asks - I'd love to hear whatever you have to say or ask!)
I never got round to posting photos of my Nosferatu bag, did I? Meet Stephie.
She might be small and look like a sock monkey, but she has a fur collar and a silver heart locket (and mouse minions) just like Count Orlok. Perfect size for keeping my phone safe, and perfect emotional support for ventures outdoors because I can hold her hand when I walk.
(Someone who saw me making Stephie came around the other day and asked me, "Where's the rat?" I didn't bother correcting them. As long as nobody calls her dead baby Yoda, we're fine.)
Blog post: The Freedom to be Grotesque and Gothic Authoresses
"I shall thus give a general answer to the question, so frequently asked me—How I, then a young girl, came to think of, and to dilate upon, so very hideous an idea?"
- Mary Shelley, Introduction to Frankenstein
In the 1831 edition of Frankenstein, Mary Shelley explained how she, as a 19-year-old young woman, wrote a work that shook contemporary intellectuals.
“I didn’t mean anything by it; it’s only flight of fancy,” the writers who defined gothic literature said to a world that was not prepared to accept that women with no formal education were capable of the intellectual prowess woven into these tales of dark, profound, terrifying worlds.
We have long lived in a society that is quick to denounce, demonise and deny the voices that speak in a different tone. Even if you never show it to a single soul, write. Write, because to write dark, terrible things is to accept that they exist inside you without shame.

Unedited post - with a short piece I published years ago - linked above!
Have a sketch of Victor. He features heavily in this new chapter:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/63019435/chapters/162232942
A loud thud came from the forbidden attic, followed by the ear-splitting clanging of silverware falling to the ground. Someone was singing, a fine contralto voice delivering a musical stream of abuses aimed at bread pudding.
Also in this chapter: the mad wife in the attic.
As usual, please do leave feedback if you have any, I would appreciate it greatly!
Today, I worked on my most disturbing writing project that, if illustrated, should look like this:
And then I walked past a mirror and realised that, I kid you not, I looked like this:
Fudging reindeer Christmas pyjama bottoms...
I should rebrand myself before people decide I'm the "last person you'd suspect"-type horror movie villain.
Would YOU pass the vampire certification test?
My name is Amanda, and I listen to Taylor Swift, so I get to make these jokes. Zaida is a real name for a Victorian vampire-witch lady from Aylmer Vance and the Vampire.
As much as I adore gamourous vamp fashion, @vladimirsangel and I were talking about how we would be a danger to the public if we wore anything fancy. I would wreck a white tuxedo with vampiric speed, but at least it won't be a health hazard.
Internet not working, can't upload drawings, so reblog. I'm moving my writing excerpts to this blog, since the other one is for art now
💀💀💀 Three for halloween. Though no pressure :) yay!
Scene: L'Ôpéra des Vampires, the Midnight Summer's Masque. (I'm hungover from rereading Phantom of the Opera and had to write this slightly fanfiction-ish section)
Will give you the bits for the other two skulls soon! Opinions and advice welcome, I don't bite and Pierce doesn't either without permission!Send '💀' in my asks, and I'll post a piece of my writing
Vampire and his partner run into vampire hunters. Cleopatra was a literature student. She knows vampire literary symbolism well.
Crew of Light live reaction:
From my novel in progress, which is basically fanfiction of all my favourite gothic literature Frankensteined into one story.
Very nice, Pierce, but maybe don't flash your, ah, ankles. Dear Aurik is by @vladimirsangel
Originally, I only planned a doodle of smol Pierce next to Aurik because a midnight conversation turned from the division of chores in the Dracula household to vampire height difference. But it's been a weird week, and I kept adding to the sketches to unwind. I hope my 'stress art' makes some people happy, too.
On vamp fashion: Pierce's dressing gown is based on Klimt's The Kiss, reference to the Klimt-inspired robe in Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992). Aurik is NOT a brat; he probably borrowed the t-shirt from Vlad. His outfit is a combination of this Goth one and his Ugg boots.
I made a Nosferatu. And gave her the coolest boots my mind can concieve of. What should I name her? Give me your most unhinged ideas.
(This is where the tin foil in my kitchen goes. The thumb is full of the stuff.)
More felting crafts: @vladimirsangel 's OC Innocent and his vampire chicken. (I do make things other than little menaces. I swear.)
(Justice for Vampire Teddy! Look at the poor little chap.)
Red isn't the colour for breaking and entering.
You expect us to know what to say to strangers?
Right, gang?
In answer to urgent questions, those are my ideas for a good summoning, I mean, Christmas party. Passing the mic to @blackforrestpunk and @vladimirsangel - I insist that I not be entirely culpable for this.
It started out as a chicken joke, and then Aiden decided it deserves a place in my printable Christmas Advent, so now it seems doomed to be a running gag. The lil summoners are as follows: batty ears is Aurik, Vlad's Nosferatu, masked cat is Aiden's Punk Erik and the dummy in the bowtie is my Pierce.
Drawn with one brush (two if we count the sketch), one blending brush, and ten(ish) colours. The blending brush is my best friend when it comes to digital art. Pierce looked like a Muppet in makeup before blending.
I had more to say about the process, but I feel the need to go play dead for a while, so I'll leave it at that. If there's any you want to know, let me know, I'll be in my coffin.
(Repost because the video wouldn't load)
Sorry for the sketchiness, I've already broken my vow of art abstinence once today and was cursed with creating yet ANOTHER accidental vampire thirst trap, so please accept this offering until I can safely draw again.
This artist is officially my rival now - reference to Chapter 7, part 6 and 7 of their brilliant comic!
The Phantom has spoken. Do it or risk the chandelier.
Starved (Afraid)
Astarion is having very fun time :')
Hello everyone!
I am so sorry for the delay. I’ve been busy but am finally able to announce Black Midsummers Day!
This is a day that takes places this month on midwinter (aka - the winter solstice, 21st). I decided on a day, not a week (yet—the week will be in June) due to the close proximity of the event. But don’t worry—it’s an easy event.
Who is this event open to? Black people.
What is this event about?
Black Midsummers Day is an event to celebrate black people in sub and alternative genres that we are usually kept out of . Genres such as classical, goth, dark academia, vampires, fantasy, period, history, literature, etc.
How to participate:
It is simple and there are so many ways. The first way, is to post a selfie of yourself dressed in or in the aesthetics of anything mentioned above. But it’s totally fine if you don’t want to show your face! Do you write poetry, draw anything related to the genres above, make mood boards, aesthetics, etc., post that and that’s fine too. Also, do you sing anything relate above, play instruments, etc? Post that too?
Just make sure you are a.) black and b.) either @ this blog or use #blackmidsummers when you post!
This is supposed to be a fun event. As a black person myself who loves things like period drama, fantasy, alt cultures, etc., I never felt that we got to see ourselves in such areas. Especially black women and women aligned folks. That said, I want to represent us in all of your beauty.
If you aren’t black—you cannot partake but you are 100% free to share and boost this post and any posts related to it!
Being plus size AND goth AND a Christian is probably one of the biggest inconveniences I have ever subjected myself to.
Finding clothes as a plus size person on its own is one thing, but finding my style in my size while also trying to stay away from satanic and pagan symbols is even harder.
Does anyone know of any goth sites that are good about not sticking a satanic cross or a pentacle/pentagram on literally everything while also having a decent selection of plus sizes?
A girl is in NEED.
if it helps, I'm nonhuman (therian, otherkin), an age regressor, furry, exploring gyaru and Lolita lifestyles/makeup, scenekid, and have like a stupid amount of special interests
thank you :3
