Hard launching my new marauders ship I pulled out of the darkest pit of my mind whilst bored in a lecture
@vulcajes credit for coming up the new and improvised ship name đ¸đ
ok ok op I can see the vision oml
When Lucius Malfoy is arrested in 1996 a team of aurors is sent to his home to search through his possession. Perhaps the most surprising find isnât linked to the Dark Arts at all, but rather the aunt of the chosen one, Petunia Dursley, all taken throughout the year 1979.
A series of photographs were discovered in a hidden compartment in the desk in his office. Though the aurors arenât sure if theyâre significant at all theyâve been taken back to the Ministry as evidence nonetheless. Maybe one day their existence will be explained, but for now itâs a mystery why so many flattering depictions of Lily Evanâs muggle sister have been hidden away in Malfoy Manor.
@vulcajes
While I cannot say I like these two, I donât mind them as much as one would think. Partially, because both really have no substance to dislike; yes, they are cruel, greedy, elitist, and quite a few horrible other things but really all they are, is the greatest example of snowflakes in the wizarding world
âwah.....some person with no history of magic is more skilled than meâ
âwah....those with power are trying to help those withoutâ
âwah....people donât think my son is as great as I thinkâ
on and on and onÂ
Regardless of their complete lack of character and spine, there were a few things I enjoyed. For starters, they really were perfect for each other. True, they needed to be assisted in every aspect of their lives, but they both fawned of their son in separate ways, both held strong beliefs with no interest in taking any related action (my belief about Lucius joining the Death Eaters was because it was the cool thing to do at the time), and both were just blinded by ego and wealth. They are just a morally gross version of Arthur and Molly, they support each other completely in being boringly horrible.Â
Related to their lack of character, I do enjoy snowflake Lucius as he loses his place in the world and the realistic outcomes he and Peter Pettigrew experience by just being followers, but there are different levels with Narcissa. In a small level, it is funny to see how similar she is to everyone else as, as a side character, we see typical family relationships as she has with her sister, husband and son. And itâs just nice to get that background and reminder.Â
More telling, unlike Lucius who I think was not only too stupid to see why Voldermort brought Draco into the Death Eaters but also would gladly use Draco just to gain status, I have no doubt that Narcissa would sacrifice herself for her son just as Lily had. And I know Iâm right because she already did. Similar to Dracoâs questions of morality and evil, while she may have had more alignment with the beliefs of the Death Eaters she had more strength than Draco in knowing and fighting for what truly was most important to her. Considering both put each other over the stupidity of murdering muggles and Death Eaters itâs upsetting, annoying and that dumb-poetic of just TALK to each other and they really could have avoided all this mess. Leave Lucius behind, heâs the weakest link and really it didnât seem that either would be too heartbroken over it. I mean you guys are already weak, why not just be weak for the good guys. But whatever.Â
I do enjoy these two, mostly just for a laugh, but also for the reminder that there is no black and white, and that we all need to remember to look past the surface
There are quite a few things that come to mind when I think about this book. First and foremost, is that I recall this is the edition I was reading (whether for the first time or reread I donât know) when I discovered JK Rowling wasnât a man, how I ran back to look at the book and wondered why I thought she must have been from the title, and understood why she wrote her name so as not to be identified and turn others off (oy! how nothing has changed).Â
Next, while I was young at the time I do not know what I anticipated but following the events of their first year we expected Harry, Ron and Hermione to either be dealing with Voldemort again or not--and I love how we got both. While in some ways the fact that they were all included again makes no sense, but again it all does. Harry can speak Parseltongue and therefore gets more information and gets Ron and Hermione involved, Ginny comes from a family with morals and is the exact opposite of the Malfoys and Death Eaters so Lucius trying to frame them, being the coward as he is, all makes sense and while seems a bit stretched is just coincidental. As Minerva McGonagall and Ron later discuss, however, why it is always them? Must just be their fate.Â
Relatedly, we continue to get depth with our main trio: Hermione, Ron and Harry and the wizarding world in general while they continue to grow. While in the previous year Hermione broke some rules, they were only in regards to emergencies (stopping Snape from getting the Sorcerer's Stone, lighting him on fire) or to stop others from breaking rules (stopping Harry from getting in trouble with the dragon). But in her second year she sees breaking the rules as more of a means to an end; even when the end isnât as near or dire. She becomes less rule-obsessed or rigid in this sense and tries weighing the options and looking more at the big picture (both with stealing the ingredients of the Polyjuice Potion and just in making it and knocking out Crabbe and Goyle). With Ron, we learn more about who he really is as we see him interact more with his siblings, with Hermione (my uncle caught onto that one, not me) and learn about how he feels about himself overall even if we donât realize it all in depth at the time. Finally, We also learn more about Harry and, with him, the wizarding world in general; how there is a class system, the downfalls of being a hero or celebrity, what it actually means to be a hero or role-model and many other somewhat small things that create a deeper meaning combined.
Finally, holy hell was this the novel with annoying people; see Myrtle, Dobby and Colin. While Dobby and Colin grew on me, and I believe all of us, they both just wouldnât shut up or listen and you would cringe with Harry as he deals with all their drama. But on both, Harry changed; growing to be broken by Colinâs death in the final battle and of course Dobby, one of his best friends. Both of these characters represented innocence, kindness, friendship, truth, honesty and so many other admirable qualities before even getting to the fact that they risked their lives for others.Â
Myrtle? No, just creepy; I mean she was a younger teenager at the time. Do ghosts get older? Ugh, sorry, no love there.Â
he's got such a crush
selection of draco and his parents moments from deathly hallows bc its think about the malfoys night

take a screenshot; which couple did you get? (I love you all đ)
for the fandom that loves drarry and jegulus, and complains that the female characters (and sapphic ships)âspecifically lily evansâdont get enough love, theres barely any noise for narcissa x lily
the slytherinxgryffindoor, black family drama, foils whos love for their sons saved the wizarding world
black cat, rich girl and academic weapon muggleborn bond over their estranged sibling dynamics and want for a family to protect and love
the tension between present narcissa and snape (especially when she has him form an unbreakable vow to protect her son) when they both wanted lily but fumbled it to protect themselves
the angst when draco comes home complaining about the potter boyâwho, just like in narcissaâs life, lily is hidden within, not in surname but in the eyes and the heart.
the extra weight it puts on the scene where narcissa defies Voldemort in telling him that harry is dead. my son is safe so i will give you the same favour, lily.
both lily and narcissa marrying into families notoriously loud and opposing on the wizengamotâmarrying young to the pretty and popular, but also asshole boys from school
narcissa watching draco complain about how harry is dating the cool jock, and then much later watching her son mourn his dead lover
What if Dron (Draco x Ron) songfic of Justin Bieber's "Anyone"? Or Lucissa or Snily
I'm so mad at people who hate on Cissy because she betrayed Bella for her "useless husband and son". Like, you guys aren't looking at this deeply enough. The emotional/mental capacity of Narcissa. Heck, the entire emotional/mental capacity of the entire Black family and maybe even Lucius. You guys aren't looking into the emotional turmoil Cissy must have been in because she had to choose between family. The angst potential of the entire family of Black and Malfoy is tremendous. The whys and the hows.
Note to self: don't drink water while scrolling through Tumblr, y'all unhinged
Narcissa and Lucius tried to sneak a first-year Severus Snape into Hogsmeade by making him cling to Narcissaâs torso and hide him under her cloak. She claimed she was pregnant to Slughorn before they were about to leave. Severus lost his grip and fell out of her cloak.
âOh,â Narcissa said, âI have given birth.â
âHe looks just like us.â Lucius chimed in.
Snape was not snuck into Hogsmeade.
Marauders era reimagined (part 2)
part 1
xenophilius and lucius ARE BROTHERS ??!????
so that means xeno was a malfoy and took pandoras last nameâŚ
Lucius Malfoy is just the Nazi version of Barbie...
Rodolphus really didn't want to marry any of his cousins. It wasn't that they were unattractive, it was just that he was determined to find a wife himself. It wasn't against family values to force persuade someone into marriage, but no one was stupid enough to marry their daughters off to the Lestranges, knowing how they treated their women.
He liked to believe he knew what he was getting into when he saw Bellatrix wink at him that day. He liked to believe he was satisfied on their wedding day. He was certain to be content when she got her mark. They were kindred spirits.
They were on the same page, but Bellatrix was a Black through and through. Rodolphus hated to admit it, but Bellatrix outdid him in cruelty. Put him to shame.
He didn't think it was possible, but she became worse. She had been decently fine before, but after Azkaban not so much.
He had no clue what it was, but she was more insane. Not once seeing the curse that the mark ended up being. They could've done it by themselves, with no Dark Lord. No one to boss them around. No mark to expose them and ruin their lives.
They were both stuck, but Bellatrix thrived in being stuck.
Don't let this innocent, sweet face fool you. Ted knew a tad too much about danger and the like. No matter how well he dressed, Andromeda knew a rough boy when she saw one. She could relate to terrible parents, he could relate to pretending.
The countryside was a safe haven for them both. Perhaps a city would've been better, to avoid too many questions, with everyone around them being too busy with themselves to spare them a single glace, but the countryside was quiet. Besides, the location was one that would allow them easy access to all their magical needs.
Their daughter, would want more. Expressive as her clothes. Ted embraced whatever danger was ahead, even if he desperately wanted to run from it.
By far the biggest peacock- The biggest conniving, cold, cat-like man she's ever met.
He was perfect.
She and Lucius were very alike, in both how they presented themselves and their beliefs of course.
The only difference was that Narcissa wasn't supposed to be heard. She was raised to be someone's wife, and she made sure to be a great one. Lucius was so full of himself that he wouldn't be able to pick out his own ideas from her's.
This marriage wasn't out of the ambition of being married, but to outdo everyone in her family. Narcissa was determined to be the best. Lucius was determined to have the perfect family.
Draco wasn't the kind to be disowned. Narcissa wasn't the kind to go insane. Narcissa wasn't the kind to make a terrible spectacle of herself. Lucius knew his wife was cunning, those Slytherin traits of theirs went hand in hand. But then again, there was more mystery to her, he felt like. Perhaps it was a Black family trait, to not expose too much of yourself.
Bellatrix has always been a little not alright, but never anything too severe. Most would say she was a bully, but so was Sirius based on whatever stories she heard about him in passing.
Bellatrix didn't get along well with Sirius, but she hoped he would clean himself up soon. He would deny it, but they were very much alike. He could be rehabilitated.
However, that started to change once Andromeda was burnt off. All for that muggle. Bellatrix hoped it was worth it, for Andros' sake. Sirius was burnt off in a blink, and Bella could do nothing but focus on herself.
Then Regulus died. This time it was different. Regulus was her dearest, and most precious baby cousin. Gone just like that.
If Bellatrix didn't get to have her loved ones, then neither did mudbloods. That included anyone that supported them.
Andromeda couldn't stand crazies. If she stayed in this family any longer she would become it.
The constant comparisons. The high expectations. The fake smiles, and high alertness.
She hated it. She could never trust anyone, knowing they were after something. If one couldn't go to Bella, they'd go to Andro. She was the backup plan, and always the backup. 2nd in command. Should anything happen to Bellatrix, Andromeda knew what to do.
Backhanded compliments. Gossiping behind her back. The hateful obsession with muggles. Mudbloods have never done anything to her, so there was no need to hunt them.
Ted wasn't just any old Hufflepuff. If that had truly been the case, she would've married a bloody Macmillan. Ted's kindness was influenced by his survival mode.
His kindness was always genuine, but his eyes were watchful, patient of any slight of hand. A peaceful life would be nice. So nice. She really could just disappear.
Narcissa absolutely had to be seen. She wanted to shine bright too. Unfortunately, she was her mother's daughter. Birthed for her mother to dote on, while Bellatrix and Andromeda were raised to be the perfect heiress'. Narcissa couldn't be the same, but she would show everyone that she was perfect. She would prove it. And prove it she did. She chose her husband wisely, and she played her cards correctly.
Narcissa Black is a clueless blonde? So be it. She would teach others to never underestimate her. Whether it was the personality she presented, or what was on her mind, it shall never be questioned again.
Although it was cruel, she took pride in it. While she missed her sisters dearly, it was great knowing she was the one who survived. Narcissa knew it was stupid to get the mark, and she knew the toxicity given to her was a sign of jealousy. She completed what both of them couldn't do. She handled what both of them couldn't handle.
Any influence she spread was through her husband. Her dearest lover and tool.
This time when family or anyone of importance saw her, there was hope. Admiration. She was seen and not heard, just the way that she liked it.
