Media Experimentation Assignment #1: Photorealistic Painting

I realize I said that I was going to post one piece of last semester's art over a month ago... Sorry! I got busy and then I kept putting it off for some reason. Anyways, I'm going to try to get back into it now!

This was the first assignment for my Media Experimentation class. That class focused on experimenting with different mediums and mixing them together (oil paints, acrylic, gouache, charcoal, waterproof ink, etc) and using different techniques. This first assignment was to make a photorealistic oil painting. The subject I used was the pen stand that came with my art tablet

I spent over two weeks working on this painting and I'm really happy with how it turned out! The photo of it ended up looking a little crunchy though since I had to compress it (the file was too big)
