"I Am Sure Dareth Has Done A Wonderful Job," Robin Confirms, Quietly Sidestepping The Affirmation That

"I am sure Dareth has done a wonderful job," Robin confirms, quietly sidestepping the affirmation that it would be the bsxt thing that did happen to the court. With the Laurelin above and underneath them, she cannot fully agree with his comment. Still, she can very well see why he would think so, after the long struggle he had to gain his man, as it where. "And I will ensure that I call him by his correct title, do not worry," she agrees easily, a hint of mischief on her eyes as she considers how to address the future King Consort. As much as she admired the fey'ri, as much as she loved him as King, he had burned his crown, and that meant that no longer would she consider him one of her betters, out of respect for his sacrifice. "Are you feeling nervous? It's only twenty-four hours until the wedding, after all."

“Winter Solstice. It Will Be The Greatest Thing To Happen In All Of The Courts.” Dareth Would Make

“Winter Solstice. It will be the greatest thing to happen in all of the courts.” Dareth would make sure of it. And if he didn’t, well, then Meryasek would have to throw a fit of epic daemonic proportions, and no one wanted that. “Everyone will bow to the new Chancellor, the new King of Daemons. Make sure you call him that, I think he'll pass out if he doesn't hear it. This day is his big moment.” He grinned now, especially because he knew Dareth had always wanted a title. Despite the crown being burned, Meryasek still knew of himself as better – he just didn’t show it as much as his lover did, perhaps.

Who? @meryasek Where? Laurelin, Audulë  Notes: Doing The Randomize Top Songs Thing And Got Raise Hell

"How is the wedding planning going?" She asks as she settles next to the fey'ri in one of the Laurelin's branches, offering a cluster of juicy grapes as she uses her magic to occasionally pop some of her own cluster into her mouth as she keeps her gaze wandering around the Laurelin branches and beyond, into the glimpses of the courts that they can catch through the leaves. "Did you set a date?"

"We die, we die and so we must live," Robin mutters under her breath as her eyes fall upon her liege and King, returned from the shadows without looking worse to wear. The rumors of Thanatos vacation had reached her hears, so she had hoped for the miracle her people deserved, but never thought it possible. Not when Fortuna had turned away from them over the last year. And yet, here she finds herself, witnessing her wildest hopes come true. It had been a wonderful daydream, to hear the word of mouth of his return, but she had needed confirmation with her own eyes. Stepping from the shade, the Autumn Chancellor falls to one knee and bows her head on her fealty. "The Drow Court has been awfully quiet since the end of the Midsommar festivities," she informs him softly, head kept down and voice firm. This is Mery, her friend, her king, and she will give him the proper respect he is owed. Even when her very essence asks her to reach out and bring him into a hug. To ensure he is there and not a mirage conjured to mock her kind. "Aside from that, I have been fully confirmed as the Autumn Chancellor. The Múkēs Holt is yours to use as you see fit. Additionally, I prepared a little gift for the Senate, in case they turn their eyes our way."

"We Die, We Die And So We Must Live," Robin Mutters Under Her Breath As Her Eyes Fall Upon Her Liege

@senatusstarters Location: on the edge of the faerie forest

Meryasek had done a bit of redecorating. His magic had ended with his "life", so he had to hum his song and bring back the wards and fortifications that went through the forest. Now, no one would enter or leave without him knowing. His sprite was back, a little hummingbird that would be made of hellfire, a new beginning as he mourned the one he had lost and had for so long. A presence was behind him now, and he stood up, his true form still hidden. He hadn't done much explaining, but he supposed people had questions. "You look well. Did I miss much?"

The king tilted his head, though he wasn’t sure what she meant by her words. His song ended, the wound on Robin’s side healed, but he helped her to her feet anyway. Meryasek frowned as she didn’t answer his initial question, and while he appreciated her insight, he’d make that decision for himself. “Tell me,” he repeated, meeting her gaze as they stood there. He released her hand when he was sure she was on her feet, offering Robin his arm instead so he could lead her deeper into the forest and to safety. “And why you think they’re too important to get rid of.”

...

Meryasek:

“To important to get rid of? No, that is not it,” Robin admits, hands moving so that one rests on Meryasek’s arm as they begin their journey back into the forest. Deliberately, she begins forming sentences, putting words together to explain why she wants to delay Wade’s reckoning. Part of it is something she won’t admit, that the betrayal is too fresh for her to have fully processed and she still cares for the bastard. But the part that she can explain? That is easier. “His name is Wade Calhoun, and I thought he was content hunting demons and why would I care if he did so? So I taught him how to protect himself, but I was proved wrong on put my trust on him and I want his agony to extend, like a wound rotting from the inside out. Aside from that, he is the first direct link I have to the Eye that will not be traced back to me so I desire to exploit that. So no, he is  not important to get rid off, I just want to use him to get to the organization he gave his loyalty to and make him suffer on the process.”

Meryasek’s magic was spread throughout the forest. He’d ingrained a bit of his own song into the flowers, into the trees, whispers that would give him news, tell him what was wrong, and that’s exactly what had happened, now. Robin was in trouble, and maybe he was too hyperaware of the fey now – he didn’t think twice about using his magic to transport him across the forest, standing now above Robin. The Fall Chancellor was weak, her blood spilling into the fauna below her, and he kneeled beside her, “You’ll be fine,” he murmured, mostly to make her relax. “Who did this to you?” he asked, his hand coming to rest above hers. Blood seeped between his fingers, but he began his healing song, the wound slowly but surely stitching itself up. She would be weak, still, but no longer in danger. “Tell me.”

...

Meryasek:

“Someone who I thought I could trust,” she gasps out as magic begins filling her, healing her, faster than she would have been able to do alone and panicking. As much as Robin had witnessed combat before, but it had never been as real. Not when no one could get close enough to wound, not when her magic could always protect her. The Autumn Court was meant to be one for guile, for trickery and strategy, they were not warriors, they were mastermind, always counting the grain to ensure they would survive the Winter, and she had grown complacent on that role. But no longer. She needed to learn how to fight beyond her magic. “I will not make that mistake again, but they are too useful to kill just yet.”

where? the faerie queen’s forest boundary, the fog

when? right after the thread where wade let’s robin be stabbed

Who? @meryasek

Robin had miscalculated the deepness of the wound, when she had left the clearing and Wade behind. She had thought it possible for her to reach one of the border settlements, perhaps even find a healer before it’s too late. She is proven wrong near her destination, when her legs give out under her and she collapses into a heap of flowers. A groan leaves her lips as she does, the movement pulling at the open wound and causing fresh blood to flow from it. She needs help, and quickly, lest she bleeds out and gives another soldier to the Drow Queen. Determination burns through her veins as she begins to pull herself across the ground, unwilling to give up and admit defeat. She doesn’t have to go far, she finds out, as a familiar presence enters the vicinity and relief sweeps through her. Hazy brown eyes look up to meet Meryasek’s and she gives him a bloody smile of relief.

“Mery,” she manages to gasp out throughout the blood, one hand coming to her stomach to press against the wound. “Help.”

“My cat-sith will appreciate more company to terrorize.” Tevildo truly was a devil cat, but everyone knew that. Wasn’t he the prince of darkness or something? Meryasek pretended not to know to piss the thing off. He tossed his terrible mulled wine into the trash, happy to be rid of it, and turned towards the exit of the market. He didn’t have a lot to say, perhaps, but it was nice to be in Robin’s company. She was new at the whole responsibility thing; an entire court that was hers to look over now. It was a lot of pressure. “If you need anything, I’m always around. I spend more time in the faerie court than out here as of late.” It was an easy way to avoid any mortal realm responsibilities, despite the new forest. Meryasek was uneasy in general at all times now. His clairvoyance had yet to stop nagging him. “There’s a lot to do.”

...

“Tevildo is a delight and I cannot stand for this slander,” she huffs in amusement as she moves to follow Meryasek. It had been some time, by human standards, since she had gotten to spend time with her friend and she is glad for the opportunity that had presented itself. She needs it, the reassurance that those around her are safe, the reassurance that they are well despite everything. Or as well as they can be, all things considered. “I might take you up on that offer, I am sure I could use your hand with filling or something,” she jests lightly. “If not that, there is some new creations of mine I would like to show you whenever you are free.”

The winter festival was fun, but he was gleefully awaiting the coming of Spring. Sure, he had months to go, but he didn’t mind. Meryasek looked at Robin now, shrugging his shoulders, “Are you sure? Did no one warn you?” He joked, letting the snow melt around him as foliage grew in its place. He sighed now, “I kind of want to go home. Care to join me back to the Otherworld?”

...

“You know no one did,” she rolls her eyes at teasing, more fond than anything. Even as she sends him a look, the tension melts from her shoulders. A breath of respite amongst all the new responsibilities and she appreciates it. “A quick jaunt through the Spring Court? Well, I would never pass that up. Shall we?”

Her presence on the Winter Solstice chiding is not required, but she can read between the lines and knows how highly encouraged it is. The Courts need to believe that there is nothing wrong, they need to believe the Chancellors are calm and carefree. Robin can act the part, but truly, her eyes keep flitting around the crowd, looking out for any attack or any of the sort. Despite her worry, Mery’s presence is more than welcomed. It’s been months, but it is always a relief to see him whole and hearty after Halloween. A smile on her lips, she reaches out with one hand and gives him a half hug before looking down at his drink with curiosity.

“What did you get? I haven’t gotten around to get anything just yet,” she says idly, eyes flickering around the crowd once more before returning to Mery as she grimaces. “Please, don’t say the p-word. I think I am going to pavlov train myself to gag at it by accident. It’s interesting and all but there is so much of it.”

Her Presence On The Winter Solstice Chiding Is Not Required, But She Can Read Between The Lines And Knows

Mery had only recently left the Spring Court for the party, and while he was usually in high spirits, his anxiety was through the roof at the moment. It wasn’t until he spotted a familiar face that some of it relented, and the eladrin weaved his way through the crowd untouched and unseen until he was in front of Robin with a smile on his face. “Cheers? I found a drink finally, and it’s not near as good as what I could make back home, but it’ll do for our mini celebration of your promotion. Enjoy the paperwork. I hear it’s magical but still not that fun.”

Meryasek glanced at the other now, “I think that’d be more beneficial than me getting you caught up. Do you really not pay attention to the happenings when you’re away?” A lot had happened in a short amount of time, granted, but it also wasn’t his job to police that. He’d missed Robin’s humor and friendship, “How many more deer now?” He finished off his drink, now on to his next. “Thirsty?”

...

Meryasek:

“In my defense, I did get bitten and nearly stabbed in the Otherworld, and I was supposed to be taking a vacation after I got my doctorates,” perhaps she should feel the slightest hints of shame, but well, she had known she would be rather busy with her plans for the Eye as soon as she finished vacation. Before that, she had wanted some time to wander around and have fun without consequences. “Three more,” she admits reluctantly, with a sheepish smile before reaching out and swiping Mery’s new drink and taking a sip. “Very much so, my thanks for the drink, dear.”

Who? @meryasek Where? In Front Of The Embassy Vendor

"I am guessing it would poor taste to start humming to the tone of 'What'd I Miss' from Hamilton, right? Or would you like for me to serenade you? I do have excellent vocal skills," the question leaves her as she swipes a drink from one of the attendants and slips next to Mery. As far as she had gathered she had missed a lot, which is rather infuriating as she had left a mere five months. At least this time there was no attack of the Eye imminent. She hoped. "Do you want me to regale you with how many animals adopted me this time, instead?"
