I need to know, has anyone come up with a clever nickname for the jontim ship? For jonmartin we have teaholding and jmart, for daisybasira we have daisira (could use some work honestly), and with melgeorgie we have wtgfs (what the girlfriends). Just to name a few examples.

Cry-laughing I really don't like the idea of calling them Jim

I cannot stop referring to JonTim (like the ship) as Jim in my head. Take Jon, take Tim, put ‘em together and BAM! whole new guy: ✨Jim✨. I actually think it’s kind of fucked up that this isn’t what we call the ship, and so I refuse to ship “JonTim” out of spite. I also think there should be more time travel fics centered around Tim, because then the time travel would be Tim(e) travel. I would like to make it clear that as I write this, I am stone cold sober.

And something that I’m thinking about allot is the “I see you” line, the way it’s used as an anchor. You have the obvious and wel known season 4 lonely “I see you, Jon” but I want to talk about the one in season 3

Because I lost my absolute marbles hearing that line in the season 3 finale. It is Jon suddenly being able to anchor himself and recognising the situation around him, seeing through the stranger.

But the most import part, is how it relates to Tim. Tim has previously stated that he can only be sure Jon is real. He doesn’t trust anyone because anyone could be a stranger, but Jon, Jon is real to him, he knows Jon can’t just be magically replaced.. that’s Tim’s anchor, Jon.

This is THEIR “I see you” moment.

Jon helps Tim Anchor himself which makes him able to recognise the situation and save everyone.

The phrase “I see you” is used in every season finale now expect season 5 (I think?). I don’t know if I’ve fully figured out what that narrative through line means (especially in the case of Sasha) but god is it intresting. Especially cus it’s every member of the original crew that gets the line in some way

Yknow what I'm thinking of actually? I'm thinking of an au where Tim survives the Unknowing and becomes an avatar of the Desolation. But he doesn't come back to the Archives or the Institute. He's free, so why would he? No longer marked by the Eye. I do imagine him sitting by Jon in the hospital whenever someone wasn't there, leaving just in time to never be spotted. Being just out of sight to hear Jon wake up, to hear how devastated he is at the knews everyone thinks he's dead. But he still doesn't show his face. Because he's earned a break, time to figure out where he's going next and what he's going to do. So he does. Can't go back to his flat, can't go back to the Institute, so where does he go? [I'm so glad you asked] He goes to Sasha's old flat. One of the firm memories he has of her is where she lived, so he goes there. It's empty, seems like it has been since she died. He lives there for the duration if season 4, getting used to his new life, figuring out what it means for him. And deciding how(/if) he's going to reconnect.

And then the Eyepocalypse happens. And he's thrown into a wasteland of chaos and fear, but it can't hurt him. Because he's part of it now. He decides to set out to find Jon. Because if anyone knows what's going on, it's him.

I just wanted to say if anyone says that jontim's shipname should be jim I will personally throw you off of a rollercoaster. (Kidding. But please that is a terrible name lol)
