First meet lena and kara- AU my adventures with superman
I like to imagine Kara from this universe using her knowledge of Krypton to help people, and what better than putting her to work with Lena Luthor?
I like to think naturally he’s far sighted but in an alien way super-vision way. So without his glasses he can scope out the city from the sky and do Superman work really well. But at a desk job? Noticing all those minuscule details like the chips in your mug, the graphite dust as you write, the colors and molecules humans can’t see must be exhausting. Like adhd issues but with super-vision.
So his glasses dull that down enough to let him focus on his writing work. Just makes things blurry enough to be at a human level.

For the last day of splatoon I present to you

MAWS Clark's New Suit
I've seen a lot of people complain. about it but honestly?
I adore the new suit, it has everything I like in a Superman suit.
The armour like texture that actually looks like it protects him, a regal/elegant look, the finger covering, the golden accents, the semi belt, the longer boots, the shoulder pads (people hate them but i love them) etc.
It represents his growth as a character and i love that too.
I love love the new suit, it is among my favorites ever.
I liked the trunks while they were here but i am kinda glad they are gone.
MOS Pa Kent and MAWS Pa Kent
I find the polar opposite depictions of Jonathan in these stories incredibly fascinating.
MOS Jonathan shields and separates Clark from anything related his heritage, including things like his ship and powers. Encouraging suppresion and caution in Clark.
Actively telling Clark to hide his powers and never use them, scolding him whenever he used them. He is a man terrified of the world taking his son away from him, specially knowing he has no real way of protecting Clark from anything that may seek to harm him. So he encourages him to hide himself and avoid drawing any attention.
He is a more jaded and cynical man, immediately assuming the world would attack and try to kill his son (he ended up being right, which is its own can of worms), would try to rip his miracle child, his star baby away from him.
He only sees a world that would harm the child he so desperately seeks to protect, that child he loves more than anything.
MAWS Jonathan is the complete opposite of his MOS counterpart. He is the one that encouraged Clark to discover himself, to make contact with the ship, to practice his use and control of his powers, even turning that into a game a young Clark could enjoy.
He is aware of the shock Clark´s existence will create but in the end he has faith in humanity seeing Clark for what he truly is, someone who just wants to help others.
He is more optimistic and cheerful, thinking of the best and encouraging other people to do so too.
In MAWS, Martha is the one who is the one who wants to keep Clark away from anything alien, the one that clings to him and wants to keep him hidden.
While Jonathan is cheerful over Clark deciding to go public and help people, Martha is the one that is slightly reluctant (though not to MOS Jonathan´s level, like letting yourself get killed by a tornado because you don´t want your son to expose himself is extreme though somewhat understandable) to let him go, though she eventually gets on board and creates his trunks.
This dicotomy is reflected on Clark´s abilities.
Flight is one of his most characteristic abilities and it often serves as a metaphor for Clark feeling free and accepted, it comes in moments where Clark learns to love and accept himself.
So it is interesting to see how in MAWS it is one of the first he obtains while in MOS it is one of the last ones. Showing the difference in how their settings and enviroments reacted to them.
MAWS is honestly amazing and I am incredibly glad we got this adaptation of the Superman mythos. It is so unique and refreshing. I can´t wait for season 3.
Regardless of its flaws I genuinely love MOS and its depiction of the Kent family. Its different from what we are used to in comics and tv shows, but it offers a unique take on the Kents dealing with Clark´s powers. At the end the day Jonathan is just a father terrified someone will hurt his child and he won´t be able to protect him.
Anyways this ramble has lasted enough, love both pieces of media to bits.
Brainiac’s Fate
Something tells me Brainiac is not going to be fully defeated this season, like he is somehow going to escape while our heroes think they defeated him.
I feel he will return to cause trouble in later seasons, maybe teaming up with another Superman villain or maybe being the creator of Doomsday in MAWS (or something like that)
It is just he had been built as this bigger than life thing yet I am supposed to believe he is going to be defeated in 2 episodes? I doubt it.
Maybe I am wrong, who knows? Only time will tell.
MAWS Clark’s Strenght
This has been a point of contention for a lot of people, with some saying this Clark is incredibly weak, and while he is definitely not the strongest version of Clark out there. 2X8 proved Clark holds back more than he himself even realizes and that his grasp on his own powers is primitive at best.
Even when fighting for his life and giving it “his all” he really wasn’t. He was still holding back.
Because seeing his fight with Kara and then comparing it to Brainiac’s fight with Kara, we can see it was Clark’s mind not his body which made him lose fights.
Brainiac rag dolled Kara during their fight, meanwhile Clark was getting tossed around by Kara and only landing a few hits.
Brainiac’s Feelings
This little scene feels so important to me, because Brainiac jumping into Clark’s body gives us insight into the more subtle aspects of Brainiac’s feelings.
Like for all his intelligence and power he must not be used to having an actual face that can emote, because as we can see in the clip the Eye and eyebrow movement gives the fact that what he is saying is truly genuine away.
The way he gaze softens for a moment as he looks at Kara’s tear stricken face before it closes off and he attacks her.
I got more of Brainiac’s true thoughts and feelings from his face than his words and I think that is amazing storytelling.

It certainly wasn’t on my MAWS S2E8 Bingo card. (And Brainiac unfortunately served in that outfit)

Ending for MAWS
I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade but I feel MAWS’ final villain is going to end up being Doomsday (with an show original backstory), and we all know what Doomsday does.
(It would Also be a nice parallel to S2 E8 name being “The Death of Clark Kent”)

That’s what I think makes him such a good Superman, they make his fear be his own powers. They make the reason for his abilities, be his essential dread and his wish to be normal makes sense with it too.
MAWS clark has me so devastated actually because he’s so kind, he’s so full of love for earth and all the people who care about him and it’s his biggest fear that he is a weapon. lois and jimmy are scared for him to see the hologram with the other, evil supermans because they just know that it would break him. they know it themselves it’s his worst fear to be a weapon! to be capable of such hurt! gosh, he just wants to save people, that’s all he wants
Love the image, but I like the idea better if it only happens when he’s not being the billionaire playboy
If My Adventures with Superman is going to keep trying to flex their anime influence, they gotta make Bruce Wayne look like Rob Pattinson mixed with Tatsu from Way of the Househusband
Personally, I hope my adventures with Superman opens the doors for more stories like it, slowly introducing the starting justice league members, either with their own shows or through Superman. I want flash to be first because both versions of the flash would work great in the MAWS universe, for his kind nature and friendship with people like JLU shows and we already have star labs to introduce him. That and I want the flash facts to come back along with an anime nerd flash running around naming his moves in (at least in the beginning) a makeshift suit using anime merch of that universe.
The only way I want Batman in My Adventures with Superman is if he’s like the parents in Charlie Brown or only ever off handily mentioned
I want it to be either like
Batman on the phone: wah wah wahwah wah wah wah wah
Clark: sounds like a pretty big deal I’ll be there asap!!
Or he’s meeting other members of the soon-to-be justice league and the conversations are like bring in the Flash by connecting him to STAR Labs and then have him say stuff like:
Flash: It was good to meet you Superman! You know, we should think of teaming up with more superheroes, I’ve heard something about a “Wonder Woman” in DC, a “Green Arrow” in Seattle and a weird man in a bat costume who hangs out in Gotham. We should try and see what they’re doing!
Because as much as I love the Batman and Superman duo, i feel like all new DC content we get has to feature Batman and it would be so funny if a show went out of its way to mention him as little as possible in the most convoluted ways. Hell it would even be funny to bring in Robin before bringing in Batman
I think it be funny if task force x and Lex are the ones who either discover/make the difference kryptonites and almost all of them have the wrong effect then they intended making things crazy for clark
One of the things i liked in MAWS, was how much Kryptonite seem dangerous for Kryptonians, in other series and movies it would just make them feel to the ground like they are out of energy or feel weak, but this version make it look like they are really in pain, and i really liked the green veins and bits of it growing on their body. Makes me wonder how would other types of Kryptonite affect them visually, like red, gold, blue or even pink Kryptonite.
I would LOVE to see other colors of Kryptonite in MAWS. It's hard to keep track of which colors have what effects on the character. It seems to change from iteration to iteration The ones I remember are red alters your personality. Silver makes you drunk/stoned. Was it blue or gold that removes powers? Also pink can make you horny, or gay, or make you fall in love, or change your sex? I'm not sure.
Here's some ideas:
1.) One where Clark finds a type of Kryptonite that temporarily takes his powers away and at first he loves it. It's a little embarrassing trying to hide the blue crystals coming out of his skin. (Maybe they pop up close to his eye and he wear sunglasses to cover them. or long sleeves over crystal veins on his arms) But for the first time, he really is a normal man and it's all on his terms because he took the kryptonite knowing how long the effects would last. But of course there's an emergency and he needs his powers ASAP to save the day but it's still a while before they can come back.
2.) Clark gets high off of some kryptonite and Lois and Jimmy have to stay by him so he doesn't wander off.
3.) Jimmy finds some of that "Makes you fall in love/makes you horny" Kryptonite and can't help his curiosity but to try it with Kara with overwhelming results. (Or Lois does that with Clark.)
4.) Something scary. The gang finds themselves in a post apocalyptic alternate dimension that was ravaged by a destruction thirsty Superman who had his personality altered into that of a monster because of some red kryptonite he got infected with. He is pretty much a horror movie monster in this one, with red crystal veins all over his body, and they need to find a way back to their home dimension with our Clark now developing a HUGE phobia of getting infected with personality altering Kryptonite.
5.) Combine them. They're playing around with various different Kryptonites. Jimmy is trapped in his apartment with a Kara who just wants to cuddle. Clark on a Kryptonite high wanders off into an alternate dimension where he's a horrible monster and once he sobers up, he's infected with Blue Kryptonite so he's on the run from his evil AU self with no powers.
That and the flash and superman are the two most comedic, nerdy heroes who really care for their villains…
…That, and if there was a my adventures with flash, we would have and ADHD anime nerd flash who has a villain who has at least once been gay.(captain cold)
I know the show runners of MAWS want to focus on the superman mythos (and I agree) but if i were to choose one hero to make a cameo it'd be the flash only because i think the superman v flash race is the kind of silly fun this series has going for it
